Owners John and Pam both work in the Entertainment industry - Pam in television, John in features although they are now both semi-retired.
Pam and John purchased this house in 2010
They love the desert and the fresh, clean air and natural surroundings and wildlife. Best of all - the lack of city crowds and traffic! Joshua Tree is really magical.
We take pride in our property and are responsive to any of our renters needs. Since we are local, we deal with our guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between.
We love the house and vacation home because it was custom built with extra thick walls, has passive solar features, high ceilings and is in a quiet and secluded part of town. We love being able to walk 10 minutes to hike or just sit on the patio and watch the abundant wildlife. And because our location is a higher up the street, we even have a view of the city lights.
Sky Desert compound was even better than the pictures show; a truly special place. The property was immaculate, safe and cozy. The owners were extremely accommodating, and seemed to have thought of every detail for this vacation rental. Pictures do not do justice.... All expectations were exceeded! This property made Joshua Tree a very memorable vacation.
I brought my Boyfriend out for a Birthday weekend in Joshua tree. We couldn't have been more pleased with the Property. Absolutely Beautiful! The house has such a Coziness. Extremely Fresh. All the nesesarry amenities were provided. You feel like you are on your own home! Lovely kitchen to cook in. Perfect patio where i had coffee, practiced yoga and watched the Bunnys hop about in the soft morning air. You couldn't be closer to the park; where we spent a couple days hiking.
Drove into palm desert where we hiked the the painted canyon and had great Margaritas and dinner @ Fresh agave bar and grill. Snuggled up on the couch and watched a movie. Really not sure what more you could ask for?!
Would I stay again Absolutely!!! Recommend to a friend .... hmm let's keep it a secret
This is a lovely getaway place! The cactus and succulent garden is gorgeous and filled with local wildlife that find refuge. We loved sitting on the patios (there are 2) and watching the birds, rabbits and other creatures that happily found safe places under the cacti.
The home is very quiet and the kitchen is well stocked with anything you would need to cook. The bed is very comfortable and the bathrooms are very well appointed.
Our communication with the owners was very pleasant with clear instructions about access and helpful information about the area. We could not have wished for better.
This was just an ideal place for the two of us to read, draw, and come back to after our walks in the park. Joshua Tree National Park is close and it was easy to get there from the property. Highly recommend this place!
We enjoyed a wonderful few days in this lovely home - so private, beautifully landscaped, immaculately clean, and it had everything you could want! It also had some nice touches - beautiful artwork throughout, books and DVDs, night lights everywhere, decorative lights on the "front porch," and many places to sit outside to enjoy the views! Pam and John were a delight as hosts, very responsive to every question and comment. We highly recommend this home to couples planning a trip to the Joshua Tree National Park area.
It was a pleasure staying at Pam and John's place. It's clean, roomy and relaxing. They made every effort to make our stay as comfortable and smooth as possible, including clear communications, easy directions/instructions, recommendations for local activities and restaurants, etc. The home has a fully equipped kitchen, interesting books, and movies to watch. The yard is a lovely cactus garden with places to sit and enjoy the cotton tail bunnies, the lizards, and the mountain view. It's close to the "downtown" are of Joshua Tree, but far enough away that it's quiet and peaceful. There's a pretty walking trail just up the street from the house... We had a great time.
John & Pam's private retreat was just right for us. They know how to host with just the attention you want/need. This is a unique home, with great privacy and all the comforts. The outdoor patios were especially lovely, and the gardens were a delight to wander. Of course, Joshua Tree Park is full of wonder. We stayed here almost a month and were never bored. We'd highly recommend this rental!
Palm Springs is just 45-55 minutes away where there is live theater, a zoo, one of the world's highest aerial trams, museums, etc..
