With a brand new washer and dryer (2023), A.C. in both the living room and bedroom, and ceiling fans throughout, unit 5-103 will make you feel right at home on Maui.

Kamaole Sands #5-103 has one of the best locations in the complex and will sleep up to 4 people. Located on the ground level directly located behind the pool area, the rear patio leads to an expansive lawn bordered on 3 sides providing a wonderful place to stretch your legs or children to safely play. The location also provides the perfect path for the cool trade breezes keeping the interior very comfortable.

Kamaole Sands is the premiere property in South Kihei. Located across the street from Kamaole Beach III. Whale watch, swim, snorkel, walk miles on the beach and watch the most amazing sunsets imaginable. There are 15 acres of lush tropical landscaping, waterscapes, and fountains. There's a fully-equipped gym / workout facility with an amazing view overlooking the pool area. In addition there is a large family style swimming pool, two hot tubs, a children's wading pool, and 10 barbecue areas with shaded picnic tables. Kamaole Sands features four tennis courts (no fee) with a daily drop-in program, Spinshot tennis ball machine, and weekly free clinic by a USPTA Pro. Adult and junior tennis rackets are available to rent with complimentary balls. Kamaole Sands offers 2 pickleball courts; paddles are available for rent and quiet pickleballs are available at no charge. Complimentary parking in a private, well-lit and security patrolled parking lot. Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations are available for a fee on a first come, first served basis.Wi-Fi available in most areas and a convenient cyber cafe is in the lobby. Activity area with ping pong, foosball, and other games for all ages -- free lending library. Free Maui News daily newspaper available at the pool area. Love the property, just not this unit

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 5-103 is a great location as it is ground floor and directly behind the pool for easy access. One thing to consider is building 5 directly faces west, so starting in the afternoon the sun starts beating in and makes the lanai and front area of condo hot and very sunny! Kamaole sands resort itself is absolutely beautiful, we’ve stayed in many different units throughout the years but this one definitely left us underwhelmed. VERY dated unit: popcorn ceiling, yellow/brown sponge paint throughout the unit made it feel dark/dingy, kitchen cabinets are sticky/tacky like they’ve been painted too many times, all furniture except the new sofa is all very worn, the cushions on the wicker dining chairs and the bedroom mattress desperately need replacement, very poor/dim lighting throughout the condo. There is a 2 hour timer on the AC unit which becomes inconvenient. We came home one afternoon to the unit being 86 degrees and takes about 30 minutes to cool down. You need to continuously turn the dial on the timer to make sure the unit stays comfortable. Other small inconveniences: the plastic handle on the outside of the lanai door is cracked so there’s really no handle to easily open it, the WiFi signal is very poor and doesn’t reach the bedroom and all the soap containers are refilled with mostly water. Check in process was great and Rentals Maui was kind enough to text us when the unit was ready 2 hours early. Check out process ended up being a bit more complicated than expected, but Cassandra was helpful in resolving the issues. Be advised although the check out instructions are somewhat vague, the cleaning crew expected the unit to be pretty much spotless. Also they keep an EXACT inventory list down to every fork and spoon, so be sure to replace everything exactly where you found it. Although we love Kamaole Sands, we would not stay in this particular unit again.

Kamaole Sands #5-103

We had a wonderful stay. The property, amenities, location, all matched the description. Beautiful grounds and vegetation. Three great beaches just across the street. Easy access to bus routes and a short walk to shops and restaurants. The unit was very comfortable with nice furnishings and a well stocked kitchen. Extremely clean. We highly recommend this property and hope that we can stay there again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rental property is in a location that we both really enjoy. We like long walks in the morning and the easy access to Kamaole park 3. The grounds at this complex are beautifully maintained. The condo itself in my opinion needs some updating. The hideabed was replaced from last year and the table. My biggest issue was the beds mattress. I am nearing 69 so my preference for comfort may differ from someone younger but waking up all night in discomfort from the bed has had to make me not return here. I can deal with broken floor tiles and a tub that was spray painted to cover the rust but a good nights sleep is too important to me. It is one of the most reasonably priced units at Kamaole sands.
