About Bob and Cathy Cavanagh

We have had several experiences with rental properties when we lived on Long Island. We moved to Vermont permanently in September 2012, but had been coming here for quite a few years. We love the area & all of the seasons.

Bob and Cathy Cavanagh purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Bob and Cathy Cavanagh chose Stratton and Bromley Ski Areas

We purchased this property because, the first time we drove down this road, the yard was beautiful & we thought, if this property ever goes on the market, we would love to buy it. A few years later, it went on the market & we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase it. We have been traveling to Vermont for over 20 years. We have always loved the unique beauty of all of the seasons.

When we first bought the house, we were only able to come up for vacations and long weekends, as we were working on Long Island & had family obligations there. We have since, retired and have been able to make it our home.

The Roaring Branch is beautiful in every season. Listening to the water run is most soothing.

After we moved here, we decided to continue a project started by the previous owner. We completely renovated the cottage. It is homey & still has the charm it was meant to have.

Nice place

  • 3 of 5

It was a nice, clean bungalow, however, my biggest problem was having the bath on the first floor. I was too small and inconvenient.

This cabin was absolutely amazing. Anything and everything you could ever need and more.

  • 5 of 5

My experience at Cathy and Bob's cozy getaway was as good as it could get. The surroundings were absolutely gorgeous as we visited during the peak of the fall colors. They were both very friendly as they greeted us upon arrival and throughout the entire stay. I really hope to make it back someday.

This property was exactly what we wanted. Quite, clean and the perfect size. The owners were very nice and supplied us with just about everything you could imagine to make our stay enjoyable. If we ever visit this area again, I know where we will stay. Thank you.

A comfortable place in a beautiful setting! Bob & Cathy terrific hosts! Truly a "cozy" stay!

  • 5 of 5

Although there were four of us, the place was perfect for our 3-night stay. The cottage was fully equipped with TV, Internet, full kitchen, and plenty of linen and other supplies. The setting is absolutely beautiful--surrounded by trees, with the sound of the nearby stream. Bob and Cathy are perfect hosts--friendly, always available, but respectful of privacy. We really enjoyed our stay at Cozy Cottage!

Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The Cozy Cottage was the perfect fit for our Vermont visit. The Cottage is exactly as it appears and is so inviting and comfortable. Cathy and Bob do an excellent job keeping the Cottage stocked. Kelley Stand Rd is centrally located for visits to Bennington, Manchester and the surrounding area. We highly recommend The Cozy Cottage! We had a wonderful week!!

Perfect spot for our weekend get away for the two of us. The location is great for short drives to trailheads in the forest and the cottage itself was perfect. Couldn't have asked for better!
