About Lorrie Taylor
We have been involved with the music and tourism industries since arriving in the Branson area more than 25 years ago. We have a business in town, and decided to move to the country last year. We have 5 grown children and a 10 year old, plus 10 grandchildren and counting, so life is never boring for us!
Lorrie Taylor purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Lorrie Taylor chose Omaha
We started out camping here and ended up with a cabin! We've always worked hard and needed a little place where we could get away. We loved it so much that we ended up building a home and moving just around the corner. We lived here most of the time while building, and still love it! Every time we stay we ask ourselves why don't we just move in? Great plan. Except there's no room for the piano!

The cabin and owners were nice. The driveway however is awful. The listing says; “four wheel drive recommend” should say, required to rent. You need a full size SUV with good ground clearance, otherwise forget it. You can walk the driveway faster than drive it. We also scratched the heck out of our car, trim the brush back please. The cabin was nice but removed from activities such as Branson. The owners were accommodating as there was no way we would pull our bass boat up the drive, they let us store our trailer and boat at their marina at no charge. Due to the driveway issue and the cabin being too far from local activities we would not rent it again.
Cabin in the Woods
This property was quaint and clean and so so sweet! I loved my stay here. It’s a bit out of the way, but that is exactly what I was looking for. I had all I needed and then some. And Lorie was amazing to work with! Very kind and accommodating.
We enjoyed our week in the cabin, it's very private and peaceful.
Perfect fit for our family
We had a great time staying at this cabin in the woods. We loved how secluded the location was and yet it is close to Branson and the Buffalo River. We hope to stay again in the future.
A True Cabin Experience
This cabin was exactly what my wife and I and another couple needed. We floated the buffalo and had steaks on the grill for dinner. Hummingbirds, Turkey, and whipperwirls serenaded us daily. We did not expect the amenities of the cabin as we climbed the private driveway, but to our content, the cabin has everything needed to be able to relax. Wonderful Home! Thank you!
Great Little Cabin in the woods.
This property is exactly as described in the ad. Pro's -- Complete Kitchen, amazing views, lots of wildlife, outdoor fire ring, gas bbq and a large deck. The owner kept us in the loop and the communication was very good. It's just outside of Branson if you get cabin fever. The lake down the street is beautiful.
Things to be aware of. As mentioned, 4X4 is recommended. The entrance to the drive is a bit tricky. The stairs to the 2nd floor resemble something a young boy would love in a tree house. But, they are steep so be mindful of toddlers or the elderly. There is a separate bedroom, but don't expect much privacy. The floor boards to the 1st floor are gapped and the bedroom door is just louvered. The bed upstairs is a full versus a queen mentioned. The shower is on the small side and you have to watch your supply of hot water.
We loved the wood burning stove, stash of DVD's & games and hiking near the lake. Coffee in the morning on the deck warmed my soul. Cooking as a family in the full Kitchen was helpful to save on eating out costs. The following changes could take the is place from 4 to 5 stars -- Sprial stair case, tankless water heater, T&G flooring upstairs and wood siding versus OSB on the interior walls. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and made some great memories as a family.
Although there are many activities and attractions nearby, once you arrive, you may just want to put your feet up and relax! The telephone and cable tv have been replaced by peacefulness and quiet tranquility. We have stocked the shelves with a variety of books, games and puzzles in addition to some of our favorite DVD's and CD's.
If, however, you start to get cabin fever after a day or two, there are plenty of things to choose from. A short drive to the entertainment capital of Branson is where live music shows, shopping and restaurants await. Branson Landing boasts an outdoor mall with a Fire and Water Fountain show throughout the day. Bringing your own boat? There is lake access nearby. For outdoor fun, Cricket Creek Marina is about 3 miles away where boats (or a slip for your boat) can be rented. Silver Dollar City is a scenic 25 minute drive away and White Water is in the heart of Branson. There are several beautiful golf courses, as well as a new zoo and many other area attractions for every age.
To the south, visit and float on the Buffalo River and take a day trip to explore historical Eureka Springs. If there is something specific you are looking for, let us know and we will get that information together for you!
We are off the beaten path, but easy to reach...We do recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the last 2 miles of road is gravel after leaving the pavement.
Every season brings its own beauty to our Ozark Mountain region. Deer, turkey and other wildlife inhabit the area. Bring your camera and patience to get some memorable photos. From spring thru September, there are hummingbirds. Wildflowers vary by the season. Nature trails beckon you to wander, so be sure to pack some sturdy shoes!
If flying in, you can check flights into Branson, MO (BKG) - about 20 minutes away; or Springfield, MO (SGF) - a little over an hour away. There is also a small airport in Harrison, AR that is about 20 minutes away. Metro airports you may consider are Kansas City (MCI), Tulsa (TUL), St Louis (STL) and Little Rock (LIT). These are all about 4 hours or so away.
