Family friendly and completely remodeled lake house enjoys modern conveniences

About Brian and Kathleen Trojan
It has always been a dream of mine to own a lakeside home for my young family of four and last year I turned that dream into a reality when I bought a cottage that needed updating. As children, my wife and I spent summers at the lake and wanted the same for my two kids, both under the age of 3. We spent most of last year working on the place and we were able to completely remodel the home, gutting it down to the studs and rebuild it with our future in mind. We are now sharing the place with others to recoup some of the investment we put into the home. My wife and I take pride in making sure you have an excellent stay and want you to fully enjoy the experience! Thanks, Brian and Kathleen

Why Brian and Kathleen Trojan chose Groton
Located in desirable Groton (made famous by the prestigious Lawrence Academy) the home is situated on an over-200 acre fully recreational lake called Lost Lake that feels like it belongs in serene northern NH. Easily accessible by 495, Route 2 or Route 3 with quick access to Boston (45 mins), Nashua NH (20 mins) and Worcester (40 mins). Our neighborhood is very quiet and residential, most guests end up spending relaxing days by the lake swimming, relaxing on the beach or watersports on the lake. Tranquil, child-friendly escape
As a family of three, including a toddler, we had a wonderful week at this home. A crib and gate on the deck made the house especially child-friendly. The homeowners were kind and responsive when we had questions, and the home itself is small but really comfortable, clearly with a recent remodel. We loved the deck and the view of the lake from the living area & main bedroom. The small private beach is sandy with clear water. Our little one loved all the little fishies swimming around her legs and watching people speed by on boats. We’d be happy to stay again!
A very relaxing and beautifully kept home.
We were pleasantly surprised how close in proximity to all of the historical sites and areas of interest we wanted to see to this beautifully kept little home! We broke up our days with rest in between seeing the historic sites as well as hiking. While we rested at the house we really appreciated how accessible the pond was from the house. We enjoyed paddling and exploring in the available canoe. We also felt peace of mind knowing that Brian was just a phone call away when needed. Everything is very well kept, clean, organized and tastefully decorated. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you😊
Great stay - clean and a great stay overall
We arrived and was pleasantly surprised on the cleanliness of the place. Great little place with a great view of the lake from the deck.
The owners were great to work with and responded in a timely manner to any questions we had. They were very accommodating by letting us use a pack in play as we had 2 small children. Very nice of them and was above and beyond what we expected.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Very cozy and nicely located
Our family enjoyed our stay here and we look forward to returning during the warmer months to take advantage of the lake. We found the location to be very good for visiting family in different parts of Central Mass. The home is well-stocked for a short or long stay, we would definitely stay here again.
Nicely updated cottage on a beautiful lake.
My wife and I were traveling with our 3 kids and wanted to give them a private lakeside experience and this place did not disappoint. You are on a shared lot with 2 other cottages but we definitely felt like we had enough privacy.
Although it is small at only 650sf, it was plenty of room for our family as the couch pulled out to sleep two of the three kids. Our teen had the second bedroom to himself and my wife and I slept in the master, which again was small but the bed was super comfortable.
They did a really nice job upgrading the cottage and has a "wow" factor when you walk into the front door. The views are gorgeous and there are plenty of amenities to make your stay very comfortable. We made use of the canoe one day to explore the lake (which is also gorgeous) and fished off the dock where we could easily catch bluegill using worms and a bobber. The kids had a blast.
There is a Shaw's right down the street for groceries. If you want to take day trips, It is about a 45 min drive to Boston, 20-30 mins to southern NH (depending on where you are going) and about 1.5 hours to the entrance of the Cape down 495.
Brian and Kathleen were great hosts. Very friendly and plenty of communication to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They even left us supplies to make smores at the fire pit, which we thought was very sweet.
All in all, great place, great location, great hosts, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a lakeside experience that is centrally located.
For a week we nestled into this lovely lake-side hill-side cottage. The space worked very well for us since we could do much of our living out doors. All our meals happened on the deck which with a gate was perfect so our 1 year old grandson could be free to play while we ate. The private beach provided lots of cool waterside shade and a great place to do sand play. We all agreed this would be a place we would happily return to. Thanks to Brian and Kathleen for being such gracious hosts.
