Welcome to my newly renovated cozy 1-bedroom bungalow in San Diego's very popular South Park neighborhood, nestled in between North Park, Golden Hill and Balboa Park Golf Course. It is well known for its walk- and bike-ability, delicious restaurants, trendy bars and shops, and world-class craft breweries. Balboa Park, Downtown Gaslamp, Little Italy, and North Park are a 5-minute Uber/Lyft ride away. The Bungalow has everything you need for the perfect trip!

Beech Street Bungalow has been fully renovated from floor to ceiling (literally). Built in 1922, it is a 500 sq. ft. detached home located next door to my own home. You have a private entrance, private driveway, and wraparound deck with views of Mexico and Navy ships in the harbor in the distance. The driveway is steep so most prefer to park on street.
The home is a 1-bedroom (queen bed) with large walk-in closet and full bath (shower only; sorry no tub). The second bed is a queen-sized pull-out sofa in the living room. There is a full kitchen with dining area that can accommodate up to four guests. Further amenities include: air conditioner, washer/dryer, ceiling fans, WiFi, TV with Netflix and HULU, and well-appointed furnishings and decor with a casual chic San Diego feel.
The private yard includes a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. There is a shared basketball hoop in the street if that's your jam. Ideal for travelers with children (5+ years old) or without children. Children under 5 are allowed; however, the deck isn't particularly toddler-friendly. Unfortunately no pets are able to stay at this time.
This is a rental for the entire home. You will not be sharing it with anyone and you will have access to everything, so make yourself at home!
My goal is to offer you the comfort of home during your vacation and we've made every effort to stock the space with the conveniences of home. The unit will be prepared for you when you arrive.
Here's a general list of what we provide:
- All bedding
- Bath towels, hair dryer, a few rolls of toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner & bath soap, & two guest robes are now available.
- Full Kitchen: Gas stove/oven, dishwasher, regular-sized fridge, microwave, toaster, Keurig, and some bar-ware. INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:
You'll have a key-less entry system (with lockbox back-up). I will likely not bother you after check-in unless you need something. However, feel free to reach out at anytime if you have any questions. I'm a native San Diegan with a wealth of knowledge about the area, particularly if you're on the active side. I do travel a bit so there may be times when I am not home while you are here, but I will do my best to make sure there are no surprises with the property.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A 3 NIGHT MINIMUM FOR COMICON (Thurs - Sat). And ... there’s enough room in the closet for costumes and your shwag bags.
1 night minimum during the weekdays and 2-3 Night Minimum most weekends.
This bungalow is professionally cleaned before every stay, and comes with clean linens, towels, some toiletries, a hairdryer, and everything else you'll need for a comfortable stay. Please let me know if you need anything while you're here.
As with most neighborhoods in metro San Diego, we get a bit of airplane noise as planes descend into San Diego International Airport. It's a non-issue for 99% of our guests, but if you are very sensitive to noise, there is a fan in the bathroom for white noise or ear plugs in the bathroom vanity. The planes usually stop at 11pm. And the new air conditioner will provide more comfort during the hotter months (Aug - Oct) so you can close the windows and not hear much from outside.
Lastly, please keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. No parties please. We live in a quiet neighborhood (aside from the planes) and I'd like to keep it that way.
