Waikoloa Colony Villas is a luxury, gated community located in the prestigious Waikoloa Beach Resort along the Kohala Coast of Hawaii's Big Island. These luxury townhouses are located along the 15th fairway of the resort's beach golf course with views of Mauna Kea, the Pacific Ocean, & the Kohala Mountain range. NO CONSTRUCTION at our portion of resort!

This newly constructed complex (built in 2003) offers 2 recreation centers and 2 pools and a hot tub just a short walk from our unit, four brand new built in barbecues and a party deck, fully stocked BBQ items, tennis court, fitness center (two rooms), guest parking and parking passes, a garage, private lanai, landscaped courtyards, and privately gated entrances.

The King's Shops houses 75,000 square feet of fabulous shops and restaurants (food on the go to upscale restaurants), if you do not feel like cooking or just want to take a walk.

The Queens’ MarketPlace is a fun family life style resort destination shopping experience with something for everyone. It has an exciting collection of boutiques, galleries, shops and services, plus a delightfully diverse Ono Food Court, upscale restaurants and a full schedule of free Hawaiian cultural activities and entertainment, from movies under the stars to Hawaiian quilting class, hula lessons, chocolate tasting, group bike rides, ‘ukulele lessons and free hula shows and Hawaiian music concerts in the open-air Coronation Pavilion.

A good swimming beach (Anaeho'omalu Bay or 'A Bay') is a five-minute drive away, and can be reached by walking (~1 mile). This two-story, two-bedroom (master bed is cal king and 2nd bedroom is a queen plus a pull out couch), two-bathroom, built in 2003 townhome includes brand new central air conditioning system, an enclosed garage, vaulted ceilings in living areas, with large covered lanais off the dining area.

The master bedroom and bath are upstairs and offer a relaxing environment. The master bedroom suite is upstairs in your own little area. The master bedroom is equipped with a FLAT SCREEN SMART TV for your viewing pleasure.

This quiet downstairs bedroom is a queen sized bed outfitted with beautiful Hawaiian inspired Tommy Bahama bedding, This bedroom too has a FLAT SCREEN TV (not a smart TV). This bedroom is adjacent to a bathroom with a full bathtub and shower combination.

Both bedrooms have a FLAT SCREEN TV's and ceiling fans.

The living room is the perfect spot for relaxing after a day on the course or the beach. The couch is comfy and pulls out into a queen sized pull out bed. There is a LARGE FLAT SCREEN SMART TV in the living room. UPGRADED WIRELESS INTERNET (Ethernet hard wired is also available) is equipped in the unit at NO CHARGE!!! The WIFI reaches everywhere in the unit without issue!

About Brenda

My husband and I like to stay places with all the comforts of home, so when we saw this condo we felt like it was home. We live in California but use this as our home away from home. We have been fortunate to travel the world and this is still one of our favorite places to come.

Why Brenda chose Puako

The builder of these units is highly regarded for building well built buildings that are practically noise proof. Also, we love that the master bedroom and private bath is upstairs while the second bath and the bedroom is downstairs. The second bedroom feels like it is tucked away so each room has privacy. Plus you do not have any neighbors overhead!

What makes this condo unique

We fell in love with the Big Island and purchased our two-story condo near the King's golf course with a great view of the Hualalai mountains. Our unit is an end unit and it is very quiet. The place has been renovated since we bought it and painted and we have it fully equiped. There are two shopping centers close by so it easy to get the essential items and go out to great restaurants. We love our condo and go back there everytime we can and hope to retire there someday. We love A-Bay and the honu's (HI sea turtles) love that bay too so you can be guaranteed to see them. We love that it is close to Kona but out of the hustle and bustle of the city. It is not too far to the National Park (Volcano) and to our favorite beach spot, Honaunau.

This was our second visit to this Island of Hawaii and to this Condo. I love the privacy of the master bed and bath, and the granite counter tops in the kitchen, and the quietness of this unit. It is so close to the pool but not on it which I find much better. That also means it is close to the gym, BBQ's and tennis courts. We rode the bikes all over WBResort, and they are perfect! Nice touch! We used all the beach toys too which made it easier since we did not have to transport it ourselves. Each and every night after fixing dinner at home, which we prefer, we ended up on the couch watching TV and playing games until our eyes could not stay open anymore!

Wonderful! Comfortable! Everything we could possibly need! :-)

Where to start?

I was doing Lavaman and my husband and a friend were with for fun and support. We were looking for a place where our rooms gave us a bit of separation, open common area and a place for my gear and our snorkeling and other beach gear. This was the perfect place.

A beautiful home with everything we could ask for, not to mention how spotless it was on arrival. The layout was idea, lots of open space, while the bedrooms had their privacy with the master upstairs and the second bedroom downstairs and tucked away. The kitchen had all the gadgets we could have possibly used, including a coffee grinder :-) We never actually watched tv, but did use it for the music channels. The pool was about a minute walk from the front door and included a spa. Lots of towels for home and the beach and linens for the beds. The lanai was such a pleasant place to sit and be quiet, visit or get some work done. The garage was wonderful to have available! I was able to keep my bike inside and we could lay out our beach gear. Oh and bicycles! What a nice thing to have available to use - our friend used one often.

There is so much to do and available on the resort, I can kind of understand how some people stay one the property their entire visit.

