This Victorian style duplex was completely renovated just a few years ago. It was built as 2 townhouses but with PASS THRU DOORS on each floor, it is rented as a WHOLE HOUSE.
This spacious, comfortable house is
fully furnished with TWO big double lounge areas, 4 king size memory foam beds (or we can swap out for 1-2 kings for 2-4 twins) , TWO Jacuzzi tubs and TWO double showers. There are TWO half baths downstairs for convenience - that makes 6 toilets total - as well as 2 laundry rooms and great brick patio out back.
Great views from front and back 2nd floor decks. This is one of the largest properties in the neighborhood.
Relax in style at home, then walk to great shops and restaurants nearby or drive 15 minutes to the happening downtown areas.
Gary is a Native New Orleanian who has lived in San Francisco and traveled the world, only to return home to NOLA! Having returned to marry the girl next door just a few months before Katrina, he has played his part in rebuilding this wonderful city through various real estate projects and other entrepreneurial ventures. And now he's never leaving!
Gary purchased this house in 2009
This building was falling down after 'The Storm,' as we call it. When the chance came up to buy it from an out of town investor who was unable to recover from storm damages, we jumped at it.
The moment the neighbors saw that we were fining the place up and getting good people living there, they were really happy to see the neighborhood improving, one property at a time.
We are proud owners and Proud New Orleanians!
In addition to some great NOLA decor, we decided to make your visit as comfy and soothing with the help of some of our vast collection of Indian and Asian art. Amassed from various world travels, the art is collectively known as Meditation Art.
This house worked well for our group of eight in town for a long weekend without a car. The Route 11 bus stops two blocks away and provides frequent service to the World War II museum and the French Quarter. We also used Uber and taxicabs without a problem. Within walking distance, you can find a Whole Foods grocery store and a few restaurants.
The house itself is nicely furnished. The setup -- two townhouses joined together with a pair of doors -- is unusual but perfectly functional. You have two kitchens and two living rooms.
We stayed at this property in New Orleans for our daughter's college graduation. There were 8 adults and the house worked great for us as it was quite large and had 4 bedrooms and 4 baths which was really good for us. It's a duplex so we also had two living room spaces which was nice for when everyone was at the house. Gary was very helpful with any questions we had. We didn't do a lot of cooking as we enjoyed the numerous outstanding restaurants in New Orleans - but the kitchen seemed to have enough to cook if you wanted and there are two great stores close by - Whole Foods or Rouses. The mattresses were all great too as they were memory foam. The location was very convenient as well just being a block of Magazine. The house was clean and was as the pictures show it being.
I recently visited NOLA for the first time with a large group who wanted to experience the city in its entirety (i.e., limit our time on Bourbon Street). This house is located Uptown in an area with great restaurants, bars, and music venues. For a bit of a reference point, we spent ample time in the French Quarter, Garden District, Uptown, and had no issue getting anywhere -- cabs/Ubers are immediately available and cheap. It's also right near the Audubon Zoo, which is a good spot for families.
The house itself was spacious, stocked with essentials, and nicely decorated.
To top everything off, Gary was responsive, courteous, and professional. I've always preferred getting to know the person from whom I'm renting a house/apartment, and he made it easy. Don't be shy to get some recommendations from him as well.
Will visit again!
Fantastic place and location. Very comfortable. Can't wait to stay there again!
Really great location and comfortable, quiet quarters. Gary, appreciate the dining recommendations, as that provided us some nice personalized experiences with the restaurants. We'll be back.
Thank you Gary for a wonderful stay in New Orleans. Your home was perfect for our family. Three generations gathered for my daughter's graduation from Tulane University. The home is spacious and beautifully decorated, and in a very convenient location.
We will cherish our memories there.
We are very close to the famous Audubon Zoo and Audubon Park as well as the Mississippi River view at The Fly. Walk to Whole Foods and dine at some of New Orleans' world class neighborhood restaurants.
