About the property

Lakefront Cottage in Deerfield

This lakefront home is located in a quiet cove in Deerfield Resort on Norris Lake. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath home that sleeps 4-6. It is continuously upgraded and immaculate.

There is deep year-round water in front of the house. Covered dock space for one boat is available and the dock can also be used for swimming and fishing. The cove location makes swimming and fishing enjoyable and safe as it is free from heavy boat traffic. The front yard has a gentle slope, which provides an easy walk to the lake. The Greens golf course and restaurant is 2 miles away and an airstrip is 1 mile from the house. Tennis, volleyball, and a swimming pool are about a mile away.

Nice well kept house on a small cove. Boathouse with lift if you have a boat. This house and neighboring houses are mostly in the trees (and shade) which was very nice.

We rented a boat from Sugar Hollow Marina and found that it took 15-20 minutes to drive it, but only 5 minutes to boat from there to the house!

We are exploring areas to possibly move to on a lake somewhere...not sure where yet, just in the exploratory phase. I found the lakes in East Tennessee to largely be flood control lakes with 30-40 foot level changes from summer to winter time. Also the terrain is quite hilly. I'm from Colorado so I thought I knew about hills. The Tennessee hills are beautifully forested but the roads and drivers present challenges! It's cool when they stay on their side of the yellow lines, but many times they cross when oncoming. The hills also go right to the lake so the houses are 50 feet above the water and getting to and from the water is a workout.

A week before arriving, we got an email that stated no washcloths or bath towels are provided...I found that strange as the other 2 lakehouses I stayed in this trip provided all of that. Not a problem if you're driving, but traveling by air makes you want to watch your space. There was a washer and dryer right there where we could have freshened them up before we left. Another inexpensive thing would have been to provide a small box of laundry detergent. The grocery stores we knew about were 15 minutes away at least so we didn't do laundry.

Overall this area is nice to visit but I wouldn't want to live there (for purely personal selective reasons).

I would recommend this house for a short term rental as it was nice.

Immaculate home!

  • 5 of 5

The house had everything we needed. Loved sitting out on the deck in the evenings. Having the boat dock was a definate plus and the walkway up the hill wasn't bad at all. We were supposed to have 5 guests but ended up with only 3. It is a small home but was the perfect size for our needs.

Great Views and Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome weekend enjoying the lake from this cozy home in Deerfield resort! It was everything we needed with amazing access to the water. The home fit 2 couples perfectly with two separate bathrooms and all of the kitchen essentials provided. The property is well maintained and has a gorgeous fire pit area steps from the water. The only advice I have is to watch your footing on the stamped concrete path from the house to the dock when it rains. It can be a little slick!

I would definitely book this property again!

It was a nicely appointed cottage and conveniently located by water to lovely parts of the lake

  • 4 of 5

The slope from the cottage to the lake was not as "gentle" as it looked in the pictures and was a little difficult for one of us to navigate. Otherwise, all was as described and a fine time was had by all.

Beautiful and peaceful place. Owners are wonderful to work with

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in this home last year and chose to stay here again this year for many reasons. The house well kept in a great location on the lake that is peaceful. The boat slip was wonderful to dock our boat and does not have a lot of boat traffic which allowed our children to play in the water while we prepared meals and such. The owners are wonderful to work with and we will not hesitate to stay in this lovely place again. Thank you for allowing us to rent your home and make lots of amazing family memories!
