Overview

About the property

Welcome to Hearts of Maine’s Granite Shores House, located on Gouldsboro Bay in Steuben, Maine. This contemporary 2 bedroom, 1 full bath home is situated just 30 feet from the spectacular Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the views and sounds of the ocean from either the living room or the master bedroom decks.

The Granite Shores enjoys a westerly facing view. Drink in the golden sunsets over Acadia National Park. Sunset takes on a new meaning of magical when you enjoy the sights of Acadia’s mountains in the distance. Savor the ocean breezes or watch lobster boats work the waters in front of the house.

The granite ledges on the shorefront of this house will provide guests with the option of exploring the rocks and shoreline or sitting near the water and basking in the sun. Low tide uncovers a sandy area where you can access the water or easily launch a kayak.

This house offers an open, sunny design. The kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining area and living room. The main floor includes the kitchen, living room, dining room and full bathroom.

Both bedrooms are located on the second floor and are accessed by separate staircases. The master bedroom boasts a king bed and private deck. Large windows provide guests with a wide open view to the water. Lie in bed and watch the ebb and flow of the ocean below. The guest bedroom offers a queen bed, writing desk and lovely views of the shoreline.

This 2 bedroom house accommodates 4 guests comfortably. Amenities at Granite Shores include satellite TV, DVD player, Internet access via hotspot, gas grill, washer, dryer, dishwasher, linens, blankets, bath towels, cookware and dishes.

The Granite Shores House offers its guests the tranquility of a quiet waterfront setting only 50 minutes away from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. For a closer taste of Acadia, vacationers at this house can travel 20 minutes to the dramatic crashing surf at Acadia’s Schoodic Peninsula in Winter Harbor. Also only 25 minutes away is Maine’s Public Reserve Lands with spectacular hikes on Schoodic, Black and Caribou Mountains in Sullivan.

Area activities in this part Maine include hiking the Petit Manan Coastal Wildlife Refuge trails in Steuben as well as visiting the pink granite shores at McClellan Park in Milbridge.

A highlight for many of our visitors is day tripping to shop the numerous stores and eateries in the various coastal villages surrounding Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island, including Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor. The children will enjoy the Acadia Zoo, waterslides, mini golf and go-cart rides in Trenton and the whale watching, schooner ocean tours and deep sea fishing trips from Bar Harbor.

The house rents from Saturday to Saturday.

Weekly rental rates cover rent plus an exit cleaning. Additional fees include state lodging tax and a separate $500.00 refundable damage deposit.

A 50% advance reservation deposit is required.

The damage deposit is required along with the remainder payment balance 30 days prior to arrival.

Tranquil Beauty

  • 5 of 5

This home was amazing no matter where we were there was a view to the water/ocean and the mountains. The 2 decks were perfect for relaxing with our morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. The deck off the master bedroom was perfect for stargazing at night. A bonus that we didn't realize would be there was an exercise bike that allowed me to keep up with my workouts on the days we didn't go hiking. We couldn't imagine a more perfect place to stay.

Beautiful views!

  • 4 of 5

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Lots of exploring to do on the beach at low tide but do keep in mind at high tide there is no beach area. Sunsets and moonlit water are amazing. This house is definitely off the beaten path so expect to travel 30-60 minutes to get anywhere. There is a small convenience store about 15 minutes away where you can get necessities. Overall a beautiful getaway from any hustle and bustle.

Owner's Response: Thank you for these kinds words about the house. It is true, we are off the beaten path and the area is very quiet. We hope you enjoyed the views and the adventure. Downeast Maine offers its lucky visitors an experience of a lifetime on its bold and rocky coast - far from the crowds. It's like a step back in time to "old Maine". Thanks again for exploring out area! We hope to hear back from you in the future.
