About this property

Clean, Comfortable, Away from the Crowds Great Value Right on the River!

Cozy cabin 15 feet from water's edge on the Cartecay River has wide screened-in deck, massive wood-burning rock fireplace and all wood floors. 2 Bedroom, 1 full bath log home sleeps 4 in 1 queen and 2 twin beds. Cable TV, wireless internet, central heat & air bring modern amenities to a place that harkens back to a by-gone era, waiting for you by the river.

Prepare your favorite vacation meals in our fully equipped kitchen or grill up your specialties to serve al fresco on the deck or at the kitchen table. Relax on the deck and watch the river run over rocks just beyond the screen door. Recline in the master bedroom to the sound and view of the gently shoaling water. Wade on in to cool off in summer. Cast a line from the bank, just outside the deck. Relax by the fireplace and hear the crackle of wood logs in winter. Head out to the fire ring to roast hotdogs or toast marshmallows.

Venture out for a hike on the Appalachian Trail, a mountain bike adventure nearby, a ride down the river in a canoe, kayak or inner tube, or a visit to an Ellijay orchard. Or just stay put, mesmerized by the sight and sound of the river.

A great cabin for a time to get away!
We enjoyed the Little cabin in the woods! We loved the cabin floor, walls, ceiling made of knocked pinewood. A creek perfectly located outside the cabin close by. The sound of the water flowing was soothing as it lulled us to sleep each night.

Property was wonderful. The river was beautiful and very relaxing. It was quiet no people around which was great for me because I’m always around a lot of people at work lol. Nice cabin if you’re looking for a quiet relaxing getaway.

Couldn't get enough of the cabin, the river and the town!
What a gem! I loved everything about our stay. The river being right of the porch was our favorite, this makes it extra special. We grilled, had wine, read our books, and lots of conversation; we just couldn't get enough of the porch by the river! We visited the town every day, which loved, and everyone was lovely. We visited an orchard, a winery, shopped, visited waterfalls and then when it was time to head to the cabin, we were also thrilled. Thanks Jane for sharing your home with us, we (and Tori) just loved our stay!

Perfect!
The cabin was just the cutest. Perfectly cozy for our early spring getaway with our two teenage kids. The river was gorgeous and so close! We didn't use the outside spaces since it was chilly, but I bet summer is an amazing time to be there. Sometimes cabins can be musty, but this one wasn't, it smelled fresh and of wood, but not perfume-y. Had everything we needed: heat, extra blankets and pillows, pots and dishes. Even laundry and a dishwasher. Highly recommend.

About the host

We're an outdoor family whose idea of a great vacation revolves around water, woods and trails. This little log cabin gets us right on the river, where we enjoy wading, fishing, paddling or just lying out on a rock and soaking up the sun. In winter, the babbling water outside and crackling of the logs in the fireplace create a cozy setting for a good read or a great conversation!

Why they chose this property

Here, we get the feel of a more relaxing era. It is a place where the timeless flow of the water seems to wash away the stresses of the modern world and every day problems get lost in the woods.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is in a rural, wooded environment, not in a mini-city of nearby river homes with noisy occupants. It's truly a rustic getaway by the river.
