Lae Nani 231 is located on Kauai's beautiful coconut coast. The unit overlooks the pool, lawn, beach, ocean and majestic mountains. We are located on the top floor in a corner end unit, which affords ultimate privacy. Panoramic ocean views are available from the living room, dining room, kitchen and lanai.
Complete renovation finished Sept. 2013. Living room and dining room accented with bamboo crown molding and tiger wood floors. Kitchen and entry floors have inlayed travertine borders on porcelain. The kitchen is equipped with brand new stainless steel appliances including refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher and stove. Also includes new stainless steel cookware, coffee maker, french press and electric kettle. The counters are finished in magma granite.
Master bedroom is carpeted with premium carpet. It is appointed with a king bed and new 14' memory foam mattress and fine linens. The queen size sleeper sofa is equipped with a plush bed mattress (5 star on amazon). All interior doors are solid teak, plantation style.
Rainforest marble counters in both baths and inlayed marble on travertine floors. Master bath has large shower lined in travertine and decorative tile. Built in bench and hand held or stationary showerheads. Luxury towels provided.
Smart TV's are located in both living room and bedroom. State of the art wireless high speed internet enables streaming of Netflix movies without buffering. 2.1 sound bar in living room also allows you to stream music from your bluetooth device. Also available is a Bose sounddock 10 in the bedroom.
The lanai is furnished with a bar height table that seats four. This allows for an unobstructed view over the railing. We have also provided a large cushioned chair and ottoman which is perfect for relaxing and reading or just enjoying the magnificent surroundings.
The sandy beach allows easy access for swimming, boogeyboarding, or just floating in the warm waters of the Pacific. Most often safe but can be dangerous when surf is large. The 'keiki pool' (children's pool) is surrounded by lava rock to create a shallow natural pool with a sand bottom., a safer spot for the little one.
This unit is walking distance, on the beach path, to the famous Hukilau Lanai restaurant. It is also a short walk to the Coconut Marketplace which offers eateries, galleries, boutiques and a convenience store.
Some onsite conveniences are coin-operated laundry and gas operated barbecues. Lighted tennis courts and heated pool. These amenities are all exceptionally well maintained. The grounds are immaculate and lush with many local varieties of flowers and plants. Kauai is truly the 'Garden Isle'.
Lae Nani is centrally located on the east shore just a 30 minute drive to the north shore, Princeville and Hanalei Bay. Poipu beach is 30 minutes to the south.
Hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, surfing and Golfing areas are abundant. Waterskiing and wakeboarding are also available on nearby Wailua River.
Please be aware that there is no elevator.
Mahalo for visiting our site! We look forward to hearing from you.

We have been coming to Kauai for the last 30 years, the same number of years we have been married. We are both native Californians, living in north Monterey. As a surfer of 50 years, I have to admit that most of our trips were surf trips. There remains many places left on Kauai for us to discover.
Stephen Childers purchased this condo in 2013
We were looking a properties in Poipu and Princeville for some time as that is where most of our friends live. But upon seeing the listing photo of this property(the bay view from lanai) we immediately made an offer and purchased it. We have been on island many times and stayed at quite a few places, but we like Lae Nani the best. It's not just the spectacular views or the beautiful grounds but also the serenity of the location. The Heiau (ancient Hawaiian Ruins) on the point in front, the sound of the surf thoughout the day and night is just magical.
Also, everything you need is nearby.
Location Location Location.
This location is just as beautiful as the photo. The grounds are very well-maintained. The large pool was cleaned daily during our 2-week stay. The immediate neighborhood is seaside resorts and comparable condos.
Easy walks to basic groceries, Hawaii-themed boutiques, and a number of good restaurants (recommend Street Burger, Bobby Vs Pizza, Lava Lava, Cafe Coco, Oasis, and there are many others).
Lae Nani is far enough from Kuhio Highway to minimize traffic noise. Note that there is LOTS of traffic, so don't expect recreational driving on Kauai. Non-beach walking is sidewalks and roadside. Standard USA stuff is also walkable or short drive - Safeway, Starbucks, chain drugstore, fast food etc.
Adjacent to the north is a long row of beach resorts with restaurants, spas, bars and open walkways along the beach. It's easy to find live music/happy hour at the resorts, but nightlife shuts down at 9.
The Lae Nani beach has a shallow rock-walled tide pool ideal for kids. Just steps to the north is a mile of uncrowded, open beach. Kauai beaches have spectacular surf, fairly coarse sand, and some rock.
231 looks just like the picture. Lovely interior design, nice modern kitchen, a large shower plus a hallway half bath. I had a cold so I got to check out the sofa bed, and it was comfortable. There's a quarter-operated laundry room.
