This is one of the best locations in the Northeast. We are only 800' from Sachuest Beach, also known as Second Beach, featuring some of the best surfing on the east coast. The more than a mile long beach is perfect for sun bathing and all kinds of fun in the sun including kayaking, fishing and boating. Newport with its fantastic shopping, night life and restaurants is only a five-minute drive or a short bike ride away. We are very close to St. George's School with wonderful tennis courts.
This apartment is located in a large historic carriage house. This two level apartment is private and has just been renovated. There are three bedrooms (2 with a queen size bed in each and one with a trundle bed) and two baths. The apartment features hardwood floors and a beautiful kitchen. This apartment also has a washer and dryer, cable, WiFi and off-street parking for 3 cars.
I am a new owner but will maintain the same management services and high standards. We aim to exceed your expectations.

This house was excellent for 6 people, with 2 queens and two singles. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, the house was clean, and Trish was very helpful! Would definitely recommend a car but we managed fine without one, ordering a minivan cab when we needed to get downtown (which was cheap, split amongst 6 people). The only downside was the one bathroom, which got a little busy with 6 people in the house, but with a little patience, it was only a minor inconvenience. Would definitely want to stay here again!
My husband and I treated his parents for an autumn holiday in Newport RI from England UK. This was a real gem of a location.
My mother in law is an extremely light sleeper and really worries when traveling. She slept beautiful and absolutely loved the bed.
The kitchen was well stocked and had all one could need for even the largest most elaborate meals (or not).
What I loved the most was how much light the house let in even so late in the year. There was the freshness you only get by the sea. It was so very relaxing.
Had a truly great holiday.
Bass Rocks Cottage was the perfect fit for an extended two week rental this Fall for our family of 5. Everything we needed was there , along with a lovely welcome bag, and it is well appointed. Quiet yet close to so much, the location is great and the walks to second beach and purgatory chasm were wonderful. The kitchen is well equipped and a nice space for cooking, after days out enjoying the area. The property has a pool and hot tub, bikes, and nice fenced yard. It was a great stay for us to make a family vacation out of travel to the area for work, and felt like a home away from home.
We came at the perfect time of year! (September 11-17) Not too hot or overly crowded. You can't beat the price or location to beach or acrivities in Newport. The location was perfect, just a short walk down the street to the beach and overlook. The pool/hot tub and hammock is basically your own private area. Any problems we had we let Alexis know and she tried her best to remedy them right away. We all would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We rented 2 of the 3 apts at Bass Rocks for my son's graduation from OCS and had an amazing time! The pool and hot tub were a hit with everyone! We stayed in and grilled steaks one night and had everything we needed right there! The house is convenient to the beach, the Cliff Walk, restaurants, and a straight shot to the Naval base! Thank you Alexis for the perfect accommodations and hospitality!
I stayed at Bass Rocks Cottage for four days in July. The location is ideal -- walking distance to Second Beach and a quick drive to Thames Street in the heart of Newport. You can also get an Uber from the house into Newport. The cottage itself is very clean and well-appointed and the property is very nicely kept. The kitchen has everything you need by way of appliances and utensils and having a gas grill is an added bonus. Good air conditioning for hot nights is a welcome amenity. It was also nice to have beach chair and towels and a beach umbrella. Finally, Alexis is very responsive and answered questions quickly. I'll definitely be back next summer.
Very convenient location -clean, neat but two bedrooms upstairs had to share a bathroom- which didn't work so one couple had to stay downstairs and put two beds together.
Overall we loved the place, but it is better suited for a family than two couples
