Very close to a perfect 5 star stay
We recently spent 8 nights at this condo and found it one of the best VRBO rentals we have had anywhere (Paris, Amsterdam, the Keys, Berlin, Venice, etc.) We would actually give it a 4.7 out of a 5 rating based on our comments below. However, there are MANY positives about it. The condo is generous, quiet overall, VERY clean, and easy to find. The kitchen is great and quite completely furnished with large refrigerator, dishwasher, disposal, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle, four burner electric range with two ovens, lots of dishes and utensils, and plenty of counter space for preparing and serving. There were some condiments left in one cabinet along with some tea bags and cooking oil. The living area and bedroom are also large; there is a small lanai facing the lawn. Off the bedroom is a large walk in closet with a laundry basket, lots of hangers, iron and ironing board, and blow dryer. The bathroom is small but functional. The shower is designed to conserve water so the pressure and volume are lower than we are used to. Access to the beach is just across the street; there is also a closet near the pool which has bicycles and beach things, which we did not use. The washer and dryer are in a common closet right across the entry hallway. ($1 for wash and $0.50 for dry.) We liked taking walks to the "village" about 2 miles north or to the end of the road about a mile south toward Turtle Beach. In the village, there are several restaurant/bars and an excellent place for fresh, if expensive, fish. A Publix about 4 miles away off the Tamiami Trail (route 41 at the Sarasota Pavilion). While we never met the owner due to our schedules, he let us know how to get the keys and how to reach him if necessary.
A few small items to be aware of: Because this condo is on the ground floor facing the back lawn and some trees, it tends to be a bit dark and could use more lighting in the living and bedroom areas. (The kitchen was well lit.) The condo needs a clock somewhere. (We found an empty box which had once had a clock, but other than the coffee maker and microwave, there is no clock.) The kitchen could use more than one dishtowel and a replacement can opener. Some placemats and napkins for dining would be a nice touch. For light sleepers, be aware that the sprinkler system goes on at 2:00 am for about 1/2 hour. Some nights I slept through the sound, but at first, I thought it was raining. We would definitely recommend this condo.
We enjoyed our stay at the condo! The location of the condo was perfect, close to Siesta Key beach - number one beach in USA. The condo was absolutely beautiful and very clean! The owner's Phil and Joan were very accommodating. We will be back!!!
Very comfortable and well equipped condo. Clean on arrival. A bit dark from nearby trees.
Very convenient for everything, very comfortable and great kitchen. Friendly and helpful owners. Pools and beach just perfect.
This is a very comfortable clean well stocked apartment .
This apartment has absolutely everything that you could wish for from the very well stocked kitchen to the extremely comfortable bed and peaceful location. Phil and Joan have thought of everything that you could possibly need . We enjoyed the heated swimming pool which we had to ourselves a lot of the time. The beach is a short walk across the road and is uncrowded. The recent introduction of the free trolley bus which runs from 8am until midnight makes it easy to visit the bars and restaurants of Crescent Beach and Siesta village without having to drive. It stops right outside Bay Tree Club. I would recommend a visit to Turtles restaurant which is a short walk away and has beautiful views over the bay. I would recommend this apartment to anyone without hesitation .
Arrives a little before 4pm from Illinois. The door was open to our condo, took our bags in and looked the place over. Everything was just like the pictures. Phil and Joan were there to greet us and show us around minutes after we arrived. The beach access was across the street, but a pleasant short walk. If you're looking for a quiet beach to unwind, this is it. Saw maybe 15 people as we sat and walked the beach. We've been going to Sarasota, Siesta Key for many years. As we have grown more mature, we appreciate the less crowded end of Siesta. We were there the beginning of May and the pool was very quiet and peaceful. Would stay again! Thanks Phil & Joan! At first we were a little disappointed in the location and the outside appearance of the unit, but the inside was very well done with a updated kitchen and plenty of light. As far as the location it was a 4 or 5 mile drive to the village and to Siesta beach but a short walk across the street was Turtle beach which was good for shelling and just enjoying a quiet afternoon.
Since Sarasota county permits drinking on the beach you can pack a cooler. The chairs in the cabana are convenient.
If you want to explore the area Venice is an easy drive and Sarasota with its museums is just across the bridge. We did both.
If you want proximity to the action look closer to the village but if relaxation is your goal this might be the place
