Park your car and leave it when you escape to our two bedroom/two bathroom “Alpenview Suite” located in the best spot in Breckenridge. The Village at Breckenridge is one of only a very few complexes that is both ski-in/ski-out AND a stone’s throw to the town’s Main Street historic district. Facing southwest and bathed in tons of natural sunlight, our top floor corner unit seven stories above the Blue River has spectacular views from every window. While grilling out on your large private deck, enjoy a commanding 270 degree vista that stretches from Mount Baldy to Quandary Peak to the world-class runs of Breckenridge Ski Resort. Inside, we’ve completely remodeled our 1,200 square foot home-away-from-home with brand new carpet, furnishings, lighting, electronics, mattresses, and linens. Our suite features a wonderfully appointed kitchen with full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and range, along with a crockpot, griddle, blender, toaster, and coffee maker. The large living and dining room area has a romantic gas stone fireplace, huge 60” TV with DIRECTV service and Blu-ray DVD player. Don’t feel like venturing out in the cold? You can “virtually” ski using our Wii gaming system. (We have 17 Wii games to choose from…or feel free to bring your own.) The upgraded queen-sized memory foam mattress on the leather sleeper sofa makes for a much better night’s rest than an average couch. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed with Simmons Beautyrest mattress, ceiling fan, LED TV with Blu-ray player, separate tub and vanity areas, large walk-in closet, and direct access to the deck. Enjoy your morning coffee in the sitting area under the huge picture window, or curl up in a blanket in one of the comfy deck chairs. The second bedroom features two queen-sized beds with Sealy Templeton mattresses, ceiling fan, LED TV, separate bathroom, and its own private balcony. Free wireless internet throughout the suite. In addition, our guests have access to all the on-site amenities of the Village, including a fitness center with locker rooms, showers and exercise equipment, heated indoor/outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, hot tubs, heated parking garage, ski rental, lift ticket office, ski school, medical clinic and more! And if all this isn’t enough, only one block separates Alpenview Suite from Breckenridge’s abundant shops, restaurants, art galleries, theaters, bars, and nightclubs!

Why Joe Ward chose Breckenridge Area

We’re not a hotel chain or big corporation…just a family whose dream was always to own property in the mountains. We love Breckenridge because it’s a real town with a real history dating back to 1859, much of which has been carefully preserved in Colorado’s largest historic district. The skiing is fabulous, but the summers have kept us coming back since 1999. You CANNOT get bored here: outside of the amazing array of winter sports (downhill skiing, cross-county skiing, heli-skiing, snowboarding, sledding, snowshoeing, tubing, ice skating, snowmobiling, dogsledding, ice climbing, sleigh riding), there’s a dizzying array of 3-season outdoor activities like hiking, climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding, golfing, white water rafting, kayaking, ballooning, swimming, running, tennis…pretty much something for everyone! Our condo is a great, peaceful escape for our family, and we’re anxious to share it with you on your next mountain vacation!

What makes this condo unique

This condo gives our family of six room to spread out. The bedrooms are separated by the living room and entryway, affording a lot of privacy. The location of the Village at Breckenridge can't be beat...ski-in for lunch and walk to just about everything in town. Located next to the paved Blue River bike trail, Breckenridge Children's Museum, 2 blocks to Riverwalk Performing Arts Center, 3 blocks to nearest grocery/liquor stores, 4 blocks to ice rink, 5 blocks to Breckenridge Arts District