Steve/Homeaway gave good directions. When we arrived the condo was acceptably clean but not immaculate. Onsite property manager was nice. Other than families at the pool and beach, we rarely heard neighbors, occasionally could hear guests at the neighboring resort but after 9 it's VERY quiet - except for the surf. No AC so midday the fans are sometimes needed. After sunset the breeze moves through the condo and it feels WONDERFUL.
Highly recommended - we will definitely return, if all these positive reviews don't completely fill the calendar!
Lae Nani 231 is a spectacular 1 BR, 1.5 bath condo. The pictures in its listing are beautiful, yet still don't do it justice. The condo was immaculately clean when we arrived. The view includes the gorgeous grounds, the beautiful pool, the ocean, and the mountains. The sound of the surf can be heard throughout the condo. The kitchen is glorious, with top-shelf appliances, granite counters, and super-well-stocked. All the artwork is beautiful. The lanai is oversized with really nice furniture. There's a great selection of pool and beach goodies. The bedroom is spacious, the bed is a fabulously comfortable king with memory foam. The master and hall baths are modern and spacious. (My wife wants to take the shower home!) All lights are on dimmers, and electronics in BR and LR are all top-notch, including ultra high speed Wifi. The property itself is delightful, with a very usable beach, a great pool, 3 Weber grills that are well-maintained, laundry facility, and convenient parking. One thing to be aware of... if you love sunrises, you'll need to leave your room and take a short walk to the beach next door (in front of Lava Lava) to really appreciate it. At least that was our experience in December. We've stayed at some wonderful places in Kauai, but we've found a new home away from home in Lae Nani 231.
My husband and I returned to Lae Nani 231 because we had enjoyed it so much the first time. It was just as we remembered...gorgeous, private, wonderfully appointed interior, fabulous location on the island, beautiful view and more. It felt like we were coming home. Steve is very easy to work with and does whatever he can to make your stay comfortable. We highly recommend this condo and hope to return again some day.
Everything was a pleasant surprise. The condo is beautifully furnished and appointed and immaculate. The kitchen belongs in a magazine. The bed is the most comfortable my husband and I have ever slept on and the sheets were that wonderful heavy Egyptian cotton that feels so luxurious that even when it's warm and you only need the sheet it still feels substantial without feeling hot.
Another nicety was that there were items available to use that normally are not in a rental condo. Alcohol and peroxide and Q tips as well as shampoo, sunscreen etc. And in the kitchen, yes--there was salt and pepper and sugar and other needed items we were spared from having to go out and buy like soy sauce and mustard etc and spices etc. Oh yes, also good quality and plentiful kitchen items such as pots and pans and dishes and flatware. All new and well chosen.
Then there is the "beach stuff" closet with two coolers and two folding chairs and snorkels and boogie boards etc.
Everything is first rate and top notch.
Of course nothing is perfect, so I will say that for us (we have been seniors for a long time) the three flights of stairs was daunting. We knew there would be stairs, but carrying groceries and luggage up was difficult. Thankfully, a helpful maintenance person carried the bags up for us on our arrival and the cleaning person's husband took the heavy ones down for us when we left.
The other is that the lanai is in the sun almost all day which isn't so good if you want to lounge there and read. If you want to be out touring the island or surfing, that's no problem. I found ways to adjust the furniture so most of the day I could find shady spots.
The view is lovely. The location is excellent. Being able to walk along the beach to some nice places to eat was a very pleasant surprise. Many many decades ago we did that in Waikiki.
Can you tell we want to go back?
Thank you, Stephen for providing this lovely vacation retreat.
Could not have picked a better place. Location was great, comfortable and convenient to everything. Would not hesitate to come back.
We stayed at this amazing condo for 9 days. The condo itself was very clean and well maintained. We had no issues for our stay. The property is on the third floor and there is no elevator. The condo has no AC but there are fans and ceiling fans. Surprisingly this was not a big concern as the breeze was cool. The view is amazing from the lanai. You just have to see it for yourself. The condo is very close to shops, stores, and restaurants. Also kitchen has everything you need including a blender and a rice cooker. There is also two smart TVs. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. So if your feeling like it, you can just Netflix and chill. There are beach stuff available to use including boogie boards, beach umbrella and chair. In just a short walk, you can access the beach across your lanai. There is a kiddie pool that kids can swim in and super shallow. Even with big waves it wasn't an issue. I swan in the beach next to the kiddie pool and the waves looked big but it was actually pretty good for swimming if you can swim. The water is not very clear because the area is close to the Waliua river. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend to anyone. If you have a mobility issue walking up the stairs might be an issue, and if you are not used to having an AC in a tropical place this place might not be for you. As with any tropical islands, there are bugs too. Don't be afraid, use Raid! Throw your garbage everyday!
Thank you Steve your place was amazing. The kids loved the place, especially the cool looking corner table.
