This is the perfect place if you like things a little rustic yet oh so comfortable. Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This lovely little cottage was just the right size for me, my wife, and our son. It's so close to the water. From the screened porch you feel like you are floating over Long Lake. The water access is safe for kids too. A deck you can do canonballs from, but also a beach with shallow water for those who prefer to wade.

The inside is covered with lovely wooden wainscoting. A lovely little kitchen with all the basics and the most amazing view of the lake. A cozy gas stove in the living room for cold nights. A beautiful bathroom with an enclosed tub and a bonus outdoor shower (with hot water).

Outside there is plenty of space with a picnic table, fire pit, and a hammock. Great place to hang out and just take it all in.

Richard came by to greet us and make sure we were all set. He lives nearby, but gave us total privacy.

If I have to say anything slightly negative...although maybe it's just because I'm old...the futon in the living room is pretty hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. The queen bed in the main bedroom is excellent. Just something to be aware of.

Thank you Richard and Hillarie for the wonderful experience!

Wonderful cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at The Honeymoon Cottage. It is charming, very clean, and perfect for a couple's getaway. Prudence was very helpful in orienting us to the cottage and kayaking on the lake when we arrived. The lake water was still high from the spring melt, so there wasn't a beach, but we were encouraged to store our kayaks on the dock. Since we have only launched from a shore, we had the opportunity to learn how to enter and exit our kayaks from a dock. The cottage location at Long Lake is perfect for side trips to Tupper Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Lake Placid, Wilmington, and lots of others. And when we weren't visiting other places, we enjoyed relaxing on the screened in porch or by the gas powered wood stove. Thank you for a wonderful week, Richard, Hillarie, and Prudence!

Beautiful views and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the Honeymoon cottage. It was very clean and well appointed. We brought our canoe and it was an easy launch off of the dock situated right in front of the cottage. The views are spectacular, the fishing was great and the cottage had everything we needed. We would not hesitate to come again!

Peaceful ever altering view of the beautiful Long Lake

  • 5 of 5

We've been coming to the Honeymoon Cottage for at least 3 years: a week in early May and a week in early October. As close to Nirvana as either of us is likely to get. We love the site, the whole Adirondack area. Look forward to many returns!

Amazing Fall Color at a Lakefront Cottage.

  • 4 of 5

We had a 4 night stay at Richard's lakeside Honeymoon cottage in late October. Morning views from the cottge's bay window looking at the imtimate Long Lake and its fall foliage across and quiet reflection on the water are just amazing. We checked out the town, the local Buttermilk Fall, did some driving in the area, and hiked the somewhat streneous Blue Mountain Summit Trail (great views of the ADK from the fire tower, the granite trail was slipery going down, but hike was very nice).

Had to leave very early in the morning and my checkout message was inadverdenty sent to a wrong phone number. My apology to Richard.

Paradise on Long Lake

  • 5 of 5

Fall 2016 was our third trip to this specific cabin, Honeymoon on Long Lake. We celebrated our 57th wedding anniversary this year. This spot is perfect: views of beautiful Long Lake, fall color was at its peak, weather was gorgeous, even a drizzle rain for parts of 2 days. The cabin is heated by an electric “wood stove,” so a flick of the switch makes everything warm and wonderfully cheery. The queen sized bed has one of the most comfortable mattresses ever! Bathroom is well appointed. Kitchen has all necessities (so pleased with the coffee mugs; these appeared last spring). We tend to eat a large lunch in a local restaurant and “snack” for the other meal times. Screened porch provides a great place for mid-day-thru-late-afternoon reading spot, along with an early evening glass of wine, or other beverage of your choosing! Quite good nearby restaurants, and the local grocery has everything of necessity and more. We took many day trips around the Adirondacks. Only regret: why didn’t we book for two weeks instead of only one!