Excellent location

We had a great time in Breckenridge and really appreciated the location and amenities of this unit. I liked the heated parking, if you are going to have a vehicle, it was nice not having to scrape the car each day. Bathrooms were updated but a little too small for my family and the temp on the top floor was hard to regulate, too hot for us sometimes. Owner communication was good and the family enjoyed the WiFi and television. No major issues, unfortunate that the fire alarm for the building makes a crackling noise also needed some carpet cleaning and we wished the washing machine was in room. Overall family said it was the location close to the lift that made this rental.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your candid review. We're so glad you enjoyed the heated parking, location, WiFi and electronics. I'll admit the bathrooms are a bit cramped, but at least there are two of them, and each is large enough to have a full-sized bathtub and shower. We actually looked at having a washer and dryer installed inside the condo itself, but soon realized that the cost to retrofit an old building just didn't make sense given that it is only a short 20 yard walk down the hall to use the communal washer and dryer. I am sorry, though, that the condo was too hot for you at times. Our guests set their own desired temperature for each of three unique zones using the thermostats in the bedrooms and dining/living room areas. In addition, there are ceiling fans in each bedroom for circulating the air or for cooling the room even further. Of course, the fireplace does add heat to the living room, but that is usually a desired result. At any rate, I'm sorry you were uncomfortable at times. I have to say, though, I find your comments about the carpet and fire alarm a little disingenuous. The carpet was shampooed the month prior to your stay, and I personally inspected the condo prior to your arrival and found it to be vacuumed and clean. And to all our future guests...this is the deal with the fire alarm: For some unknown reason, the building's fire speakers (which are required by code) have an audible feedback. In our condo, the fire speaker is located in the hallway next to the kitchen and you can hear a faint crackling noise when it is dead quiet and you are standing right under it. Otherwise, you probably won't even notice it. You CANNOT hear it from either bedroom or when sitting in the living room or dining room. In fact, it's so faint that the refrigerator compressor drowns it out when it kicks on.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for mentioning the "quiet" views. Our condo faces south toward Maggie Pond and the ski hill...we are not above any busy highways or loud commercial sites. Most of the time, all you hear from the deck is the sound of the Blue River burbling below.

Amazing Condo

This trip was our third time staying in this Condo. As always, it was clean and in great condition. The owners even had a Christmas Tree up when we arrived for our stay over Christmas. They think of every little detail. It was fun watching the employees night ski with lanterns down the mountain New Years Eve followed by the firework display all seen from the Condo balcony. The location is the best in town and we will certainly stay there again whenever we are in Breckenridge. We have stayed at probably two dozen condos through VRBO through the years and this Condo is certainly our favorite.

The wonderful thing about Breckenridge is that we have become an all-season destination with inside-and-outside activities, festivals, concerts, farmer's markets, live theater, art shows...you name it...there's something for everyone year round.

Perfect central location in Breck

My family had a fantastic time in Breck and loved this condo. The owner Joe was great to work with, and even had a hand-written note there for us upon arrival. The views from the top floor unit are great. The large TV's are a huge bonus. When we were deciding where to stay, we almost chose a different condo because we really wanted to have a hot tub directly at our unit, but we're glad we chose this condo instead. It's easy to get from the condo to the pool and hot tubs without every going outside by walking through the heated garage. It was 14 degrees at night, and we comfortably walked from the condo to the pool in only shorts and a T-shirt. That was a huge bonus. I did a TON of homework on probably a dozen different condos we were looking at, and we're glad we stayed here. The price was very fair (and less than most others that offered less amenities!), the location is great, and THERE ARE NO CLEANING FEES. Joe made my homework for our next trip to Breck very easy. We'll be staying here again.

Owner's Response: We know that no one likes to be "nickeled-and-dimed" so we've made our pricing transparent and all-inclusive. We've seen other properties charge as high as $150-$250 extra for cleaning...as you mentioned, we don't charge anything. Other questionable fees we've seen at other properties are "daily resort charges" and "internet" fees. We don't do that. We charge the nightly room rate and tax (which the city and state require us to collect). The only additional fee we charge is for parking in the secure, heated garage and that's only because the HOA charges us for every parking reservation we make and because many of our guests arrive via airport shuttle and do not require parking. Of course, Home Away, like most travel websites, levies its own charge to all guests for reserving through its website, but it seems like a small price to pay for the convenience and peace-of-mind of using a trusted site.
