About John L Gile
John Gile purchased this property over ten years ago as it had been built by his ancestors in the early 1800s Since that time John has enjoyed sharing the home with his family and friends.
John L Gile purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2003
Why John L Gile chose Franklin
We purchased this home because it had been built by our great-great-great-great grand father in 1804. The Home stayed within our family until the early 1900's. We love this home as a place for family gatherings over holidays such as July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique

My family and I really enjoyed our time there. We had so much fun and the kids too, they had a lot of space to run and play around.
Thank you for everything. 😃
Wonderful family reunion location!
We had a fantastic stay at the farmhouse.
The home is very rustic, but also large, and very comfortable. We had a group of roughly 15 plus local family members visiting and we never felt crowded. Lots of small rooms to get away and larger rooms for entertaining bigger groups. Between the sunroom and the dining room there is probably dinner seating for 19-20 people in the summer, 12 in the winter. The rooms are filled with interesting memorabilia and extremely comfortable furniture. The beds, sheets, pillows, and towels are high quality. Our group was from Florida so we don’t tolerate cold well, but between the fireplace and the heat being on we were plenty warm even with temps in the 40s. There are also modern space heaters and fans in most bedrooms in case it’s actually cold outside.
All in all our trip was wonderful and we would gladly stay here again!
Thank you so much for visiting Gile Road. We are very pleased you had a nice reunion at the property. From our family to yours, thank you again. We hope to have you with us again. Best -

Beautiful character property
This is such a unique house. We were two families needing space to chill out befor New Year, and loved the time we spent together at Gile Road. John the owner, and Aaron the maintenance guy, were both super responsive and helpful. In particular we appreciated the well equipped kitchen, making it easy to cook for twelve people. Thank you John for opening this beautiful house to us.
Happy New Year and thank you for visiting Gile Road. We are happy to have the house filled with family and friends for the Holidays. We hope you can join us again. To a beautiful 2019!
