Wildlife: Around the accommodation you will be living with many neighbours. They were here long before self catering accommodation was sensitively constructed on the site.

They range from flora and fauna of many kinds, orchids and grasses to fungi and litchen.

There are over 30 varieties of birds. Eagles soar above the high ridge behind the site and many garden birds feed on our nut feeders and nest in the boxes provided around the site.

Mammals as large as Red Deer to the small Pipistrelle Bat occupy the area and we have a resident family of Pine Martens who like to be fed anything sweet, bread and jam being a favourite!! Red Squirrels also make a recurring appearance quite often stealing the bird nuts, no greys here yet!!!!

Reptiles such as common lizards, slow worms, frogs, newts keep home in the burns and warm wet grass around the edge of the site. We are also graced with butterflies and bumble

Out & About: Next to our accommodation we have Loch Leven Seafood Café only 10 min walk away, which offers the freshest seafood cooked by an award winning chef at very competitive prices. What more could you ask for!!

If seafood isn’t your thing they also do various non fish options or if you fancy something more traditional there is The Loch Leven Hotel in North Ballachulish which has a wide range of good home cooked meals in the bar or restaurant, only 5 miles away you can drive or get a taxi. If it is just coffee and CAKE you are after Glencoe Cafe in Glencoe is the perfect pit stop for this, all home baking, you can’t resist!

If all this fresh air is too much or the weather is not too good (hard to believe in Scotland), there are many indoor options.

You can visit the Whiskey Distillery in Fort William or Oban, Ten Pin bowling in Fort William, Lochaber lesuire centre & pool in Fort William and many other activities.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a really good holiday which benefitted from the excellent condition of Tiranui Lodge. We found it spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped and we would have no reservations about coming back. I hope we left the Lodge as we found it. The location suits us fine for accessing the hills. It's also quiet and peaceful since most north/south bound traffic are using the bridge and don't come near the site.

Thanks again for providing such a nice holiday home and look forward to coming back next year.

We stayed here for seven nights in May, in total there was fourteen people so we had the cottage and two chalets,we were made to feel very welcome by the owners when we arrived. The area was perfect and the views breathtaking with plenty of walks to be had and exploring, a couple from our group got 3/4 of the way up the hill behind the chalets. Overall I would recommend this place very much...very good holiday

Here at Loch Leven Holidays we are situated in a quite loch side location 4.5miles from North Ballachulish and the main A82, which is the North/South route up the Scottish West coast. We are in an enviable position sitting on the North shore of Loch Leven facing South over the spectacular mountains of Glencoe, with the Mamore range behind us. The setting is fantastic and the views are stunning. The area around has much to offer with walking, climbing, cycling, boating, sight-seeing or just relaxing.

We are only 7 miles from the spectacular Glencoe, 40 miles from Oban which is a lovely little fishing port where you can enjoy shopping, eating, walking or even seal watching.

Fort William the home of Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in the British Isles) is only 16 miles away where many indoor and outdoor activities can be enjoyed

Golf: Dragons Tooth Golf Course is only 6 miles away and is in a stunning position looking over Loch Linnhe. An ideal spot to enjoy a few rounds and enjoy a warming coffee or cool drink in the cafe.

Ski: We have 2 ski centres within 30 mins of the cottage, Glencoe Mountain resort only 12 miles away and Anoch Mor nr Fort William 20 miles away. Both excellent spots for enjoying winter sports but both having world class mountain bike routes, hire wire activities and food and drink options.
