Located in a very charming neighborhood with good reliable public transit. This is a very safe neighborhood, with dozens nearby places to eat. Coffee shops, pharmacies, and grocery stores such as Giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods.
Check online to see the map for the Metro D.C. transportation The Metro will take you directly to Downtown, the National Mall, plus all other interesting sights in the city.
The Ballston Metro station is less than a mile walk. Virginia Square metro station and Clarendon metro station (on Orange line) are also very close.
Commuter bicycles can be made available for use at no charge. Please request the use of the bicycles ahead of time, so that I can make arrangements.
One or two parking space(s) on the property in driveway. This means you will have reserved parking. There is also unlimited free, unrestricted street parking.

Please NO large gatherings of any kind. It would be acceptable to have local friends come and visit you. Even if they stayed for several hours. However, to plan on inviting out of town guests to meet for a planned gathering is not acceptable. For example, hosting others for ceremonies, business meetings or social events is not acceptable. Examples could be bridal showers, baby shower, graduation. wakes, dinner parties or any large social gathering. If you are unsure about anything, please ask.
Please do not use or bring illegal items or illegal substances on the property. Thankfully, I have never had any issue, but I respectfully ask for your cooperation.
Should you use the HomeAway/VRBO booking option with a credit card, please note the cancellation policy. Of course there are exceptions and I am happy to refund the deposit when there are valid circumstances.

There are several accommodations located in Washington DC that are twice the distance to the White House and National Mall area, where the majority of the museums are located.
Cherrydale is a charming neighborhood with good reliable public transit. The neighborhood is very safe, with dozens nearby places to eat, coffee shops, pharmacies.
Arlington Virginia is as great way to experience the entire Metro DC and at the end of the day have a quiet, comfortable place to relax. We are 3 miles to the Georgetown section of Washington DC and the White House.
There are several grocery stores nearby, Safeway is with 1/4 mile. Harris Teeter and Giant are also very close, less than a 1/2 mile. This location is very close walk, to Ballston, Virginia Square, and Clarendon metro on Orange line of DC metro. Check online to see the map for the Metro DC transportation. The Metro will take you directly to Downtown, the National Mall, plus all other interesting sights in the city.

We visit the Arlington and DC area often and was very happy we read the reviews and chose this property to rent. Steve went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. A super nice guy who knows what is needed when your away from home. Will definitely make this our first choice when returning! Oh by the way..the wine and flowers are a great welcome!!! Dont think twice about renting if available.
This was an excellent home away from home for our family trip to DC! I have two small boys and we drove. It was great to have a spot to park for the week and easy to Uber (only $15 into the city) wherever we wanted to go. At the end of long days it was perfect to spread out and be able to relax. And so, so much of a better value...and way cheaper than a hotel! I have already passed along the owner's info to a friend for their visit. I highly recommend!!!
We stayed at this property for a week with our two sons. It was very convenient and quiet. It is hands-down the best stocked rental property we have encountered. There are even sound machines in the two bedrooms. We had plenty of extra pillows, sheets and blankets. The beds are firm and comfortable. The towels are plush and new.
The kitchen looks as though someone really lives here. There are measuring spoons, veggie peelers, and other tools infrequently found in rental kitchens. There is even a coffee bean grinder. We were quite pleased with how easy it was to stay in this property.
The neighborhood is quiet, yet convenient for exploring the city. We stumbled upon a few great restaurants near the Ballston Metro station. Sweet Greens is great for salad lovers. It is owned by the same people that have Sweetleaf just around the corner. We also enjoyed Rustico and Buzz Bakery (and coffee shop) next door to Rustico. Taylor sandwich shop was a favorite for our boys. There is a Whole Foods just a short drive away.
The owner and Rick (staying downstairs) were incredibly helpful. They even produced a sewing kit when we needed one. We appreciated the on-site support and their willingness to help us in any way we needed. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others. It really is well represented on the listing. If you don't mind a short drive or walk to the nearest Metro station, this house is a terrific option.
My family of four stayed here for a week. We found the apartment to be very clean and comfortable, with many extras included. We were able to cook a couple of dinners there to avoid having to dine out every night. There are plenty of kitchen pots, pans, utensils, foil, pantry staples to make cooking easy. We enjoyed grilling out one night as well. The location is convenient just outside of DC on a cul-de-sac in a nice residential neighborhood. A few days we walked to the metro (about 18 minutes away), and other days we drove in to the city (about a 15-20 minute drive after rush hour). Beds and pillows are very comfortable with extra blankets, fans in each room, and plenty of nice towels. Loved having the convenience of a washer and dryer. We would definitely recommend this to any friends looking to stay in the DC area.
We had a great experience with this rental and with the owner. I admit that I was a bit concerned over the unconventional payment options (no need for deposit or full payment prior to arrival), I learned that the practice is used out of the most sincere desire to make the experience good for the guest.
The unit is located in a quiet residential area. Within a mile are several metro locations. We utilized the Ballston stop twice. Once we drove and parked in the shopping mall's lot, and once we walked. It was a 15 minute downhill walk, and a slightly longer uphill walk back. Both were very simple to do. The neighborhood is very walkable, very safe, and very quiet. A short distance away in Clarendon (1 mile) are numerous restaurants, grocery stores, and a bit of an energized area to visit in the evenings. Closer to the unit are a Safeway and a Giant grocery. We prefer the Safeway of the two, but we also liked the Trader Joes in Clarendon.
The towels, bedding, and decor were of great quality and very comfortable. There are plenty of pillows to choose from, and there are blankets for lounging in cooler temperatures. The kitchen is very well stocked with all of the dishes and small appliances you could need. The pantry has basic spices, etc. There are ample supplies of paper towels, toilet paper, etc. The washer and dryers in the lower level are great!
We split our travel between metro and driving, as the cost was equal for four people. You can park in the Ronald Reagan building for $12 on Saturday evenings, and it was about a 10 minute drive. The monuments and memorials are about an 8 minute drive. 20 minutes to Mt. Vernon or Billy Goat Trail. We opted for the metro only when we were needing to travel during peak times.
The owner is a pleasure to work with, was there on our arrival to show us the ropes of the unit, and was available via text if there was a need. Other bonuses in the unit were a lovely patio and grill, a soft-sided cooler for days when we were planning a picnic lunch, an umbrella, two robes, bathroom essentials, power supplies for device charging, etc.
If I had to find a negative it would be that there is some sound travel from the unit upstairs. We could hear footsteps and vacuuming in the morning from the renters upstairs, and some tv sound traveled through the ducts. This would NOT keep me from a return stay!! We highly recommend this unit and wouldn't stay elsewhere if we return. Off-street parking was a huge bonus, too!
THIS is where you want to be. Manager said, if you're not happy I'm not happy. That statement was a tip off as to what we could expect. Apartment exceeded our expectations. It will exceed yours too.
