The house is a spacious modern Scandinavian style lodge on the edge of a holiday village comprising:
Large living room with sofas, TV with inbuilt DVD, dining area with table seating 8, patio door.
Well equipped kitchen with electric cooker, large fridge with freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery, glasses etc.
1 double and 1 twin bedroom downstairs, 1 double and 1 twin bedroom upstairs. Shower room/toilet downstairs, family bathroom with corner bath upstairs.
Patio at the rear is ideal for outdoor meals, overlooking adjoining farmland and countryside beyond.
Storage heaters in living room and double bedrooms plus electric heaters.
There is also an iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, clothes horse and pegs.
Various reading books, games, jigsaws and playing cards. Brochures, maps and general information about local attractions.
All bed linen is included. Please bring your own towels and tea towels.
Electricity is included in tariff.
High chair, travel cot and stair gate available for hire (£10 per item).
I had a lovely birthday weekend with all my friends. The house was absolutely lovely
We booked the house through HomeAway and had fantastic contact with Nigel & Julie Bell. We were looking for somewhere to stay near the South Coast for 8 adults and two dogs over the New Year’s break that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. The house was warm and clean when we arrived and we settled in quickly. The rooms were a fine size for each couple for a couple of days stay. The living area was a little cramped but that was due to the fact there was so many of us!! A good sized living area with lovely views from the lounge and large bedroom. We were out of the house every day discovering dog walks and a lovely pub about a mile away with good traditional pub food. There are so many places to walk in the area and the dogs loved it.
We found the nearest supermarket down the road which worked out well, and made a daily trip to.
We did visit the onsite swimming pool which was good fun and nice and quiet. We also made a quick stop at the onsite bar with entertainment on New Years eve. We only made a quick visit as it was not our scene, however it was packed and was perfect for many others.
We drove to Looe and Tavistock for trips out and would recommend visits to these towns. Looe was gorgeous and we spent New Years Day there.
Would recommend this house to anyone looking for stay in Cornwall/Devon and would definitely recommend Julie and Nigel. Would stay again.
Situated in a nice quiet position at the bottom of the park,with only a field in front,we watched deer in the field as we ate our breakfast each morning.the lodge itself exceeded our expectations.the quality decoration,soft furnishings and furniyure were all colour coordinated.The whole lodge was well maintained and clean,and was well equipped with family games and DVDS.We were surprised at just how spacious the place was with generous sized rooms and plenty of cupboard and drawer space.The keys to the house were in a key safe outside so we had immediate entry.There is a bar and restaurant on site,but we went to the local pub for a meal which was reasonably priced.we visited the Eden Project,which is a fantastic place.We also went to Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor.The owners had thoughtfully provided a box of pamphlets to local attractions.The house was warm with plenty of hot water,and very comfortable.We would recommend this to anybody and can't wait to go back again.
The lodge very much lived up to our requirements. juat two of us for the stay and our son joining us for the last night. the view is outstanding and the surrounding area offered many day trips out. The car was a must for days out but the local pub ( the rifle Volunteer ) a great place to eat fantastic food at very reasonable prices. Once you have found the footpath up past the donky sanctuary. many thanks to Julie and Nigel for a lovely home from home.

Very well laid out house, 2 bed rooms down stairs and 2 up.
Shower and toilet down stairs bath and toilet up.
Kitchen had everything you could need, even had a cork screw!
Easy to book, easy to communicate, easy to pay - no problems at all.
Bedrooms are very big upstairs, down stairs are a good size too, but up they are huge!
Plenty of room for all of us, and the beds are comfortable (no aching back in the morning). The view down the valley was very pretty, bearing in mind it was pouring down most of the time we were there, would be spectacular in sunshine.
Fishing at Milemead lakes a few miles away is definitely worth a visit or three.
Would, and will, recommend to friends and family (and anybody else).
A great place to stay and visit the surrounding area (car needed).

8 of us stayed recently at the property and had a lovely holiday with plenty of room for us all.
Comfortable accommodation with eevrything you need and more for a self catering break.

Excellent views over Dartmoor and surrounding villages, with lots of places to discover.
A car is a must to travel around, but having said that nothing was too far afield, especially the numerous pubs in the vicinity.
We enjoyed our stay in the house and area so much we wouldn't mind a place of our own there.

Overlooking the Tamar Valley which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and World Heritage Site, our property is about halfway between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, so an ideal base for exploring the area. Less crowded than most of Cornwall there are many footpaths, nature reserves and natural features to explore apart from the better known tourist attractions such as Morwellham Quay and National Trust properties at Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Buckland Abbey. Both North (Tintagel, Boscastle, Padstow)and South (Looe, Polperro, Fowey) coasts are within easy reach and the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are only about 30 miles away. The ancient market towns of Tavistock, Launceston and Liskeard are close by and historic Plymouth is less than half an hour's drive.
Golf: St Mellion International course is about 10 minutes drive away.
Hurdwick Golf Club is north of Tavistock, perhaps 15 minutes drive, and welcomes non-members.
