Situated in a peaceful village on the road to Sfakia, ideal for relaxation

This beautiful renovated villa is located in the most unspoiled area of Chania Prefecture, Apokoronas Province, on the road to Sfakia, in the foothills of the White Mountains. The house with the olive mill was built in 1912 in Maroudiana neighborhood of Ebrosneros Village from stone, wood and clay and it is a sample of the traditional architecture of that time. The house was renovated with respect to its original form and use; however you will find here all the modern amenities for a comfortable stay.

Olive Mill Villa is built in the middle of a 1000sq.m. garden. On the east side of the house there is a patio where you can relax and the old olive mill, preserved in good condition. On the north side there are the large swimming pool (50sq.m.) with the integral children's pool and a shaded area where the barbecue, a traditional stone oven and a stone table for al fresco dining are found. On the west side the old threshing floor is filled with sea sand for the kids to play safely. The north side is covered with grass. The semi-outdoor entrance area to the main building features two stone arches and a built-in sitting area.

The building consists of two floors and a separate twin-bedded room with WC on the south side of the house. The main section of the ground floor is on two levels – the lower level is a sitting room with fireplace, TV and two sofas. The higher level comprises the fully-equipped kitchen and dining area. To the left of the main entrance there is also a bathroom and an indoor staircase leads to the first floor. A large open space on the first floor can be used as an office or seating area and includes an antique desk and a sofa that may be used as a bed. On this floor there are two twin-bedded rooms and a bathroom. Two large verandas, facing east and south, allow a fine view whatever the time of day.

Vryses village is built at an altitude of 70 m, 30 km away from Chania city, to the main road to Rethymno and is the junction linking the north coast with Sfakia Province. The name of the village comes from the topography of the region, as there are many fountains (Vryses in Greek), springs and running waters. The arresting location where the village is built, the abundant waters, the fountains and the little rivers make Vryses one of the most beautiful villages of Apokoronas.

Vryses is a new village. The village started to be built in 1905 and in 1925 the community that included all the old houses was created. The construction of a new road favoured Vryses, as residents of the surrounding villages settled there. Today the village has a high school, police station, dispensary, restaurants and coffee shops. Eating at Vryses can be a real pleasure; small taverns and cafes at the shade of the trees offer traditional Cretan dishes. The village is known for the good quality milk products
