The apartment has 2 bedrooms, all with pillow top queen sized beds. Fully furnished kitchen, laundry facilities. All linens provided. Televisions/cable and Wifi provided. Access to guides for world class hunting and fishing charters, both on and off the road system. Walking distance to historical Fort Abercrombie State Park and the Military History Museum.
Anita moved to Kodiak in her 20's to work in a cannery making money for college. After three days she knew she'd never leave...the rest, as they say, is history. She met and married her late husband, a native Alaskan and life long Kodiak resident. Together they had three sons who still live and work on the island as commercial fishermen. Anita enjoys sharing her love of the island with her guests.

2 Loon's Bay is a quite relaxing retreat. It is located on beautiful Mill Bay, just outside the city limits. We are 3 miles from the downtown area with it's many restaurants, museums, gift shops and boat harbors. Hiking trails abound in Kodiak. A few minutes walk and you are in historical Fort Abercrombie State Park. Stroll beneath moss covered trees to Lake Gertrude or out to the beach for some island beachcombing!
A late season silver salmon run is just steps from your front door! You can fish, beachcomb or just sit back on the black sand beach, relax and absorb all of nature's beauty!
First of all, our hostess, was exceptional. She made sure that we had everything we needed, answered our questions, and shared information about Kodiak. The rental was perfect for us as it was private, quiet, and located in a nice neighborhood with beachfront property. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the large, comfortable deck and watching the boats. It was a good place to plan our day. The apartment was roomy, spotless, and very comfortable. It really felt like "coming home" after a day out exploring and enjoying the beautiful island. The washer and dryer were a real plus and the full kitchen was stocked with most of the staples you might need so that you would not have to run to the store as soon as you arrived. We would definitely recommend it and plan to come back. Thank you Anita...it was great meeting you!!
My in-laws visited us from South Dakota. This was the perfect setup. Full kitchen, w/d, and a view of the bay. It has the feel of a home. The onsite hostess is welcoming and available for needs or questions about Kodiak. There is an outdoor fire pit, and a deck where you can sit and visit and enjoy your beautiful view. I would absolutely book again!
Well maintained property. Spotlessly clean. Quiet, private location in the neighborhood. Lovely hostess who took time with us to visit on the large garden deck overlooking the water just across the street. Washer, dryer and full kitchen were a big plus for us.
Anita's home away from home, truly was that, we felt right at home. The place had 2 bedrooms which was fantastic for us and the kids not all over
the top of each other like in a motel, easy access to the beach and a view to die for. Not a lot of traffic human or vehicle. I would recommend this place to anyone couples or family's. Anita made our stay truly a once in a lifetime experience!
Anita's place was just perfect for our family of four! After long days of fishing we would return to nice cozy beds, hot showers and a kitchen to cook our catch in. Having the washer and dryer was alos a blessing because clothes do get dirty when you are out and about in Kodiak.
The view from the decking is gorgeous... you first can see Anita's beautiful garden and past that the beach. From there you can watch incredible sunrises, watch eagles land on the trees to eat their catch and listen to the sound of the surf.
Anita was so easy to deal with... when I left I felt like I was leaving a friend behind. She even brought us a rhubarb and strawberry crunch with ice cream on Father's Day! It was sooo good and the fruit came from her garden.
I highly recommend this place to people who are not into the hotel scene... but please do not take all the dates because I want to return!
This is a great place to stay. From the moment that I first met Anita, she was amazing. She inquired about my interests while I was here on the island and told me where I could go to meet those interests. She had great suggestions on places to eat and see as well as companies here on the island that have good reputations for flight seeing, kayaking and whale watching. As for the accommodations, the place is very nice. It is very quiet, has a kitchenette, washer and dryer and is a great place to relax. If you book a stay with Anita, you will not be disappointed.
