You'll love to sip your coffee (or wine) on the deck, enjoying the breathtaking view of the Northumberland Strait, watching the PEI ferry going back and forth throughout the day from Wood Islands, PEI to Caribou, NS (the ferry terminal is just 10 minutes up the road).
Situated on a one acre landscaped lot overlooking the water, whether you are reading in a hammock under a tree, simply sitting quietly enjoying the view, or enjoying a campfire under the starlit sky, Moonshell is known and loved for its serenity and beauty.
It is an attractive cedar bungalow with two bedrooms, a large vestibule which doubles as another bedroom, a bathroom, living room with a woodstove, kitchen and sunroom with plenty of windows to take in the gorgeous views.
Moonshell overlooks a private beach where guests love to swim in the warmest waters north of the Carolinas, followed by a refreshing rinse in the outdoor shower. They also enjoy taking long walks up the beach to Caribou Island, collecting sea glass on the way.
Hummingbirds are frequent visitors to Moonshell from June to August and sea and shore birds are very active throughout the summer months. In late August and September, eagles and seals are common sights from the comfort of a deck chair.
High season (July 1 - August 31)
If you ever feel the need to do more than relax, the beautiful town of Pictou is only 15 minutes away and Tatamagouche is 45 minutes away; both offering groceries, a variety of restaurants and cultural attractions.
Because of our proximity to the PEI ferry, it's even possible to spend the day on The Island and return in the evening on the last ferry back to Caribou!
