About Curtis

I enjoy northern New Mexico. I feel we have the best four seasons in the country. This allows outdoor activities year round. When someone wants to experience the southwest, northern New Mexico should be the first stop. My property manager, Zach, and I have put in many hours to make sure guest have a great experience.

Curtis purchased this house in 2004

Why Curtis chose New Mexico

The house offers built in water softener, beautyrest black mattress (top of the line mattress from beautyrest). Miele appliances, big screen TV with a very high end sound system including Onkyo receiver and paradigm speakers. Many renters have mentioned the furniture is to nice for a rental, I have found the renters that visit Los Alamos are the most respectable people you can meet and they treat the place like there own.

What makes this house unique

Close to the Valle Caldera, Ghost Ranch, Ojo Caliente, Bandelier Nat'l Park, Bradbury museum, Los Alamos Historical Museum and Fuller Lodge.

Wonderful property, great location, needs some attention to detail

  • 4 of 5

First the pros - this home was spacious and comfortable for our party of 6 - two couples, each with a teen boy. The beds were super comfy, the bedding great, the views wonderful - our first night we had cocktails on the outside patio - pretty fab. The kitchen was well appointed with great dishes, glassware, decent pots and pans (not always available in rentals). We enjoyed the location - perfect for our sightseeing needs of local national park sites, galleries, etc. Curtis was helpful and responsive to most of our questions early on.

I would have given the place 5 stars if some of the advertised amenities were working - the DVD/Blue ray didn't work at all, we had to set up the TV system ourselves b/c it was hooked up incorrectly, the espresso maker was top-of-the-line but leaked horribly and was missing a part, so we weren't able to use it.

These are relatively minor in the scheme of things and hopefully will be remedied before the next rental. I still highly recommend the place.

Beautiful place

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to stay in Los Alamos. We had an amazing Christmas just hanging out together and enjoying the view of the canyon. We did get out a couple of times, where we walked to see the Christmas lights and faralitos around Ashley pond, and walked to enjoy beers at Bathtub row. If you stay here be sure to find your way to the trail that runs along the canyon just behind the house. Get the Los Alamos trail map to find the tricks on where to drop down into the canyon. You won't regret it, the vistas are amazing.

Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed in this home for about 9 weeks. The home was immaculate and well-cared for. The property manager and owner were attentive to all of our needs. The refrigerator was having some problems, and they replaced the refrigerator. Gardeners came regularly to take care of the lawn and flowers (but were never in our way). Gorgeous kitchen with more gadgets, cookware, etc. than you can imagine. Wonderful coffee options (we still miss the coffee makers and kitchen). Wonderfully comfortable bedding. Master bedroom and one of the other bedrooms had incredible views of the canyon. We used to like to sit outside and watch all the birds come to the bird feeders and birdhouses. The backyard was a great place to watch the sun set. We very much enjoyed our stay in this home and would recommend it to anyone (although perhaps not to those with curious toddlers who might venture off near the canyon).

Great home to use as base for area attractions

  • 4 of 5

This 70s built 3 bedroom' property has a spectacular view of Pueblo Canyon. Despite it's eclectic mix, we found the property not to our liking. It badly needed “deep cleaning." Ample storage touted was jam packed with an accumulation of items giving an impression of "hoarding." Landscape may have been originally designed by a professional, but was poorly maintained. No receipt, no written rental agreement, no invoice after departure. Evidence was provided to owner on suggestions for improvement. Other strong points are location, kitchen, living room and patio area. Manager was receptive to recommendations. Overall this property gave us an impression of being 'worn' falling short of its VRBO description.. Implementation of our recommendations will enhance future guest enjoyment. We departed 3 days early. No response to our suggestions and recommendations. We received a check for approximately 42% of the rent paid for the 3 days we did not use the home. (mailed with no invoice.)

Owner's Response: This gentleman refused to book threw VRBO, claimed he did not have a computer, no credit card, he just mails in checks. Not a good start. His biggest finding was an outdoor mat on the canyon needed to be swept under every single day, but it was swept within the last week and built up a little dirt. Again, outdoor mat. Not one complaint about bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen. The other complaint was sod grass between flagstone rock on walkway. His strong suggestion was to have concrete. In Phoenix, sure. At 7300 ft in the mountains I do not see the advantage of concrete. The one valid point he made was to much furniture in the house, which a interior designer came to the house and made many good recommendations, we are close to finishing. Lastly, my property manager works on the house day in and out, she was so upset to hear from this renter how nice his VRBO was in Hawaii. We have been looking for a property at $225/night in Hawaii that has 3,000 sq ft and has 5 star rating. We have not been able to find one. Maybe this renter can share with everyone where he stayed, our bags are packed. Little humor. Yours truly, Curtis

AWESOME!!

  • 5 of 5

This home exceeded our expectations in so many ways! The host was more than accommodating. We came for our daughters wedding, and wanted to be able to visit with families in a setting other than hotel lobby/rooms, and this place afforded the opportunity to prepare meals, do some wedding food prep, and just sit and visit in spacious living area! Everyone that came was awed by the awesome view and beautiful accommodations, and surprised at how many interesting things there were to do in the area! A special favorite to a few was the built in Espresso machine! THANK YOU!
