Lake Viñuela is one of Andalucia’s best kept secrets and is unspoilt by tourism. The Lake is a reservoir and is also used for sailing, wind-surfing and fishing. There are no motorised boats allowed thus ensuring undisturbed tranquility.
All around the property are paths leading to glorious walks through unspoilt countryside. On the opposite side of the lake is the National Park which is widely used by walkers and ramblers and is renowned as being the best walking area in Spain.
The nearest beach resort is the typically Spanish resort of Torre de Mar just over 20 mins away. A wide promenade runs alongside its sandy beaches to the marina at Caleta. There are many beaches to enjoy along the coastal walk with countless beach huts 'chiringuitos' serving paella and fresh fish lunches.
Nearby is a fabulous shopping complex, El Ingenio with a hypermarket where you can buy all your groceries and holiday treats ! Torre del Mar and Velez Malaga both have numerous shops, restaurants and tapas bars to explore and enjoy. Nearby is a large water park and a go-karting track. The busier resorts of Marbella and Fuengirola are just over an hour away.

Antequera, a busy market town of Roman origin with its historic bullring, a 13th century castle and a wealth of history is also worth a visit. Nerja on the coast is a lovely old town where you can take a horse-drawn taxi to the famous Balcon de Europa overlooking the sea. Nearby Maro with its spectacular caves and summer concerts is also not to be missed.
