About the property

A two bedroom beach side cottage/chalet for up to four people.

A contemporary style cottage/chalet which has been renovated to a very high standard and is located only fifty paces from a stunningly beautiful sandy beach. The living room looks out across ten acres of grassland and to the dunes and the sea beyond. This area is quiet even during the peak summer season and there is always lots of space and places to visit to enjoy yourself.

The veranda catches the sun during the morning and until mid afternoon and comes equipped with deckchairs, table and chairs.

The living room/dining and kitchen area is open plan and is light and airy. The well equipped kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and washing machine.

The bathroom has a large walk-in shower which has been fitted with the less able bodied in mind.

Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed and bedroom 2 has two single beds.

There is electric heating throughout the cottage and the cost of this is included in the rental.

Bacton has a good fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway “Seastar”. Also pubs within walking distance serving pub food. Poacher’s Pocket and Lighthouse Inn, Vernon Arms at Southrepps,The Gunton Arms, The Swan at Ingham, The Olive Branch at Tunstead and The Olive Tree at North Walsham. A fish restaurant in Cromer and Morston Hall and Wayford Bridge Inn all serve great food. There are more places to add but you will find a list at the property.

Small chalet type cottage. Very comfortable for two people.

Just off the beach at rainbows end. Very quiet and peaceful. Extremely clean, and really well thought out. We had plenty of space for the two of us but it would be cramped for four people as the second bedroom is poor on storage. We walked on the prom each morning before breakfast and hardly saw anyone. Sitting out on the verandah facing the morning sunshine was perfect. We could not have asked for anything more.

Well equipped and nicely decorated chalet. Clean and well maintained.

Great location for families with the lovely sandy beach 2 minutes walk away and a grassy area/ play area opposite. Lots to see and do within 30 minutes drive. (2 National Trust properities, walks around broads, seaside resorts). Bacton village has a good playground about 10 minutes walk away (left off the main road - opposite Beach road junction)

Would recommend this particular chalet without reservation.

VERY RELAXING

The property was very cosy, clean and well maintained.Two small shops, pub and excellant chip shop all in walking distance.

Unfortunatley the weather was not very kind to us so could not make the most of the beautiful beach that is on hand.

A good holiday very relaxing.

The property sits on the wonderful North Norfolk coast with miles of beautiful sandy beaches and lots of local woodland walks. There are many historic buildings and gardens to visit and there is a wealth of varied activities for youngsters.

Eating out is generally reasonably priced and the locally caught fish and Cromer crabs are acclaimed throughout the land. There are two pubs within walking distance, each with its own restaurant, and there is a good general store and a fish and chip shop just down the road.

Walcott, the nearest next village has a good post office/ grocery store if you can't find what you want at Bacton general store.

For wildlife enthusiasts this part of the country boasts several nature reserves and seals are a common sight off the beach directly in front of the cottage.

The Norfolk Broads offer an opportunity to take to the water and self-drive boats are available for hire at several places nearby - trips aboard larger boats also run throughout the season.

Tourist Attractions:

Blickling Hall is a magnificent Jacobean house with a garden and park. The Hall is famed for its long gallery, fine tapestries, paintings and rare books. There’s parkland and lakeside walks plus a sunken garden to discover. Reputedly home to the headless ghost of Anne Boleyn.

Or visit Holkham Hall a superb Palladian house and ancestral home of the Earls of Leicester. Set in acres of parkland Holkham Hall has cafes and shops and events all year round.

Overstrand is an attractive East Norfolk coastal village, situated on a cliff-top overlooking fine sandy beaches and to take in the fine coastal views of the sea and beach below, including a lovely cliff-top path taking you right into Cromer, about one and a half miles away.Don't miss out on a meal at the White Horse.

And finally visit Cromer Museum where you will find a cosy Victorian fisherman’s cottage with a recreation of 19th century life in Cromer. It has a geology gallery of amazing fossils found in Norfolk, childrens’ workshops, natural history walks and Victorian Living History days.The Rock Cafe has lovely scones and great meals overlooking the beach.

Eating and Drinking:Try the Keswick Hotel in Bacton. Great food is produced from great ingredients. With a strong commitment to fresh, seasonal and local produce the menu offers a good choice.

Or try The Lighthouse Inn Pub and Restaurant a short drive away in the village of Walcott. Their menu includes a variety of vegetarian options and a great healthy children’s menu, which has been designed to cater for children’s tastes and health requirement.

Or you can enjoy a leisurely walk from the chalet/cottage to Poacher's pocket which is situated right on the beach, overlooking the sea .This family pub has much to offer including large bar areas, dart board and pool tables, two large TV screens, weekend live entertainment, upstairs restaurant with sea views (or you can enjoy your meals outside overlooking the sand).

Food store: The nearest supermarket is Sainsbury’s in North Walsham which is 4 miles away or even Waitrose now availale so, why not pre-order your grocery delivery ready for your arrival at the Chalet/Cottage.

Sports and Activities: Sailing tuition and charter with Norfolketc. There’s private tuition and private charter on offer at this family-run watersports centre in Blakeney Harbour. Windsurfing & sailing with North Shore. North Shore offers a range of watersports including windsurfing and sailing from their base at Brancaster Staithe.

For a round of Golf visit Mundesley Golf Club and sits on the rolling hillside of the River Mun valley and enjoys panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. The nine-hole course, with 18 tees, provides a variety of tests for members and guest’s alike, from the deceptive par three 1st with its tricky, slick green, to the aptly named Sea View par five .

Further afield, the North Norfolk Riding Centre offers lessons for all ages from beginners upwards. It also offers hacking in beautiful countryside. Occasional rides at Holkham for experienced riders only.

Cycle hire company near Wells is On Yer Bike and comfortable mountain cycle hire, the Wells and Holkham Circuit Route Maps, pump, puncture repair kit,cycle locks & baskets all inclusive.
