About Ashley H Dickey
Our family bought the original Victorian then rebuilt and remodeled it . We love the area and own a horse farm not far from the house itself. Our family has been in Lexington/Versailles for 30 years. We love this home and think it's the perfect retreat for many events.
Ashley H Dickey purchased this House in 2005
Why Ashley H Dickey chose Versailles
This is such a Historic area of Kentucky and is located on the Beautiful Bluegrass Driving Tour. It's also located amidst some of the world's finest Thoroughbred Horse farms. Members of our family are very familiar with the community and the location is centrally located amongst many attractions and close to Lexington and Versailles.

Beautiful! Great location. Easy to find.
This house was perfect for our week to enjoy the Land Rover 3 day Event. We had 7 people, and although the basement isn't the normal formal bedrooms, it is sectioned off. There are extra beds and mattresses and linens in every closet! Very nicely restored historic home. It is about 25 min to the horse park and 8 min to Keeneland. We had a great stay. Much nicer than a hotel. Thanks Kentucky!
P.S. There may be a possiblity that the upstairs is haunted.
Very nice victorian home.
Spacious home with ample sleeping space. Kitchen was small for 8 of us but we squeezed in. Plenty of hot water for showers and baths. Nice quiet location but close to grocery and gas.
Beautiful Home in Horse Country! Great Location - Convenient and Peaceful!
My brother and I travel back to Kentucky every fall with our families and our mother for our extended family vacation. We have stayed in a variety of accommodations around Lexington. The location of this home is great - so close to Keeneland and other attractions around Lexington! Views of horse farms surround the home and there is room to throw a football and play corn hole in the yard.
The interior of the home was very comfortable, updated and clean. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of dining area for our group. The three levels helps give room to spread-out. The basement area was great for our kids to have their own space to sleep and relax. Though, they were a little disappointed that the ping pong table showed in the listing wasn't there.
As others have mentioned, it would be ideal to have a bathroom downstairs, as the main floor bath is small and a bit inconvenient for all to come upstairs for showers, etc. Our kids came up to the third floor to share the master bathrooms to help alleviate some of the crowding in the main floor bath. The bathroom wouldn't have been as much of a problem if it were just kids staying downstairs, but our mother stayed in the downstairs third "bedroom".
This is not actually a three bedroom house. The third bedroom downstairs is a curtain off sleeping area. There are two separate curtained sleeping areas downstairs, one with a queen bed and one with a daybed and trundle. They open to the downstairs den. We misunderstood these arrangements. We knew the daybed and trundle area was curtained, but thought the queen third bedroom was an actual private bedroom. We had expected my mother would have more privacy away from our kids staying in the basement, too.
The two master bedrooms upstairs were large and very comfortable. The upstairs layout was perfect for us having two couples traveling together. Laundry room upstairs was nice to have, although we didn't need to use it this trip. Lots of linens provided and of nice quality.
We all enjoyed this home very much - one of our favorites where we have stayed. Wish we could give it 4 1/2 stars! We all agreed that this home should be on our list for next year!
Great place to stay. Wonderful location!
We really enjoyed our visit to Lexington and staying at this property was a big part of it! Ashley was easy to work with.
just perfect for 2 families and so close to Keeneland!
On spring break to tour UK and a day at Keeneland -- couldn't have been better for 2 families. Our 3 teens had run of the basement to hang out, and the parents enjoyed the spacious and well equipped kitchen and back patio. Very clean and nice property and gorgeous surroundings with scenic horse farms on 3 sides. We were so close to Keeneland! And we even enjoyed Easter sunrise at the beautiful historic limestone Pisgah Presbyterian Church just up the road -- it really could not have been better!
Great for the price but a few things to note
I would suggest updating the ironing board and iron. They are not suitable to put clothes on.
But for $200 this was by far the best option. The house is charming. Backs to horse country. So close to Keeneland!
