My husband James and I travel extensively and prefer staying in apartments rather than hotels when we travel. Upon our return from a month renting a great place in Istanbul last summer, we decided to offer some of our properties here! We enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to our fair city. I'm a native Charlottean so can help provide a true local's perspective during your visit, which can be especially helpful for people relocating to Charlotte. Our clean and comfortable properties are located near Uptown Charlotte, in very walkable and safe neighborhoods. We try our best to provide a true home away from home. Thanks in advance for your interest and we look forward to hosting you.

Our company, The Home Collection - Charlotte, offers over 30 different residences in Charlotte, NC all within 2 miles of downtown!

Why Jim Hock chose Elizabeth

Location, location, location. Our walkable neighborhood provides the ability to live car-free, and when a car is needed, you can get anywhere in the area in minutes. Near both hospitals and close to the Uptown business district, you'll enjoy staying in the center of everything, but in a quiet residential neighborhood. As a native Charlottean, I can help guide you around our city, and can be especially helpful for those relocating to the area.

What makes this apartment unique

Hip and cool 1br/1ba second floor unit w/covered front porch. Ideal for long stays--snowbirds, consultants, visiting new grandchildren, interns etc. On-street parking directly next to apartment, great walkable, vibrant and young neighborhood

Guestbook comments from the owner

The apartment is terrific! Thank you for a wonderful 2 nights- we wish our stay was longer. Would love to shop and try all of the nearby restaurants. We enjoyed Carpe Diem very much--thanks so much for the recommendation.

We were happy to just make the trip to Charlotte. To stay here is truly icing on the cake! We have rented many places, and never have we been greeted with such hospitality. The food. wine and drink -- heaven. The home is just lovely and all the amenities and fine touches from wooden hangers (and plenty of them) to the beautiful linens~ the bed is amazingly comfortable--not too firm, not too soft!

We had a great time in this beautiful apartment in Charlotte. The location is convenient to Uptown and we were even able to walk to the Spectrum Center. Would definitely recommend!

Home away from home

Everything you could need; clean and quiet.

We became regulars at Sabor Latin Street Grill which is walking distance from the condo.

Great place.

Great weekend

  • 5 of 5

Great neighborhood , lots of good places to eat within walking distance, nice decor, and the host is exceptionally good at communicating. He even told us about things to do that particular weekend.

We would stay there again when we are in Charlotte.

Beautiful apartment in a great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We rented this apartment to stay in Charlotte for a weekend and play tourist with our teenage daughter. The apartment is south of downtown in a walkable neighborhood. It was immaculate and beautifully decorated. When we arrived, there was music playing and snacks and drinks available for us. We brought our dog and were able to walk him in a nearby park or take him to several local restaurants with outdoor seating. We would particularly recommend Bistro La Bon. Parking is just outside the building and the gold line trolley, which goes uptown is about 4 blocks away and runs about every 10 minutes. The road in front of the apartment is fairly busy but noise at night was not a problem. We spent a day at Carowinds, which is about 20 minutes away and a day at the Mint Museum/uptown. It was a great trip and I would highly recommend this property.

Another great stay with the Home Collection

  • 5 of 5

For the second (and certainly not the last) time in less than 6 months, I've enjoyed a relaxing stay in a Home Collection property. Once again, the property was well appointed with eclectic art and tasteful furnishings; thoughtful amenities such as ironing board and laundry baskets; and of course the welcome package of fresh fruit, pasta and pasta sauce, wine and other adult beverages.

The upbeat residential neighborhood is exceptionally well kept, the neighbors are very active and super friendly, and there are plenty of well run small businesses within walking distance that cater to every need.

As always, my stay was too short, and I look forward to my next stay in a Home Collection property in the fall.

Hawthore Street

  • 5 of 5

I want to say, great location close to uptown. Easy walk to trolley and free to Uptown trolley Very clean nice balcony for the warm days to have your coffee or a drink. Kitchen well stocked for cooking your own meals. Walking distance to great pizza and many other great places to pick up supplies or eat out.

When I go back to Charlotte I will book again. Did I mention the 2 bottles of wine and the fresh fruit and spaghetti and sauce, they know how to host a guest. Thanks Charlie
