There is simply nothing else like La Forêt Stevenson and this residence 'sur la roche'.
The Stevenson family purchased this property in 2003 and have enjoyed large events with family and friends gathering for the last 10 years.
Only recently have they decided to open this very unique property up for rental to clients seeking luxury accommodations in a tranquil and private setting.
Jade Stevenson purchased this chateau / country house in 2003
This is a most unique property in the Laurentian Mountains of Southern Quebec. The 230 acre domaine is a four-season playground packed with features and opportunities for endless adventures and exploration.
Whether you plan to sit under a tree and read a book, fly fish for trout, birdwatch, or absorb the indescribable views, sunsets and stars, this is the ideal location.
The two private lakes offer the option to go kayaking or canoeing, fishing or swimming (non-motorized only) or just lazing around on the docks.
The massive fire pits at the lakes offer the opportunity to gather large groups around a blazing fire in the quiet and serenity of the Laurentian outdoors.
Families of white-tailed deer have also made their home at La Forêt Stevenson and are curious to meet new visitors to the property.
For those explorers who visit la forêt there are endless places to discover, including ancient caves and challenges cliffs.
"Breathtaking" does not describe the environment and the view. Absolutely a perfect home to spend thanksgiving weekend with my family.
The home was spottless, wellkept, very well equiped... many perks like the robes that kept us warm going into the spa, the fresh linens, loads of firewood that allowed the huge fireplace to burn all weekend, the large BBQ that allowed us to cook 6 steaks all at once.
The access to both private lakes was just the perfect walk away. We enjoyed the canoes, kayaks and paddleboats. Even the fishing was successful. We definitely will be going back to this one..... maybe for a winter weekend and definetely for a summer weekend.
Absolutely worth every dollar.... do not hesitate
My husband, two friends and I stayed at the property for 8 nights in early August. The pictures are accurate and representative of the property. We all loved the property. The view from the deck is outstanding. Some mornings a fog was in the valley and would burn off with the rising sun. The deck faces west so you get lovely sunsets. There are 2 private lakes on the property - one you can see in the pics and the one on the other side of the hill which is just a short walk from the house (you can also drive there). There is a swimming dock in the middle of the lake and there are also kayaks, peddle boats, paddle boards, life jackets available which made it a fun time.
We cooked at the house for a few nights. My husband loved the BBQ grill - it was large and cooked very quickly. We live in an apt in the city where BBQ aren't allowed so it was a treat for him. The owners just installed a washer / dryer so that was a nice surprise and we used it after rafting on the River Rouge where we were thoroughly soaked.
Mt Tremblant has 3 sections (ski village, center village and old village). It is just a few minutes drive to each of them with Center Village being the closest. Center Village has the most restaurants and 3 large grocery stores (C Town, Metro, IGA). Our best dining experience was in the old village Restaurant Le St Louis - delicious food and the chef was able to adapt a recipe for me as I was the only vegan in the group.
The kitchen was well stocked except for Tupperware. My friend who is quite the cook loved the pots and pans they had. There are spices and oil available. It has a fireplace and a hot tub - but it was too warm for us to partake. At night opening up the screened windows brought lovely cross breeze through the house.
The owners were very responsive both during the booking process and when we were on site. The switches to some of the kitchen lights are in unusual places - ask them to show you where they all are during the walk through :)
We flew in to Montreal - it's approximately 1.5 hrs drive to Mt Tremblant. Make sure you rent an SUV. It is a two mile dirt and gravel road going up the hill to the house.
The national park is nearby and has 3 main entrances, ranging from 40 minutes drive away to approx 2 hrs. There are some beautiful hikes at all levels.
We loved the place and did not want to leave and go back home to the city. We would gladly stay here again next time we come to the area
We had a wonderful time at the place. The views from were breathtaking and well worth the trip alone. The amenities were numerous and sufficient for everyone in our group. We had a minor issue with the property when we first arrived, but the owners were quick to address it and made every effort to make sure our stay was pleasant. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a more secluded hang out with an awesome view. This is definately a place I would consider coming back again.
Wow! I was intrigued with the photos within this listing as my family planned for an overdue vacation. I was slightly concerned that the photos had to be overstating the beauty of this unique mountaintop chalet. My family was stunned that the photos were actually understated. I can not describe watching the early morning fog rolling over the hills enjoying a cup of coffee or the intensity of watching from the upper balcony as a lightning storm move in from miles away.
The only thing more impressive than the property is the kindness of the owners. We were made to feel as we were visiting friends rather than paying customers. Jade and Chelsea actually mailed one of my boy's basketball jersey that chose to stay behind. Many thanks, and we will definitely be back.
If you are looking to escape from the city and appreciate privacy, you are unlikely to find a better place to stay than this home. House is in great condition and will comfortably host a large family. Unlikely to find such breathtaking views from your balcony. Also, there are private lakes on the property. Will definitely be back in the future.
Forget the Blueberry Lakes and other cookie-cutter log home resorts from Tremblant...this property will exceed all your expectations of a stay in the Laurentians. The house is truly a small castle - decorated with great taste and carefully planned, with each level offering its own surprises. From the indoor waterfall in the basement to the large fireplace on the main floor to the upstairs office overlooking the entire valley, you will simply enjoy being and relaxing in the house. And the views...the panoramic deck offers a spectacular view for sunrise and sunset overlooking the valley and the lake below. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook gourmet meals (we particularly loved the Vitamix...) and all beds were cozy and made with fine quality linens. The walks along the property to the lake were a nice way to stretch our legs after being curled up on the sofa by the fire - and there are even fire pits at both lakes for an impromptu bonfire and hot dog roast.
Finally, the owners were truly a pleasure to deal with - from the initial contact all the way to our arrival to the house. We really appreciated that he took the time to show us around and tell us more about the property.
Definitely a must-see, and planning to come back in the summer!
The picturesque charm of the resort and the neighbouring villages, the diversity and the modernity of its sporting and leisure installations, the quality of its lodging, the sophistication of its gastronomy, the savoir-faire of its artisans: everything leads to imperishable memories!
Your hosts will welcome you in a joyful atmosphere and contagious joie de vivre proper to Quebec. Here, we’re used to say: “Visitors are members of the family!”
