Hello, Welcome to THE LYTTLE HOUSE. We Live on the Mainland in Bedfordshire, Pretty in its self but not a patch on The Isle Of Wight. Barry grew up in Co.Cavan, Ireland, another beautiful part of the world, and I (Gayle) in dear old Bedfordshire.
We have wonderful neighbors Dot and Eddie who are very kind and look after The Lyttle House for us. They live on the Island and are a mine of information if you need any tips on where to go and where this is or that is. if you read our feed back nearly every one mentions our lovely neighbours.
Gayle Clarke purchased this bungalow in 2006
My brother moved to the Isle of Wight, we had lots of lovely holidays on the Island. Then thinking of buying a house boat, my brother suggested Brambles Chine, We came up to just have a look, nothing more. just look......... Well 9 or 10 years on you know what happened, so pleased the look turned out to be a buy. Now hoping we will retire to the Island one day.
We are so lucky 3 minutes from the lovely beach, So many lovely walks. There is a field approx 100 yards away and I love nothing more than to sit and eat my breakfast watching the cows munching theirs. I love an evening walk down by the beach to colwell bay, with a glass of wine in my hand and to watch the the gentle waves on the beach, Maybe a meal of Spare ribs , (We can really recommend them) Well its just so lovely you cannot describe it, Come on Over and see for yourself. if you cannot find the dates you need please contact us, We always try to accommodate our guests. I can do Bookings up to Nov, and then again for Xmas and New year, Then again from Feb on wards.
Thank you for taking the time to look at our Lyttle House.
Gayle and Barry Lyttle. (now you know why its called the Lyttle House)
The Lyttle house had everything in it we possibly needed to cook all our meals and feel at home. It was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean and the bed in the main bedroom was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in! It was brilliant having a private beach so close (3 minute walk) and we went there before breakfast some mornings and again at teatime too and it felt safe for children.
The site has good facilities such as a shop selling all the essential items, a little crazy golf course (you can hire clubs and balls from the shop) and there is also a big wooden childrens play area too. The whole site is well maintained and looks nice.
We were greeted by Dot upon arrival who looks after the place and she and Eddie were so helpful during our stay and are such lovely people.
We had a fantastic time and we are looking forward to going back there again.
well what can i say a lovely accommodation and holiday . excellent communication with Gayle and on arrival being greeted by Dot the next door neighbour who welcomed us, Dot and Eddie were treasures and if there was any problem Dot was there to sort out the problem promptly . The Lyttle House was comfortable and well maintained we didnt need for anything , the beds were comfortable too. the kitvhen was excellent with washing machine and dishwasher. We were so impressed that we have rebooked for next year before the end of this holiday . We are looking forward to August 2017 . Thanks Gayle x
I enjoyed at Brambles times, I would recommend this bungalow to everyone.
Perfect size for me and my family, had everything I needed for my weeks holiday.
Myself and my family have had a very pleasant stay in the lyttle house. The chalet was clean and comfortable and was equipped with everything you need to make it home from home . The private beach is fantastic and is only a couple of minutes walk from the chalet. Very good value for money.
Yes I agree with the review below. The bungalow was very clean and the decor and bedding was new, very fresh and well kept. It had everything we needed and more, including tea and biscuits! Gayle welcomed us by phone and Dot, next door, in person telling us all we needed to know. I would definitely recommend this Lyttle House -especially for its value for money, Anne Douglas, Aberdeen
Well, what can I say! We had such a wonderful stay here and we hope to come back and stay again. The bungalow was clean and had soo many extra's that I didn't need half the things I had packed. Little touches like the soft towels, shower gel, washing up liquid, dishclothes, sponges, hand soap, tin foil, bin liners, salt and pepper, milk, squash, biscuits the list goes on! Even if you didn't need them it was nice to know they were there. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was clean and comfy. Having two children (age 7 and 2) the place was a giant playground for them, the outside space was safe and the beach was beautiful and only a 5 minute walk through the site. Gayle and Barry were excellent in providing all the information we needed for our stay and Dot and Ed next door were AMAZING! Such wonderful people and had lots of knowledge of the site and surrounding area. Overall I would certainly recommend this little bungalow to anyone, the little touches give it a big 10/10 for me!
Enjoy the soft sandy beaches of the isle of Wight, nearest is less than 3 minutes walk.
Beautiful views across to Old harry rocks at Swanage, and Hurst Castle less than two miles across the waters of the Solent.
This four person bungalow offers a perfect location for enjoying the sights and sounds of the island, whether by foot, car or bus.it is an ideal base for water sports, swimming, fishing, fossil collecting, walking, superb sandy beach with a cafe, plenty for the children.
The historic and picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth is nearby with ferries to the mainland on a regular basis.
Many interesting places to visit The home of Queen Victoria, Alfred Tennyson and many more; Visit the castle at Carisbrooke where King Charles spent his last night.
