Not quite what you pay for...

I have been a long time renter in Breckenridge, and have even lived here for a Winter season, so I'm quite familiar with what is normal, and what is not in a rental unit. Considering I paid over $2,500 for a 5 night stay, there are certain things you expect. Such as, enough towels for your whole party (we were given 4, despite the unit being advertised as sleeping 8), a BROKEN COUCH and I mean broken to the point that sitting on it is uncomfortable, "pillows" that are really nothing more than a sheet with a handful of feathers, a BROKEN DISHWASHER that was previously "fixed" using a paper clip. I can't make this stuff up people.

I don't understand how a unit generating such a HUGE amount of revenue is unable to provide basic comforts to it's renters. Put some real pillows in there, replace the dang couch, fix the dishwasher once and for all, and for the love of God give us some toilet paper beyond one-ply, elementary school crap. Absurd.

Owner's Response: We like to respond to all of our guest reviews and some of them are more challenging than others. When a guest has a negative experience, we use it as an opportunity to learn and grow. However, this review contains a bit of fact and a lot of fiction. We hope this guest doesn't leave reviews like this for all their Breck accommodations, was we find the lack of honesty and integrity in the review to be disappointing and a real disservice to the owners of this wonderful property. This guest never called our office and didn't let us know about any issues during their stay. This review is the first we learned of this. First, the couch is NOT broken! We sent our maintenance supervisor over because we were concerned about the condition of the couch for future guests. He did a complete inspection and found it in complete working order. We're honestly not sure what this guest is talking about. Second, the guest paid $1,500 for a 5 night stay and not $2,500 as they mention in this review. Not a critical point, but does indicate the lack of honesty by this guest. Third, there were 8 towels in the unit and it was inspected prior to their arrival. We normally hang 2 towels on the towel bar and leave 2 under the sink in each bathroom. A simple look around would have revealed that or the guest could have called our office. Firth, we did find a paper clip in the dishwasher and it looks like a guest may have tried a self-repair. We ordered a small plastic clip to repair the rack, but the dishwasher was and is fully functional. Lastly, the pillows are a bit flat and we have replaced those.

Great location! But needs updating.

This property had an amazing location. It was a walk away from pretty much everything. Very little that we had to drive to. It also had a great view of the mountains! However...the view was occluded by outdated blinds that were extremely hard to open!!! Also it was so easy to hear the neighbors in the apartment below. Luckily the neighbors we dealt with were not too loud but it would not be worth the risk to use it again and have loud neighbors. I literally heard a cough from the neighbors downstairs, in addition to their Christmas music, their baby cry, and the couple briefly arguing. The couch wasn’t the comfiest ammenity either. Check-in was frustrating for a time as well. The instructions said to notify them if check-in would be later than 6pm so they could leave the key secured somewhere with a code (aka the office would be available before this time). Well we arrived around 5 and no one was in the office, no one answered when we called the company, and we did not receive a call back about it until the next day!!! Luckily they had left a message with instructions to get into the unit prior to this when I had no service. But I thought it was extremely unprofessional to have a closed office during a time when it was not indicated and to not answer calls about reservations and to return the calls until the next day!! Overall, as the title indicates, it is a GREAT location and the ammenities are somewhat standard, but other than that it needs definitely needs some work/updating.

Owner's Response: This is a great property and you can't beat the location for the price. We're sorry that the neighbors were a bit loud for you and would encourage you to return and stay in one of our many single family homes. We're also sorry you found the checkin process confusing. Our check instructions state that the office is open daily from 9am-5pm and that a packet will be waiting for you in the lockbox when you arrive. The instructions clearly state the process for accessing the lockbox and it appears that you had no difficulties in obtaining the information and accessing your property. Again, we're sorry that you found this process confusing.

Nice place in North area of city

The location is good - North part of main Breckenridge. Mostly good. The view is great of the mountains! A couple nits: the garage is super tiny - 1 car. If you need 2 spaces it might be an issue. The wood fireplace did not have working lighter or newspapers. So bring your own. Plenty of wood was there. The bunk beds block the bedroom door from shutting. Not an issue for us, but might be for older kids. Lots of stairs - so not handicapped accessible.

Great location for town activities

This property was a great location. We brought our teenage kids who enjoyed being able to walk freely around town to shops and restaurants. We had a small issue with the dishwasher, but it was handled quickly by management. Booking and check in was simple and the property was clean. My only negative comment would be that the property was a little worn and dated. The couch was not comfortable and neither were the bunk bed mattresses. Luckily, we didn't spend much time laying around, so it wasn't much of an issue for us.
