Just an Island Girl looking to help my guest relax and enjoy 'my' Island.
SeaLaVie is simple, cozy and relaxed. Everyone says it's what the Caribbean 'used to be' and what they long for on there Island get-away. We cater to your ever whim and make you feel at home.
Ocean view, just steps away from beach and ocean. Privacy and convenience of a condo with the amenities of hotel living.
Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean is best.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights before finishing off our vacation on Providenciales. Donna arranged a jeep rental for us and was there to meet us at the ferry dock and we followed her back to the sea la vie. The rental was perfect for us, lots of room and located right on pelican beach with a view of the beautiful ocean. It is so quiet at night it sounds as though the waves are crashing right by the door. If you are looking for luxury save that for one the many resorts on the main island, but for us we will take North Caicos any day. Can't beat the seclusion and the beaches. You can literally drive and explore anywhere on North Caicos or take the causeway to middle and find a deserted beach. We ate breakfast at the Pelican Beach restaurant, which was very good, I'd recommend corn beef hash. Jackie was there to make sure our belly's were full. For supper we ate at Barracuda bar right next door as well. Great food and conversation, this is where you will find other Canadians that live here part time (and some full time) to hang out. If you are low key and just enjoy the outdoors, this is the place for you. Yes there are loads of Mosquitos at night especially when it's humid, be sure to pack some deet. Word of caution there is hardly any development on this island, except for the odd grocery store and restaurant, and don't expect any signage. That said I can't wait to come back to Paradise.
Loved this property! Steps away from the beach. Seclusion and quiet part of Turks & Caicos that my husband and I seek when traveling. We explored the island with a jeep (highly recommended because of the rough roads) and found secret beaches and hidden spots to snorkel or shell hunt. The restaurant that is on the property is very tasty and fresh made to order. Actually, everything on North Caicos is made to order. It's like you have your own personal chef. Dinner reservations a must as there are very few people on the island and resident owned restaurants are closed for the night if they have no customers. Waste not, want not. Makes you think of every single piece of food that is wasted. Forget abouy the commercial restaurants or hotels. There are only 3 gas stations and 1 ATM on North Caicos. This is not for travelers who need tourists, crowds, convenience, pampering, expensive hotels and snobby noses. This place is truly made us remember what is important in life and appreciate the beauty and power of nature.
Donna was a great hostess and answered all of our questions and was always available to help when we needed. Susan was magical in her dinner preparation. I had the curry conch. Yum. And my husband had the snapper. Both expertly prepared and conch very tender and palatable. The staff at the hotel (as well as every establishment) are super friendly. Something about the island air that makes the good energy flow. Solar power run houses and businesses, simple life and friendly residents, pristine blue beaches and great island food caused us to extend another night! We will return and highly recommend this property.
A lovely setting with all the convenience of a hotel and bar next door, so you get the quiet and privacy of an apartment with the hotel perks. The apartment is well maintained and Donna and her family are quick to help out with anything and are lovely obliging people. The shop is close buy so it is easy to cook for yourself or you can eat at the hotel or borrow a bike and eat at several places along the main highway.
The apartment is nicely done, comfortable, clean and airy. The best part is laying in bed watching it get light over the ocean as the sea goes from night-time grey to amazing turquoise. You can lay on the beach and watch ospreys and venture out on the bikes and see flamingos. This is a tranquil place where you only have to see others if you want to, a fabulous place to relax and chill. You can hire a car at the hotel and explore, the islands are beautiful and unspoiled and there are some amazing views, our favourite was from the bar at Mudjin Harbour! Swimming there was exhilarating but not for the faint hearted.
Highly recommended, good value and we would definitely come back, thank you :)
Donna's lovely apartment on the second floor with a wrap-around balcony overlooking a beautiful secluded beach was the ideal vacation spot for us. We cooked almost all meals and ate outside each day enjoying the quietude of this location. If you are looking for a romantic getaway this is the perfect spot. Donna was more than accommodating and we enjoyed meeting her and spending time learning more about this idyllic Island. Donna's family's place next-door was a great place to have a drink or meal on the beach or relax on the hammock and lounge chairs at the end of each day. We love North Caicos!
Pelican Beach is the prefect spot to stay at North Caicos for few days if you look for a quite, fantastic beach for total relax.
This apartment is perfectly equipped with all the necessary, even with two snorkeling sets (a must for the site). Central AC, big rooms, fantastic terrace with ocean view, just steps away from the beach.
We loved it!
A car is mandatory, as all the other locations are far. Do not miss to visit Mudjin at Middle Caicos.
The perfect choice for few days of total relax!
We booked tickets to TCI almost in a random fashion (Where would Frequent Flier take us?). In the end we had one of the best most relaxing vacations ever. Much thanks to our accommodation at SeaLaVie that turned out to be the perfect choice for North Caicos. The apartment was clean and functional, location directly on the beach with a gorgeous view couldn’t have been better. The apartment is adjacent to the Pelican Beach Hotel and we were welcomed to use the amenities there as well.
We had two days just hanging around on “our” own beach. The reef is too far out for snorkeling. But we had great snorkeling from the beach, -grass beds with lots of life, broken off corals that were hosting many fish, curious barracudas and lots of live Queen Conch.
We also had great snorkeling around the Three Mary Cays that we drove to. Donna helped us to arrange a snorkeling/shelling to a reef area close to Middle Caicos –Amazing!
If you are travelling to North Caicos we would definitely recommend SeaLaVie, we will certainly stay here again.
General advice North Caicos:
To better explore the island we rented a Jeep. I would recommend a Jeep or at least high clearance in order to get to some of the beaches.
We brought some basic food from the U.S. to stretch our travel budget, in retrospective it was a bit difficult to find a restaurant that my kids would eat at, mostly seafood available. We wish we would have brought more supplies. However, the Barracuda Beach Bar at the Pelican Beach Hotel served great Hamburgers and fish sandwiches. We also had lunch at Daniels café. We bought our groceries at KJ’s close walk from the apartment.
-SeaLaVie was great (Thanks Donna)
-Beaches were great
-Shelling was great
-Snorkeling was great
-People were super friendly and nice
-Traffic signs: almost non-existent
