Maïon dou Rousier is a fully restored, 17th century stone village house, situated in the heart of the enchanting village of Haut de Cagnes. It is surrounded by houses with either stone facades, or painted in the traditional provencal chalk colours of terracotta or ochre. On the top floor, the house has a large living- and dining area as well as one big roof terrace and a small breakfast terrace. An old fireplace is the centre piece of the living-room, equipped with two sofas and a stereo. The dining-room seats 6. The kitchen is recently rebuilt and fully equipped. There are two bedrooms in the house, both with their own showers and wc. The master bedroom on the ground floor has a double bed, while the downstairs guestroom has two single beds that can be put together to form a double bed. The house is very well kept, and carefully renovated in the traditional style. From the roof terrace, you have a stunning view over the Mediterranean and Cap d´Antibes, but also to the Alpes Mountains. Cagnes sur Mer is close to many famous places like Cannes, Nice, Antibes, St Paul de Vence... The airport is at 20 min driving. The bus station is 5 min walking from the house. The train station is 15 min walking.
Not far from the village,you can visit Auguste Renoir's last house, it's wonderful garden with secular olive trees and a beautiful view to the sea. In yhe area there are many museums and art galeries. You could also enjoy the mediterranean cuisine with great flavour.
The sea and beaches are 10 min driving or 20 min walking. There is free shuttle bus (N° 44) which runs all day long from the new town to the medieval village. The nearest bus stop at 50 meters from the house. During the summer, you can take another free shuttle bus to go to the beach from the center of the town. So a car is not necessary.
There are over 15 golf courses within half an hour´s drive. Skiing is about 1,5 hours away.
