I am a local who loves Tulsa and the surrounding area.
Jill Jones purchased this house in 1997
The historic Yorktown neighborhood is the ideal Tulsa location with easy access all the best local spots. Quiet street, walking distance to Utica square for shops and restaurants, wonderful neighbors, and right in the middle of everything happening in town.
This house has a lovely picture window and sunroom which appealed to me from the start. Also love an older home with wood floors and historic design qualities. Not to mention the large lot with mature trees.
This is the second time our family has stayed in this home. The house near Utica Square is very clean and tidy and has everything we needed. There is plenty of space in the 3 bedrooms and there are 2 different areas to lounge in (front living area and also a den near the kitchen). The owner, Jill, is great. It was a pleasure to stay in this house again in one of the finest areas of T-Town.
Jill's midtown Tulsa house is in a fantastic location and its cozy ambiance is perfect for a getaway. I have stayed here twice and hope to stay again. Jill is always available to answer questions, and the house is fully stocked with everything you might want while away from home. It is clean, the beds comfortable, plenty of cooking and dining equipment, and the washer and dryer are a definite bonus! Loved it - very welcoming feel and owner!
We have rented the home for the last two years while showing our POA's at the Tulsa Expo Center. Each had our own bedroom, quiet neighborhood and safe. A nice place to relax, do laundry, get some rest before the next show day rolled around.
Everything was great. The only limiting factor is one bathroom.
The house is very cute and kept pretty clean. It has three nice size bedrooms, plus a washer & dryer, so this was a perfect fit for our family of six! We all had plenty of room as each bedroom was a good size (our room even had enough space for a pack n' play) and one room had a desk. The beds were all nice sizes too (the smallest was a full). We were able to use the washer and dryer to keep up with our kids laundry and not have to pack as much - a huge plus!
We were in town visiting family and celebrating my grandpa's 80th birthday in Sapulpua. This house was within a couple minutes of the highway, so even traveling to Sapulpua was quick and easy. We did not go to Utica Square, but it was within walking distance, and it was close to some great museums, and Woodward Park which is so lovely!
The only cons I noted were: though the house was kept quite clean, the the fans were dusty - but that's easy to miss.
Also, this IS an old house and it does smell a bit old. I would check with Jill if you have allergies b/c it's likely that the old foundation/basement stays damp based on the smell - but it does NOT smell moldy, just damp/old. I was worried about my allergies but I didn't get congested or headaches, so I don't think this is an issue, and I would stay there again. Just something to be aware of.
Extra Pluses: Jill had a large selection of books, videos, and games to pass time if you need. We also enjoyed watching cable television in the mornings, which was a treat for us :) She also put together a little booklet of local attractions. (There was not a guide on HOW to work the television - which remote does what - which would have been helpful.)
We would definitely stay at this property again! Overall it was a great location, had a really great layout and efficient space for our family, and was in a great location.
Whenever we come to Tulsa for an extended stay of any kind, we stay at this property. It is just a joy, staying here! Jill is so very easy to work with, and the house is just like home to us. The place is spacious and always clean; the kitchen is well stocked; the yard is charming. Thank you so much, Jill, for sharing your house with us! I would certainly recommend the property (and its owner) to anyone coming to Tulsa.
