Your cottage IS NOT AN APARTMENT, CONDO or TRAILER. AND IT IS NOT NEAR I-40 OR TRAINS/TRAIN HORNS. Nor is your cottage in a 1-2 acre, packed area like Kachina Village, Baderville, or Sherwood Forest, which are neighborhoods. These are NOT desirable, mixed communities with nice properties and junk properties mixed together. Especially true of Kachina Village.
At this cottage, you will not be in a suburban or semi-rural neighborhood. You’ll be staying far from local cities. This is a free-standing, remote, deep-in-forest property with a gorgeous view of the famous Spring Valley. Big shade and regular breezes but high winds are sheltered by the Pines. Nearest major road and freeway are Route 66 (6-1/4 miles S) and I-40 (7 - 7-1/4 miles S).
This property was initially developed in 1990 by the Wrigley Family. Yes. Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs), Wrigley Chewing Gun. Known by legacy as “The Wrigley Ranch,” it has also been known as “Misty Meadow Ranch,” and most recently as “Dago Joe’s Place.”
As remote as this may be, you will be safe and secure as we are here on property to assist in any unusual or emergency situation. We have never had such an occurence. However, we do have clear and efficient plans for any unexpected medical emergency. We have motion sensored night lights that you can enable or disable. Star gazers usually disable as do fire pit burners! Long story made short: you can be confident and comfortable here. In our opinion, much more so than in any city or suburban environs these days.

Folks often ask how close walking trails are. Start at your cottage’s door and virtually head out in any direction! Take a 2 mile RT flat walk or dirt bicycle ride to Spring Valley Tank, a very popular watering hole for all thirsty wildlife around here on the Spring Valley Trail. Take a hike or dirt bicycle ride to Shulz Pass and see it's gorgeous high mountain meadows about 1 - 1-1/2 miles past Spring Valley Tank. Or take a 4 mile RT on the Spring Valley Trail along the base of Sitgreave’s foothills to the new end of the trail where a Martian type, landscape desolation developed from a massive wildland fire 6-8 years ago. And if you dare and you’re in high altitude climbing condition, try mountain hiking to the peak of Mt. Sitgreaves due West of here. No fire roads. No trails unless you stumble upon an elk trail.
