Kalypso Studios are located in the heart of Paleokastritsa overlooking the sea and set in private gardens with olive trees and flowers.
There is a gate which leads from the garden directly onto a small beach. There are a few tavernas located just a short stroll along the beach.
Spectacular views and has a terrace with chairs and tables looking directly onto the sea. For more information and maps, please visit our website.
first time to corfu stumbled across these studios on web read reviews and decided to go for it studios basic but adiquet for a relaxing base or chill-out just as described right on beach with fantastic views aris and his family are verry welcoming and helpfull there are plenty of restaurants nearby especialy the belvedere restarurant wich is directly above you this is run by another gentle- man called aris who is a friendly host with a lovely family the studio as four flights of stairs which are quite steep so would not recomend to elderly or infirm otherwise would highly recomend for a fantastic location
Our second visit to Corfu was 31 years after our first, when we spent our honeymoon a few miles south of Corfu Town. For our 31st anniversary we rented one of the Kalypso studio apartments in Peleokastritsa.
These are situated within a few metres of the sea. The accomodation is basic but has everything one needs for a quiet relaxing holiday, most importantly for us it had air conditioning, as daytime temperatures were pretty high. Everything was clean and tidy and the welcoming gifts of olive oil and figs were a treat.
We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts, Maria and her mother, to whom nothing was too much trouble. They were able to recommend an excellent car hire company situated locally and we were able to rent the vehicle of our choice at a reasonable rate.We were a bit concerned at the number of steps leading up to the road (107) as we are not as young as we were, but towards the end of our stay we had got used to the extra excercise!
There is plenty to do and see in the area. Amazing boats trips to be had at the marina just down the road/ (we would recommend the 'Yellow Submarine') and lots of choice when eating out, without having to walk far. We did find that biting insects could be a nuisance and would advise the use of a repellent of some kind.
All in all an excellent holiday, which we would certainly like to repeat some day soon. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed at Kalypso Studios for 2 weeks at the beginning of June to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.
We had been looking for a nice quiet self-catering getaway with the option of visiting the local tavernas and restaurants.....our stay at Kalypso provided all of this and more!
Upon arrival we were greeted by Aris (with a big smile :-) ) who showed us our studio and presented us with a lovely bottle of wine from his vineyard, and olives and olive oil from his garden.
The studio was perfect for us and spotlessly clean, with everything that we needed. The view from our balcony was such a treat to wake up to every morning and we enjoyed breakfast in the lovely garden underneath the olive trees overlooking the sea everyday.
Aris and Christina are just wonderful and we are very much looking forward to seeing them again later this year, fingers crossed, for one of what we hope will be many visits in the future.
The beach is seconds away, and we spent most of our time swimming, snorkelling and generally just soaking up the beautiful view. The Dolphin restaurant is literally 2 minutes walk down the beach, and they serve lovely food with great panoramic views. There are a number of supermarkets, bars and tavernas in easy walking distance, but the location of the studios mean that you still get the feeling of peace and quiet.
Because Paleokastritsa is situated on the side of the mountain, there are a few steps involved to walk anywhere but we saw this as free exercise to burn off all the delicious Greek calories!
Kalypso Studios has a great feeling about it and Aris and Christina quickly became lovely new friends, making sure that we felt happy and comfortable throughout our wonderful holiday. We were also treated to some of Christina's amazing home-cooking too!
We could go on but we think you get the rough idea of how beautiful this place is :-)
To sum it up, we just can't wait to go back......
We spent ten days at Kalypso Studios in July and had an wonderful time.
Aris and his family were extremely welcoming, providing us with a very clean studio, friendly conversation and lots of delicious home made foods (jam, plums, figs, wine, oil and olives).
The studios are small but not crowded with an amazing view over one of Paleo's nicest bays. The beach is literally a few steps away from your bed and you can be swimming within seconds of waking up... then breakfast in the shade of two enormous olive trees on the large terrace in front of the studios.
Will definitely return and most highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break in Corfu.
