Overview

About the property

3 bedrooms, sleeps 6, 2 bathrooms, farmhouse, rural, pool, satellite TV Internet

The villa is the oldest building of a medieval small hamlet and dates back to the XIII century, it was originally a watch tower, it has been recently restored keeping its original structure. The rooms are all on the first floor while the ground floor is not inhabited. the wide living room is central and has its original stone floor and fireplace, the 2 windows offer a wonderful view of the valley and from one of them you can see the lovely pool (13x7m) . Both the living room and the kitchen open on a large porch ideal for sitting and dining in the open. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and one has 2 single beds, all the rooms have their original wooden beamed ceilings . Both bathrooms are modern and comfortable. The villa has a private, large and fenced garden provided with outside furniture and a lush grape pergola. The pool is located 250m from the villa and is shared with the guests of another holiday house of the medieval hamlet which belongs to the owner's family.

Owner's profile:

The medieval hamlet was part of a century old farm which belonged to my mother's family. The farm is now run by my aunt and by my nephews, they farm organic and can offer excellent extra virgin oil from our olive groves and excellent wine from their beautiful vineyards. Torre della Musica ( the villa I offer for rent) is one of the 5 houses which make up the medieval hamlet, they belong to my 3 sisters and to my aunt. I spend as much time as I can in a house close to Torre della Musica because the place is green and peaceful and close to Florence even if secluded.

In summer, after a day trip to one of the art towns of Tuscany, you will appreciate your return to Torre della Musica where the evenings are always breezy.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear adriana,

We've enjoyed a lovely relaxing holiday at Torre della Musica. The house and garden are beautiful and we've spent several days by the pool swimming and admiring the beautiful views. Bilancino lake was good for swimming and pedalo hire. We've visited Pisa and Siena and went to Florence twice, parking near Piazzale Michelangelo where the views over the city were breathtaking.

This was a great holiday and we've got lots of memories to take home.

Thank you

Tranquility and Beauty in the Tuscany Hillside

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at Adriana's home for 6 nights. We found it full of character, beautifully decorated, yet easy to care for with a 3 and 5 year old. The yard was large and fenced in so the little ones could safely play outside. The rooms were spacious and lovely. Everything about this house has character. We loved sitting outside in the evening on the outdoor porch, drinking wine and talking. The view is stunning from the house and is, in our opinion, the top house in that area. It is a little walk to the pool but worth it. The view and tranquility surround you as you soak up the sun or swim in the pool. The train is easy to catch but you need to get the schedule beforehand to plan your trip- look for the "R" sign, as the R stands for train, otherwise you can take the bus in. Trains run frequently to Florence (50 minutes to get there) and you are dropped off at the city center. Adriana was very helpful and speaks English which was a help to us. Even though it is a late check-in you can spend some time at the pool before hand, with confirmation from Adriana, and just keep your luggage in your car until check in, so don't let the late check-in deter you. We loved this house and location so much we really didn't want to leave! Sharon D. Toronto Canada

Wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Adriana and her family were wonderful. All our questions were answered and we even picked up some wine and olive oil from the family label. The place was as amazing as we could imagine. We spent our days traveling the countryside and our evenings cooking and relaxing in the peaceful countryside. Thank you again!!!

Not just a place to sleep!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place! We were warmly greeted and shown around and found the place to be fully equipped with just about anything we could want. We were at the end of our vacation, and spent some time exploring around, but were also very content to enjoy the view, and the property. It is a wonderful place with so much character - I highly recommend it!

Photos don't do it justice!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 wonderful weeks at Torre Della Musica! The house is stunning and the views match. You know when you are on holiday when you hear the cicadas and you can see the stars, comets and universes in this rural mountainous spot.

The house and kitchen is well equipped, the beds are really comfortable and my 18 month old loved the garden. We had to watch him like a hawk around the terrace and steep stairs to the property however which didn't favour little feet but waking up to breakfasting al fresco was a joy.

The house lends itself to all holiday tastes, it is a wonderful place to soak in glorious Italian quiet countryside but if you like to explore Tuscany, it was a great base for visiting Florence and surrounding towns and Chianti-shire.

Adriana is a fabulous host and was available to help whenever we needed anything.

The Torre della musica really was a harmonious and melodic place. Wonderful!

Fanastic, spacious and well-equipped villa

  • 5 of 5

Just back from a week’s stay in this villa. We were very impressed by the amount of space that we had and how comfortable it was. It was perfect for relaxing after a hectic week of sight seeing.

The villa was very well equipped and had everything you needed to cook for a large party. The nearest village (Londa) had 2 small supermarkets that’s well stocked, only downside was that fresh sea food was hard to come by. There was also a well stocked butchers and grocery in the village. We didn’t go to any local restaurants, so not sure of their quality.

The views from the front and back of the villa were breath taking. I spent many happy hours just sitting on the balcony soaking up the views and reading.

Look no further, this is the one!

Although the pictures in the description are great, they still do not do it justice! This place was simply gorgeous and met our intent to what we believe Tuscany would feel like. The place is a modified 13th century roman tower that was very unique, picturesque, clean, with beautiful views everywhere. Plenty of room to spread out and choosing who slept where was difficult because each room was fun to be in.

If you want to go to Florence, its an easy train ride that drops you right in the center of town. Don't waste your time driving!

Adiranna, the owner who lived next door was extremely kind and generous. She went out of her way to make the stay comfortable and even cooked us dinner with local wines to taste. The recipe was a winner that we took home with us!

I would not hesitate to stay again and will dream about our time there for many years!

Ben
