This spacious (650 s.f.) ground floor, one bedroom casita (little house), is designed and decorated in traditional Mexican style, with comfort and safety in mind.
This casita sits in it's own private courtyard, with covered and uncovered patios, ambient lighting and traditonal canterra water fountain.
There are ceiling fans throughout and a/c in the King bedroom. Plenty of space for your belonging and a security safe for your valuables.

We provide: WIFI access, TV with dvd library, reading library, bottled drinking water, twice weekly maid service, washing machine and clothesline. There are also beach chairs, umbrella and towels.
The beautiful, unspoiled, beach is a block away and a 10-15 minute walk to the plaza.
Lo de Marcos is a place to unwind. You can relax and rejuvenate or fill your days with fun and adventure.
We have a “NO PET” policy.
Please remember that we are not a hotel. We need at least 2 days notice, before your stay. Thanks.
My husband and I have been full time residents in Lo de Marcos since 2009. Like many others, we arrived one day to have a look and never wanted to leave!
Monica O'Sullivan purchased this cottage in 2009
I recently stayed in Casita O'Sullivan for a few weeks while my house was under construction in town.
Located on the Southside(Universidad), the property is easily accessible from the main highway, town plaza, or the road along the beach(Camino A las Minitas). Parking is available in front of the property along the front wall.
Access to the beach is great - straight down the wide street - maybe 4-5 minutes till your feet hit the sand. Convenience is a big deal to me, and having the beach so close was a huge plus. Floating on the water while the sun is setting is something everyone should experience.
Casita O'Sullivan is an impressive property. It will immediately put a smile on your face.
The property is secure with it's own entry gate at the front of the property. The landscaping is amazing with a variety of palms, bushes, and a bit of grass. The patio has two separate seating areas giving you the option of being in the sun or not. I spent most of my time in the shade under the outdoor fan. It also has a lounge chair/s for taking that afternoon siesta. The patio has a small BBQ, which I used 4-5 times, which was really nice. The potted flowering plants and small water feature will draw you to this area for hours of relaxation. I loved it. Lastly, there is an electrical outlet outside which was handy for plugging in my laptop and MP3 player.
The inside of the casita is incredible. Clean, clean, clean! The housekeeper is great! The construction is first class and has all the modern amenities you would ever need for your stay. I very much enjoyed and appreciated the amount of effort and thought put into the decor - just a wonderful job. The inside seating area is plentiful, with the option of sitting on a stool at the kitchen bar. Every appliance or tool you need to whip-up a gourmet meal is available. The refrigerator and separate freezer are large. Plenty of dry good storage in a sliding door pantry.
The bedroom has a large king sized bed that is very comfortable! All the sheets and pillow cases were soft and of high quality. The bathroom is large with a big step-in shower. Great!
Saving the best for last...Monica and Joe are wonderful people. They are responsive and timely with both emails and phone calls. Their attention to detail and genuine concern for your stay is nothing short of amazing. They always took the time to answer my numerous questions.
Casita O'Sullivan is simply a first class property that I would highly recommend!
My girlfriend and I enjoyed our time at this casita. The O'Sullivans are a wonder of knowledge and provide amazing service. The housekeeper does a great job as well. I enjoyed listening to the waves of the ocean from the porch and then the short walk to the sandy beach to enjoy them. This is a great town if you want to get a taste of Mexican life away from the tourist towns. Sayulita was a 10 mi taxi drive for getting out and enjoying the tourist life. It is a nice serene place although just be sure to ask Monica O'Sullivan to check in with the neighbors to see if they'll be doing any construction while you are there as a number of days there was quite a bit of pounding going on next door which killed the peace and quiet. I used this as a prompt to get my butt to the beach though. Overall it was a great experience and I'd stay at the casita again.
We stayed for 11 days in March and the casita was a big part of our very enjoyable trip. We loved being close to the beach and a short walk from the center of town. Monica and Joe are well connected with the community and have suggestions for any activities and outings you may wish to pursue. They also gave plenty of privacy and the setting of the casita is such that it seems like your own little home. Perfect for a romantic getaway.
The entire home is well appointed and well-kept. Perhaps we were lucky but we saw not a single insect inside the home with the well screened windows and doors.
My husband loves to cook and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the stove, knives, and cookware.
In sum, we are looking forward to coming back and only hope the casita will be available when we plan our next trip to Mexico!
We stayed for 3 weeks and found nothing lacking. The casita is well planned and has everything you could want. The bed is comfortable and we did not need the Air Conditioning. The maid Ani is very through and comes twice a week. She also makes wonderful tamales. Joe and Monica were there if you wanted anything but not if you wanted privacy. Location is good, near to the beach and a quaint walk through the countryside to go to town. Quiet spot.
We travel to Mexico every year seeking the intrinsic elements of peace, serenity and sun. Here we found them all in abundance all packaged in a charming "Casita" thoughtfully furnished and maintained. We have never been so comfortable in Mexico. Monica and Joe were always available with information and assistance; the perfect hosts.
We stayed for a week, and booked for a month next year. Need I say more?
We stayed at Casita O'Sullivan for a week and couldn't imagine a better place---a beautiful house and grounds, everything we needed. Monica and Joe were there for information and to make sure we had all we wanted. This was my 3rd or 4th time in Lo de Marcos and the best fit so far---delightful, relaxing, convenient, comfortable, private and just the right distance from the beach and town.
