About the property

Lovely one bedroom cottage with stunning views over Loch Tay and private hot tub

Tucked away in the Highland estate of Craggantoul, Sam's Cottage is a charming holiday cottage offering panoramic views over Loch Tay and the surrounding woodland.

The lovely one bedroom property sits at the foot of mighty Ben Lawers, the tenth highest mountain in Scotland, within the grounds of the Highland estate of Craggantoul. As well as an acre of private grounds at the property, our guests have access to some 40 acres of ancient woodland including private orchard, secluded oak forest walks, loch frontage and fishing rights.

Offering guests the ultimate in self catering, the converted steading is beautifully furnished and offers all the mod cons for the perfect break, including a private hot tub. The entire location is rich in history, wildlife, activities and attractions, with water sports, walking, fishing, golf courses and castles a plenty.

About Nina Deakin

We live in Scotland with our two young children and operate a holiday cottage business on the shores of Loch Tay in the Scottish Highlands and a ski chalet business in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

Our properties range in style, age and size - they range from renovated farm steadings to alpine chalets, but all have a great sense of homeliness, and beautiful views, as well as lots of little luxuries to help everyone unwind and enjoy their holidays, no matter how old or young they may be!

Nina Deakin purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Nina Deakin chose Aberfeldy

Loch Tay is a fantastic location for holidays and there is so much to do in the area, no matter the time of the year. Sam's Cottage is a lovely romantic getaway which can be reached in just two hours from Glasgow or Edinburgh, but is still tucked away from the buzz of daily life. The newly refurbished property is light and spacious, yet cosy and one cannot help being impressed by the lovely views from the glass fronted living area and hot tub over the surrounding meadows and Loch Tay, which make it a very special place.

What makes this cottage unique

Loch Tay offers guests numerous opportunities for fishing (from our shores), climbing (we are located at the foot of the mighty Ben Lawers mountain), boating on the loch, visiting castles, distilleries, golf and all just on our doorstep! The cottage itself offers a spacious, calm and peaceful retreat to relax at the end of the day after all of these activities with a well deserved glass of wine from the bubbling hot tub.

This place was in a great location, for my husband and I, to explore the Highlands!

It was clean, well appointed, and very charming.

Sam's Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved Sam's Cottage. It was fresh and spotless on arrival. The views are amazing, aswel as the hottub. Very private and cosy cottage. The bed was very comfy and the shower was perfect also! The kitchen is well equipped with utensils. Everything was in working order, even the wifi worked better than expected! I loved the little notepad that was left to leave a message, I enjoyed reading everyones and seeing how far people have travelled. Will 100% be back and have already highly recommended Sam's to friends and family. Nina and Greg were also a great help from booking till the day we left. All emails answered quickly, and they were very helpful and friendly. Thanks again for our stay. It was perfect xxx
