About Frances Monro
I am the Customer Service Manager for an international swimwear company. Modern technology allows me to work from home, in a warehouse on a 25 acre property - just over an hour south of Sydney Airport and just under 2 hours from Canberra. I love to cook as well as spend hours on restoring/remodeling old furniture. Our children have left home, leaving what we used to call The Party Room (now Wombiombi Cottage) mostly empty and quiet. My husband has been re-foresting the property for the last 15 years so our native wildlife is returning in abundance. I maintain a vegetable garden which produces plenty of wonderful vegetables and delicious strawberries in summer and just a few less int he mid-winter months. We both love to entertain and as we have family and friends dotted around the world (who regularly visit), it's a constant in our lives.
Frances Monro purchased this Cottage in 2001
Why Frances Monro chose High Range
Having decided to move from Sydney to enable our children to grow up in the country as I had done, we came across this property with it's winding driveway which gently slopes down and away from Wombeyan Caves Road, through a stand of native gums/eucalyptus. The distance from the road and the bush frontage blocks works brilliantly in blocking any road noise. Sleep is very peaceful!

A very Country Warm Welcome!
Fran & Ken were Great Hosts who were very welcoming with little treats such as homemade lime marmalade. The unit was Clean with Fabulous Fire & a Stunning View.
Thanks so much for staying with us Kari. It was a pleasure to have met you both AND the poodles, Bear and Xena.
Lovely host, very relaxing and peaceful stay. Warm fire at night and lots of DVDs to choose from. We would definitely recommend staying at this property. Kangaroos grazing in near by paddocks. Such a lovely place to stay.
It was a total delight to host you and Stu, Tina. We're pleased you enjoyed yourselves. We hope to see you both again. All the best Fran
Peaceful and relaxing
This was our first stay at Wombiombi, and we would not hesitate to stay again, or recommend it to others.
Our hosts Fran and Ken were welcoming, friendly and gracious. We especially enjoyed chatting with them over wine and a campfire on our last night before leaving. The stars were AMAZING!
Wombiombi cottage was comfortable and beautifully prepared. Lots of books and DVD's to enjoy. Cosy warm in winter with log fire and reverse cycle air conditioning.
The beautiful view across the pastures from the living area windows was a constant joy. Relaxing on the sun lounges outside watching the sun set was about as good as it gets. And yes, there were lots of passing kangaroos to enjoy.
Wombiombi cottage is situated within easy reach of the towns of the Southern Highlands, and so makes an ideal base from which to explore.
We absolutely loved our time at Wombiombi and look forward to our next chance to stay. Thank you for the experience.
It was an absolute pleasure hosting your family Ken. We too enjoyed your company around the bonfire on your last evening with us. Thank you for your kind words. All the best to Sue and Andrew.
