Newly Remodeled spectacular waterfront rental located within the sunshine key resort and marina only steps away from the ocean. The cottage sits on the southwestern side of the island which provides for breathtaking sunsets from the largest gazebo on the island. The cottage is a one bedroom gem with a pullout out couch and all necessary amenities to make you feel at home. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen, bedroom, dining area and golf cart to easy transportation within the island.
In addition, the resort offers many accommodations such as a pool, community center, tennis courts, laundromat, gym and much more.
I'm a proud military veteran with an amazing family who has supported me every step of the way. I currently live in DC but, I'm originally from Miami, FL.
Ervin purchased this bungalow in 2013
I've been traveling to this area since i can remember. I fell in love with this particular place in 2010 as I was transitioning out of the military and looking for an retirement property
I searched high and low for a great place to stay. I FOUND IT HERE! This place worked out perfectly. The location could not be better, just north of Bahia Honda State Park, and still close enough to Marathon and Key West for easy trips. The amenities are wonderful here. The Park Model home comes with a golf cart (check to make sure there is an extension cord and charge it up), tennis courts, swimming pool-complete with handicapped lift, two nice kayaks and a quiet cove to take them out, and a tricked-out stereo system so complicated we couldn't make it work. Three tvs if you aren't really getting away from it all. The fellow in charge is friendly and cooperative and answers his phone to answer your questions. The tiki hut patio is very large and extends the living area nicely. We enjoyed feeding the myriad of crabs living in holes around the house. I would love to be able to come back here, but I'd want to stay 3-4 weeks, not 4 nights.
The house does have stairs up from the road to the tiki hut patio, so not suitable for wheelchairs.
We stayed here 3 nights last week and really enjoyed it. There are lots of positives - first the location. On the water. Seriously like 20 feet and your feet are IN the water. The rental is in a big resort which is not close to any town or restaurants really (15 min away) - but that was fine with us - there is a gas grill and we grilled out. There is also a really small café in the RV park near the pool that has coffee and we saw a few people eating there but did not go ourselves. Despite being in a park with lots of rvs. this was a SUPER quiet rental. Could not hear cars or dogs or people at all. Other pluses - the awesome HUGE deck and the kayaks. You can take them out every day (there are 2) and we paddled around the little cove. I also loved that this was just an hour from Key West for a day trip - I would not want to stay there (too crazy and busy) so this was a great place to just relax and do some exploring during the day. Now for the parts that were not ideal - two things. The wi fi / Internet there was not good. We kept getting no service which was not ideal for doing research on parks and where to go. Also, there is nothing in this rental that typical vrbos offer - coffee filters, salt and pepper, aluminum foil, laundry soap. I know these are "nice to haves" and not up to the owner to provide, but be aware of this if you plan to stay a while. Bring all your supplies. Overall great trip - would recommend this spot.
We wanted a relaxing vacation and that is exactly what we got. The cabana is in an RV Park, which ended up being great. We had a golf cart to use to get around the resort and we used the onsite cafe a few times for breakfast and lunch. It was quiet and set up to be very private. We loved the Tiki Hut outdoor area. Thought we would use the TV on the porch more but ended up just enjoying the view instead. It was a perfect size for a couple that really doesn't plan to spend a lot of time indoors. We also used the 2 kayaks to adventure around Ohio Key. We couldn't ask for anything more. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that we were hoping for more of a direct sunset view but it turns out it is not as easy as it sounds to find places in the Keys to watch the sunset. I recommend going to the Bahai Honda Park just a few miles away and watch the sunset from one of their beaches.
This is a little slice of peace and tranquility in the Keys. The place is in front of the water with an awesome view of the Atlantic, a great place to Kayak and fishing, which my wife and I did almost every day. Bahia Honda park is just a few minutes away and there are plenty of restaurants and shops just before the seven mile bridge. The place owner (Ervin) is very responsible, the AC unit stopped working late one day of our vacation, I called him and by the next day early morning he had it fixed. The place itself is well maintained with a beautiful tiki hut, where we spent hours resting and drinking margaritas. If you want to rest, chill and relax this a great place to do it, my wife and I had a great time.
