Guestbook comments from the owner

Practically perfect - where's the 5th star? We felt very French with all the rustic brick and wrought iron as we sat out in the wonderful warm weather with our glass of wine in the lovely garden enjoying the pastoral scene. The dictionary was a great help with our crosswords and the peat fire in the evening smelt beautiful. Had a lively musical evening in the village hall next door. If you get a chance to hear Colum Sands, do take it. We enjoyed doing some of the Sperrin scenic routes (leaflets below telephone) and spent a whole morning with a flask of coffee and the newspapers sitting in the tranquility at Gortin lakes. The cycle route map is a great help with some of the smaller roads. Chinese takeaway in Gortin is OK (opens about 6ish) Springhill (N.T) near Cookstown has nothing open until 1 p.m. Thanks for a perfect week.

A Magical Place!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bothy in the Sperrin Mountains. After a busy day out and about, it was very comforting to come back to this beautifully renovated barn and in the five days that we were there, we never tired of the lovely pastoral view from the sun room. Highly recommended.

Beautiful accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I, 5 adults, stayed at the Bothy in May. It is so lovingly rebuilt and maintained. It is pure joy to just sit and look out that picture window onto the valley and hills beyond. Charles and Bernadette were wonderful hosts. We stayed for four days and saw much of Nothern Ireland from this home.

The Bothy

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Ireland and we immediately fell in love with The Bothy. Charlie and Bernadette are just delightful and most welcoming. We toured northern Ireland from this location and it was perfect. The view from the sunroom is breathtaking. Our only complaint was that we couldn't stay here longer. If I return to Ireland, there is no question but that I will stay at The Bothy again.
