lacks laundry facilities, or access to. For a few days stay..no issue but to travel light, laundry is a nice service to have at location.
Exactly what the title says! From the second you turn into the driveway to the time you pull up to the cabin. It's a beautiful site. The entire property is secluded, and you will never see a neighbor. The waterfall, the creek, the pond, the cabin, the inside of the cabin- done nicely.
The inside is all wood, nature at its best. The natural wood smell hits you as soon as you hit the door. The kitchen, the cabinets are gorgeous. The dishwasher made me want to buy another dishwasher for home. They're two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a huge sitting room. I would suggest securing the headboard to the wall since the two bedrooms are next to each other.
It was perfect for us. No children calling our name, no dog, all you heard was water, birds chirping and even though you're far way from the road you can still hear road traffic, but it's not disturbing.
Great, relaxing scene that you would see in a romance novel. I literally stood at the window each morning just staring at the pond and bridge. You can't help but to smile.
We will return and have already shared it with two other couples, but we also don't want to share this awesome place.
This house is wonderful! The yard is amazing, I seriously can't imagine how much work went into creating the yard and how much time it must take the maintain it, for a rental I was blown away. The cabin is very nice with everything you could want or need. We met Patty when we arrived and she showed us around and made sure we were all set before she left. We had no issues the whole time we were there, everything worked great! The trails are very impressive for a private piece of property. Be warned the trail that goes up the hill is a good climb and long, I got up it with my 4 year old and it started pouring rain, haha! That made for a long run downhill carrying her and a nice warm bath for the little one afterwords, but it's a great memory we made! You really can't go wrong with this place, great cabin, great property, and great owners. Pumpkintown/Pickens isn't the greatest place for food options, but this is a cabin retreat not a city condo. We made some great meals at the cabin and had a great time! You can hear a little traffic noise out by the bridge so if that kind of thing bothers you, you might want to consider that, but honestly its minimal and not that big of a deal. We loved this place and would return in a heartbeat! Thank you Patty and Arvid!
Pappy's Place was beautiful from the drive from the main road to the trails behind the home. All amenities, inside and out, made for an extremely pleasant time of relaxation. We loved the pond and bridge and the beautiful deck with comfortable seating out by the creek. The trails on the property were clearly marked, with great attention to keeping you close to the creek with stops along the way to enjoy the beauty. Patty and Arvid have created many personal touches that show their love and care for the home. A great basket of snacks was provided and they also responded immediately to a problem with the TV in the master bedroom and actually replaced it while we where hiking at nearby Table Rock. Every part of the home was spotless and although the weather was great, the covered parking just outside the door would be a real plus if you happen to have rain during your stay. We loved Pappy's Place and hope to visit again!

This place was perfect. The owners are so nice, welcoming and available in case of any issues. Everything from the Welcome Basket of goodies, toys, movies, and cabin supplies made for a perfect stay. The grounds are beautiful, we had a lot of rainy days but there was plenty of space and things to entertain our 2 children (8 & 18 months). We loved to feed the fish and we even got to visit with the donkey. The location is perfect to a lot of the Upstate region state parks- we went to 7 of them while we were there. Definitely recommend and would stay here again!
The Dixon Family (Aug. 2016)
Our son got married at Table Rock lodge on a Friday. We all stayed in the cabin on the Thursday night before the wedding. The beauty of the cabin and the surroundings were absolutely gorgeous. The area was so peaceful. My son and his bride stayed in the cabin the rest of the weekend and they loved it. My husband and I will be going back again hopefully in the near future. The owners were so easy to work with throughout our stay. I would highly recommend this location.
