Most Kinsale properties are in the center of the town with front doors opening onto the streets. Our house is positioned in the middle of Castlepark village. A nice ground floor property comprising of a very large open plan lounge, dining room, kitchen, with 2 bedrooms and a main bathroom.
Unique features include vaulted ceilings with exposed timbers and plenty of natural light. Our house can accommodate up to 4 people. My wife and I and our two daughters spent four nights here over the Christmas holiday. What a relaxing and beautiful setting! We loved both the town of Kinsale and the accommodation. Noel and Liz were there to greet us and give us a tour of the home and some great pointers on things to do in the area (even though we arrived quite late and more than an hour after we told them we'd be there due to a delayed ferry. They had the house warm with a fire built and even had a Christmas tree there for us. We would definately stay here again when we're back in the area.

This was our first trip to Ireland from the USA. I found the response time between the owner to be very prompt and the deposit was refunded within 2 days after we left. We found the place to be comfortable quiet and easy to drive to sights for day trips. We were disappointed that there were no extra blankets where we could watch t.v. on the couch, there were no extra towels or pillows. The reason I chose to rent this place was due to the kitchen and washer and dryer. There was not a big pot for stew, or a baking dish for the chicken I made. The dryer was broken and it took two days for our clothes to dry. The neighbor met us and tried to make our stay as comfortable as she could she did loan us a heated drying rack, large pot, blanket. The basis supplies left for us was an extra roll of toilet paper. Just be aware when you are looking for a place self-catering means they supply the very little.
This was our second visit to Ireland (from America) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage at Castlepark. The location is ideal, close to water, beaches, hiking trails, town shops and restaurants. The cottage is pristine, with comfortable and updated furniture and appliances. The kitchen is modern and bright, and perfect for a home cooked breakfast before heading out. Neighbors were friendly and welcoming. I could go on forever because I can't express how happy we were. We will most definitely return. So happy our son's girlfriend Laura found such a wonderful place for our memorable visit.
My boyfriend's parents were visiting from America and we were looking for a place outside the city to spend a few nights. We could not have chosen a better place to stay than the cottage at Castlepark. It far exceeded our expectations and we are already planning our next trip! The location is ideal, providing a private, secure yet central base to explore and catch up. The cottage is in immaculate condition and has all of the facilities you could possibly want or need. The kitchen is modern, clean and bright. While the living room provides ample recliner seating to spend a cosy night in. The beach is literally a stone throw away and is truly an oasis. You can hear the waves from outside the cottage! James Fort is a short walk providing breathtaking views. I cannot say enough about our stay at Castlepark, it was the highlight of the entire trip and we only wished we had booked it for longer!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kinsale and this cottage in Castlepark added to our first visit to Ireland. We were warmly welcomed by Noel and Liz who gave us the grand tour and showed us how to operate all the electricals. We found the property clean, well maintained and exactly as the photos in the listing. On the recommendation of our host, we had dinner at Man Friday which was excellent. We would definitely recommend this property to relatives and friends.
We had a great stay at Castlepark Village in Kinsale. We found the house to be super child friendly and also the park was a great melting pot for kids to meet other kids and play on the large private green area - which having two boys was fantastic. Kinsale is great for eating out we were spoilt for choice. Would definitely recommend this holiday home for a vacation.
This was our first trip to Ireland and hopefully won't be our last. The south west of Ireland is spectacular and the weather was pleasantly warm and sunny. What's more we were able to stay in a lovely, clean, well-equipped, modern holiday home situated in a secure and quiet development, adjacent to a beach and convenient for Kinsale.
It's a lovely place to stay and we wholeheartedly recommend it.
