About Lee Sherman
This propery was originally part of the Idlepine Lodge resort, operated 1922-1968, divided up into lot parcels in 1970's. Owner grew up spending summers here and eventually inherited property in 1988 from grandparents. We reside here in the summer and spend winters in Vero Beach, Florida.
Lee Sherman purchased this Cottage in 1988
Why Lee Sherman chose West Fairlee
It is a peaceful lake where you can kayak, canoe, paddle board and relax. It is a perfect lake for water skiing. We are nestled in a cove where you can swim laps or swim out to our float.
What makes this Cottage unique
Lake Fairlee is my favorite place in the whole world with beautiful views of the Green Mountains. The lake looks like glass in the early morning hours and while you sip your coffee you can hear the loons calling to each other. In early fall you awake to a thick fog which burns off as the morning continues.

Great location, solid amenities.
Love the water access, the canoe and paddle boat. The cottage suites our needs perfectly with everything you need including a grill and well supplied kitchen. Works well.
Wonderful lake property!
My family spent a week at this cabin while our children attended day camp at Dartmouth College. The cabin was lovely and the lake was gorgeous. We enjoyed the dock on the water and the kayaks. My kids were crazy for the trampoline! The property is located near a Girls Summer Camp, it was fun to hear and see the girls enjoying the outdoors. The owners were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
Great location for a family weekend
We had a terrific and relaxing time at this lakefront property. The kids loved using the boats and swimming out to the floating dock. Lee and Norman were great hosts who live right next door if you have any questions, and the place itself was charming and very comfortable. We had a great family weekend! Thanks for the hospitality!
Cozy cottage, cute and clean. The owners are nice and respectful. My only negative was that I expected a more private place right on the lake and did not realize the cottage was behind the main house set back from the lack.
My girlfriend and dog and I had a very nice time there. Lee is very welcoming and our stay was perfect. Caught to many fish to count! Overall really pleased!
You 3 are welcome here any time. But I hope you aspire to catching the 7th kind of fish in our lake: thebrown trout!!!
Peaceful and Comfortable
This lovely cabin was the perfect place to spend a relaxing long weekend. It is beautifully located, the porch has a nice view of the lake, and the cabin is a good size for a family. The furniture, especially the master bed, is so comfortable. The seating on the porch was also very comfortable. We had a great time, thank you!
So glad you enjoyed your mini-vacation here in Vermont. We hope you come back, and...bring Heidi, your beautiful dog.
We are on Lake Fairlee, upper Connecticutt River Valley, a most beautiful, scenic area. Dartmouth College is 30 miles away with museums, restaurants and other cultural events. Must sees are: Cabot Cheese Creamery, Shelburn Farm and Museum and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory. Lots of scenic views and antiquing along the way. Fall foliage easily visible from across lake.