Me and my boyfriend arrived in Corfu early April. On arrival we were met by Aris (the apartment owner) who was very welcoming. It was night time so we were sent straight to our apartments but we couldnt see much at that hour! However, this meant we had the pleasure of waking up early morning to the absolutely beautiful views from our balcony. The sun was shining, the views were amazing, and the apartment had everything you could possibly need for a self catered room.
Aris surprised us with a bottle of his own home grown wine and some fruit/veg and fresh eggs! which were lovely and fresh!
Aris' wife came to clean our apartment half way through the week and it was made spotless!
The location of the apartments are brilliant. We arrived just before easter so quite a few tavernas were closed however we had the beach to ourselves for 5 days which was perfect. The beach is a few steps away from the apartment which is great for a swim and relaxing bath. There are many restaurants and bars surrounding the area of the apartments, and even though it was not open, you are pretty much next door to the Dolphin Bar (which would be a great place to meet the locals)
We had a fantastic stay at the apartments and Aris visited us lots and made sure we were ok. He told us all the beautiful places to go and even picked us up and dropped us off all over Corfu. He taxi friend also met us every day and gave us lifts to the golf course (Which is beautiful) and Dakadis and Laconis (not sure how you spell them). These two little villiage are a must! There are some beautiful tavernas which absolutely amazing food (you must try Stifado and Soffita dishes..mmmmm!
overall I would rate these apartments as excellent, the customer service we received was some of the best, the greek people are VERY welcoming (they even gave us occasional free drinks and puddings!). We are planning to visit Aris and his family and these apartments again next year, and we are considering going in the Greek Easter so that a few more things are open and there will be a bit more life/street festivals and celebrations!
VISIT THESE APARTMENTS, YOU WONT REGRET IT!

My fiancee and I (both in our mid 20s) recently visited Kalypso Studios for a week around Easter 2011. We chose it based on overwhelmingly positive online reviews and were thrilled that we had not chosen any other location.
The studios are in a quiet, secluded spot in Paleokastrisa and we were amazed by how beautiful and peaceful the surroundings were The garden in front of the studios overlooks a beatiful bay and is right next to the water! The accomodation was basic but extremely clean, well maintained and comfortable. We felt we had everything we needed and the absence of a television and internet was actually greatly appreciated (we both lead busy lives in a big city and it was the perfect place to unwind). For those who need it, there are plenty of internet parlours/taverns screening sporting events nearby. It had not officially hit the high season in Corfu when we visited - and hence, we found some of the eating options on the island quite basic and often too touristy. When we got bored of eating out, we went to the wonderful Corfu fresh food markets in town (incredible for seafood, fresh produce and wine) and cooked some very memorable meals - we highly recommend doing this.
We also definitely recommend hiring a car as Paleokastritsa is a 20-30min scenic drive from the town/airport. The studios themselves are well located, in close proximity to parking, supermarkets, stores, the monastery as well as several nice beaches. We drove around the entire island over the week and felt that Paleokastritsa was perhaps one of the best (if not the best altogether) areas to stay in Corfu when one comes to visit.
I simply must mention what a lovely couple Aris and his wife Christina are. They are extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. We were welcomed to the studios with some delicious home-made lunch and were woken one morning with greek breakfast delicacies! These wonderful gestures and their personal touch really made an alreay great holiday truly memorable.
The studios are a great place to go to relax and kick back in stunning surroundings. If you are only used to staying in plush hotels and compulsively need every convenience of home everywhere you go, I'd recommend thinking twice. However, if you want a well located, relaxing, well maintained and beatiful place to stay which also offers a level of personalised service not seen elsewhere - book one of the Kalypso studios immediately.
Paleokastritsa is probably the most picturesque area of the island. It is situated 22 km northwest from the Town of Corfu.
The steep cliffs divide the coastline into 6 sandy bays where the emerald color of the rich vegetation reaches the shoreline and meets the turquoise sea. This is a place of dramatic beauty and romance where according to the legend Nausika rescued the castaway Odysseus.
The hills above Paleokastritsa offer spectacular views of this beautiful landscape and those who enjoy hiking can trail the donkey paths up the hills to reach the surrounding villages. Nearby, the clear water is ideal for swimming and water sports.