But! That is not us. We hop in the car and head out exploring, this trip we went as far as the Kapoho Tide Pools in one direction to Two Step in another direction, and Hawi in yet another direction - and all points in between.

This is on our radar for 2018 Lavaman. We know it's perfect for us.

I just completed a 6 week stay at the Waikoloa Colony Villa #1606. The owner Brenda, was a pleasure to work with - prior to and during my entire stay. She was extremely attentive and responsive to any / all questions and requests that I had regarding the unit.

WCV#1606 is a very clean, well equipped 2BR / 2BA unit in the complex. The kitchen has everything you might need. Brenda also provided beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, beach towels, etc. She even provides greens fees discounts for golfing at the two Waikoloa Beach Resort courses. As a bonus, she has a 1 car garage which she allows you house during your stay (not necessarily the same case at many of the WCV units). My 6 week stay was extremely comfortable and I certainly felt at home in the spacious unit, during my visit. The trade winds blew so regularly through the unit that I didn't ever need to utilize the A/C - another bonus from my perspective.Mahalo Brenda for sharing your ohana with me!

Superb Villa!

The house at Waikoloa Colony Villas is very luxuriously finished. A beautiful place, excellent beds, airconditioning etc. There's a garage to park you car, tennis and snorkling gear and even two bicycles. The resort is extremely well maintained. The kids enjoyed the nearby pool and we used one of the two BBQ's there frequently. The King's and Queen's marketplace have everything you need in terms of shopping and eating. The beach is right around the corner. Whether you are a golfer or not, you'll enjoy this place. We know we did!

I am glad you took advantage of the bikes, as they make it easy to get to beach or get something from the grocery store. :) A-Bay is such a nice beach for families and people who are not so confident in the water, as it has plenty of shoreline and easy access to the water. We love that you can rent equipment right on the beach too. Did you see the turtles sleeping on the shore? Did you get a chance to watch the sunset from LavaLava? I sure hope so! Great accomodation, well equiped!

Recently I satyed here with my aunt and mother for 10 days. We found the accomodation spacious, clean, quiet, and very well equipped with everything we needed. The location around the corner from the pool, near the entrance and tennis courts was perfect! The pool and hot tub were great! The beach, only a 15 minute walk away was quiet, easy for swimming, paddle boarding and snorleing. Adequate shopping is also a 15 minute walk away.

We had an exceptional stay at the Waikoloa Colony Villas! The condo was very clean and very comfortable. Close to the Hilton and Dolphin Quest, where my daughter was working. My husband golfed at the Beach Course and we enjoyed the pool and BBQ facilities. The shopping at the Queen's Marketplace was very convenient and we really enjoyed the sushi at the Sensei restaurant. Of course we saw a few Island attractions as well. It was nice to come home to a spacious living area!

Ala Kahakai : An ancient pathway runs along the coastline behind Waikoloa Beach Resort, a segment of the 175-mile Ala Kahakai (“trail by the sea”) that links communities, temples, fishing areas and other important locations on the western coast of the Big Island. Also called the “King’s Trail,” Ala Kahakai is accessible at several places along the shoreline of ‘Anaeho‘omalu Bay. *Please refrain from walking on adjoining historic sites and do not remove any rocks from walls or other features. Ala Kahakai is a national historic trail.

Anchialine Pond: The Waikoloa Anchialine Pond Preservation Area (WAPPA) is a series of historic anchialine (AN-key-ah-lin) ponds, maintained by the University of Hawai‘i. These shallow salt or brackish water lava pools, fed by freshwater springs as well as the ocean, make the perfect home for various small fishes, crustacean mollusks and the ‘ōpae‘ula, tiny red shrimp, sometimes called “micro-lobsters.” A well-marked trail takes you on an easy hike around a portion of the anchialine ponds.

Ku’uali’i and Kahapapa Fishponds: Anaeho‘omalu can be translated “protected mullet,” and at its peak, ‘Anaeho‘omalu was best known for its thriving aquaculture. Two existing ponds, Ku‘uali‘i and Kahapapa, were part of a large complex of fish farms, carefully tended by ‘ohana (family groups) who passed down the practices for many generations. Seasonal fishing of various species helped manage the population, and stories are told of swift-footed runners along the Ala Kahakai trail, delivering fresh fish from these ponds to King Kamehameha when he was in residence in Kailua Kona.

Petroglyph Park: Numerous petroglyphs, stone carvings, are preserved within Waikoloa Beach Resort, including some of the best examples in the state. Originally, there was no written Hawaiian language, and some petroglyphs are thought to be astronomical symbols, travel markers or commemorations of historic events. There is a marked petroglyph trail near the entrance to the Colony Villas and you can take a complimentary guided tours from the gas station at Kings’ Shops (Thursday-Sunday at 9:30am).

A'Bay: ‘Anaeho‘omalu is the Hawaiian name of the bay and beach in Waikoloa Beach Resort. A fun and welcoming recreation area for people of all ages, the 900’-long granular salt & pepper sandy beach is a popular, picturesque place to watch the sunset or relax along the shady shore. The beach park has great facilities including showers and restrooms, picnic areas, plenty of free parking and all kinds of fun opportunities to swim, surf, windsurf, boogie board, snorkel, watch the canoe races, sail and see under the sea on a glass-bottom boat cruise.
