We have lived in EagleVail for almost 20 years and we would not live anywhere else! Kari is director/owner of an outdoor preschool called Nurturing With Nature and Mike works as a carpenter in the summer months and in Austria working for the Austrian Ski Team in the winter months. We Spend 7 weeks in Europe together in December/January and like to rent our home out during that time.
Kari Corbin purchased this house in 2004
We have owned this property for almost 11 years and have been lovingly updating it room by room. We bought it because we loved the layout and the lot situated on the 2nd hole of the EagleVail golf course, it is very sunny year round and we love to nordic ski in our backyard on the nordic track, or snowshoe up the many trails.
We love our sunny driveway in the front and snowy sledding hill in our back yard. We spend many evenings swinging on our chairlift swing around our gas fire pit.
Great kitchen! Some folks complained about the day care set up in the basement but it was perfect for us and our two little kiddos. Tons of toys and space to spread out. The upstairs is a great cost setting to gather apres ski for a meal and a beer.
ok, how can I start ?? The house is very well have good finishes, very nice kitchen, nice TV room, master bedroom large and acceptable, basement rooms, very, very bad.
to reach the house walked through the garage with the code we got and so we continue entering our entire stay, as never found the key to the front door and the remote control of the garage was not where they said.
The heating was scheduled to drop to 64 degrees and at night the basement rooms were colder than a freezer, which is why my children could not sleep there, plus the basement rooms had closets full of clothes and there was no place to put your clothes and luggage, are full of toys, dolls, and school material (it is a nursery for children). in the kitchen oven the trays were dirty, the garage is full of things and hardly entered my car. no one ever showed up to see if everything was OK.
Ahh!! In the basement principal room was the heater and make a lot if noise.
Owner was very accommodating of requests and the location of the property is perfect for Vail and Beaver Creek skiing. Very convenient to the town of Avon. Kitchen was remodeled and fully equipped to cook homemade meals. Common space was nice and had a wood burning fireplace.
As far as "bedrooms" go.... There is a loft upstairs that has a king bed and an old bathroom that was not clean upon arrival. The owner runs a day care out of the basement, where the second and third bedrooms are located. There are toys, books, costumes, etc. over every square inch of the basement. There are two bedrooms - one with a twin bed and one with a twin bed and a trundle bed. The rooms are crammed with kid's toys and there is not a lot of room to put luggage or spread out. Further, there is a queen bed in the main room of the basement with no nightstands, small lamps or outlets to charge cell phones. There is no door or privacy where the queen bed is located. Bedding was old and pilled. The only redeeming quality of the basement area, where a majority of the beds are, is that the bathroom is remodeled.
I think I would have been ok with this property if there were pictures of the basement online. We were very disappointed when we go there to find the condition of the basement bedrooms.
