My husband grew up 1/4 mile south of this property and we purchased the farmstead 1/4 mile north of property 39 years ago. We enjoy the country life. We have raised 5 daughters who have throughly enjoyed creek that runs through property as they were growing up.
Mary K. Malone purchased this farmhouse in 2012
This property borders our farmstead. We rented the cropland for over ten years. In October of 2012 we had opportunity to purchase the farm to expand our crop farm operation. Big decision for us was do we demolish the old farm house or fix it up as rental. We choose to fix it up.
I fell in love with the character of this old house. Its open staircase, old painted woodwork, hardwood floors and great countryside views from the large windows are a delight to share with other. I have seen deer and wild turkeys many times through these windows as we were fixing this old house up.
There's no place like home, and that is exactly how you will feel after staying on Greg and Mary's farm. Our family had a reunion and a wedding to attend to while in Minnesota. Greg and Mary immediately made us feel like family. Whether it be touring around on the 4-Wheelers or picking fresh veggies from the garden, every moment spent on this farm was enjoyed by all. The house is cute, yet spacious. Nothing was more rewarding than evening fires capped off with star gazing and laughter. Greg and Mary constantly went out of their way to ensure we had the best vacation, despite the weather.
After spending the last 12 days here, I can say without any doubt that my family wouldn't stay anywhere else in Minnesota. You and your family will love it here!
Thank you so much Greg and Mary!
My sister and my family had an amazing and relaxing time on the Malone's farmhouse. They were very cordial and hospitable! We had fun collecting fresh eggs in the morning for an amazing breakfast , tubing down the creek in the afternoon and we still had time in the evening to praise the Lord during the Hopefest concerts! Thank you for a fantabulous time!
This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Very cozy and charming! The owners are very welcoming and provide everything you need for a relaxing get away! The kids enjoyed bottle feeding the lambs, and playing in the private creek. Loved the country, and seeing all the amish buggies on Sunday. The camp fire topped off the weekend! Would highly recommend!!
This was my third time at this delightful cozy guest house. Spent time snowshoeing with others on the property. Every thing we needed as a group of siblings and in-laws gathered to spend time together. Thanks again Mary and Greg for sharing this treasure.
Great cozy farmhouse! We stayed here for a family gathering over the weekend. This was such a comfortable and welcoming place! We loved being in the country and having the space to roam. 3 of us went snowshoeing along the private little creek one morning. It was such a peaceful and calming adventure! We could see the deer tracks as we walked in the woods along the creek. Doesn't get much better than that! Loved the fact that we could see all this without having to drive anyplace.
The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils & appliances and was very accommodating for our large group. It was spacious enough so that a handful of people could pitch in to cook without feeling cramped while others relaxed at the table. We enjoyed seeing a handful of Amish buggies drive by on their way to Church as we were making breakfast Sunday morning. The family sitting area is cozy and inviting. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are all decorated with a loving touch.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable and quiet get away. I enjoyed the ability to stay in the country and the peacefulness of it all. This was our 2nd time staying here and I look forward to another trip up here sometime.
Beautifully restored farmhouse! It has all the charms of an old-fashioned farmhouse, yet has modern amenities for a comfortable stay. The chickens in the yard behind the house were great- not only for fresh eggs every day, but also for entertainment! In addition to the eggs, we also were able to get cucumber, potatoes, onions, zucchini, and corn from the garden on the property. The beds are comfy and I slept like a rock every night. The owner was very accommodating and always made sure we had everything we needed- he even built a fire for us 2 nights.
Creek running through property acreage; great for
4 wheeling; enjoy seeing deer, wild turkeys, ducks & geese; several Amish communities within 5 mile radius
