About Zoe Anderson
We're a family from London, UK who decided it would be fun to own our own holiday home after getting fed up renting sub-standard properties overseas. We've always loved Italy and fell in love with Le Marche for its charming purity.
Zoe Anderson purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Zoe Anderson chose Mogliano
We wanted a home from home so we've done our best to make everything cosy, comfortable or essential for holiday fun. We searched high and low for somewhere that was easy to reach. We wanted our own private space but didn't want to be too cut off from civilisation and sought shops, bars and restaurants all within easy reach. As we use the property all year round we can enjoy the mountains, beach and long country strolls any time the mood takes us.
What makes this Villa unique
We fell in love with the house instantly because it was so typical of the area. Even before the house was renovated when we had no running water and windows were a distant dream we just loved gazing through the pine trees, over the fields to the distant mountains.

The perfect base for a family break in this incredible and surprising part of Italy
We had a fantastic time at Casa Lucciola. We know the region reasonably well and have been visiting Le Marche for ten years or so now. This was our best trip yet, and we ended up wishing we’d found this house years ago!
Our 3 kids (8, 6, and 4) loved the garden, the trampoline, and especially the swing chair, and while the pool was of course a little chilly in April, it was a challenge keeping our eldest out of it. We made daily visits to the brilliant sandy beach at Porto San Giorgio (an easy 35 minute drive) and explored a number of the towns between the house the coast. You’ll find brilliant food, wine, ice cream and hospitality wherever you go. But Il Quadrifoglio on the beach at Porto San Giorgio; Altramare just a block behind; Osteria del’Arco in Magliana di Tenna are all restaurants serving food of a very high standard, that would be twice the price in Tuscany or elsewhere. The best Ice Cream we found was in the beautiful town square at Servigliano.
This really is a wonderful part of Italy. It works superbly well year-round as a base for beaches and the mountains, and it’s a pleasure simply to get in the car (or on your bike if that way inclined) and see where the road takes you.
Thank you to Zoe (and Maja!) for making this such a great place to stay.
Always great to hear families have loved staying at the house and have loved the surrounding area.
Fabulous house in a wonderful part of Italy. The house is beautifully decorated and we loved the outdoor eating area and large gated garden. Just wish it was warm enough during our stay to use the pool. Next time!
Lovely house, great town, beautiful surroundings.
Thank you for being adorable guests - so glad you enjoyed the house and the surrounding area.
Lovely, comfortable holiday home.
Set in a valley in a very rural location, the house is very well equipped. Spent many hours sitting around the large kitchen table whilst one of us would be preparing dinner. Local food and wine very good. Unfortunately couldn't avail ourselves of sitting outside after late afternoon as the Mosquitos were a problem, despite Jungle formula and burners. The owners also provided a drawer of repellant stuff. Thank you.
Swimming pool was lovely. All regularly attended to.
House also kept very clean.
Wine, milk and some food was awaiting our arrival..again many thanks.
Housekeeper was excellent and responded to queries immediately.
Only slight quibble would be that the sheets on the beds were duvet covers, so not really sufficient to cover comfortably on the occasional cooler night and the mattress protectors need washing between guests.
There was always lots of hot water..it never ran out, despite being such a large group.
Lovely holiday..many thanks for sharing your ' away home '
Thank you for the 5 star review and I'll pass on your recommendations to the lovely Maja.
Beautiful, family friendly country house
Casa Lucciola is the perfect house for families. The location is peaceful, interiors elegant and comfortable, grounds large and well equipped.
We loved the children's room with all the toys and books (our children were in heaven discovering the hampers full of brio, Lego, K' next and dolls) but the huge DVD library, pool and trampoline ensured that there was always something to do.
There are some wonderful restaurants in the area and the house book was really useful. The owners clearly love this house and it is very well maintained - not your usual holiday let.
Thank you so much for a blissful holiday.
Idyllic location and house.....
I cried when we left....what an amazing home you have in an incredible place. We will definitely be back.....I think I've found where I'd like to retire to. Mogliano and the area around are just beautiful...what a discovery.
Casa Lucciola is on a flat farm road surrounded by fields with distant views of the Sibillini Mountains. It’s a five minute drive from the pretty town of Mogliano, near Macerata. Here you'll find plenty of charm, local shops, cafe bars, restaurants and a weekly market. The town offers great views of Le Marche best enjoyed with an ice cream from the local gelateria. The house is in a great location for exploring this beautiful part of central Italy. Some of our favourite things to see and do are:
The beaches and the view over the Adriatic from Monte Conero
Feasting on delicious seafood after a day at the beach at Porto San Giorgio
Swimming in crystal clear waters and hiring canoes in Lake Fiastra
Hiking, skiing or mountain biking in the Sibillini Mountains
Outdoor opera at Sferisterio, Macerata
Designer outlet shopping
Just wandering though the charming old towns
Visiting village festivals, vineyards and markets
Long lunches with great food and wine
