Casa del Vicolo is the ideal location for a vacation between nature, comfort and quiet, in recently restored house dated 1700, finely furnished and distinctive, overlooking a large garden (6000mq) with amazing lake view (250 m distance).

The home expands upon 3 levels:

at the ground floor fully equipped roomy kitchen, dining room with stone vaulted ceiling directly facing the garden fitted for solarium and lunch.

At the first floor bright living room that easily can turn into a 2 persons bedroom if necessary (2 single beds or 1 double bed) and bathroom with shower.

At the second floor double bedroom with balcony having the sight over the lake and the village and bathroom with shower.

The huge garden with view over the lake allows for charming moments to play or relax as well as nice walks among the olive trees cultivation.

Tastefully furnished but impractical with only one room wide x 4 stories tall

Plus points - Danielle was lovely, the apartment was tastefully furnished and the views from the garden in front of the main door (which leads into the underground lounge) were superb.

However there is a steep climb from the parking area, the apartment is quite dark with no front facing windows and with 4 floors and 40 steps to the top floor, is very impractical.

We experienced mid 30 degree heat (which I would imagine is the norm in Summer) and, with no air conditioning, we found sleeping comfortably on the top floor virtually impossible (even with fans running all night).

Mosquitoes are also a problem. We received 14 bites in one evening session sat outside in the garden on the second night - so no more watching the sun go down with a glass of wine!!

Wunderschöner Urlaub Casa Del Portico

Schon bei der Ankunft waren wir überwältigt von dem wunderschönen Haus, traumhaften Anwesen und dem atemberaubenden, unverbauten Ausblick über den Comer See. Die Familie hat uns sehr herzlich empfangen und war während unseres Aufenthalts jederzeit für uns da. Hielten bei Bedarf auch schöne Ausflugs- und Restaurant-Tipps bereit! Das Haus beeindruckt durch die liebevolle und hochwertige Einrichtung - es strahlt einen ganz besonderen Flair aus. Die Ausstattung des Hauses war in jeder Hinsicht (z.b. Equipment in Küche und Bad) absolut vollständig - kurz: uns fehlte es an nichts! Wir haben uns auf Anhieb wie zu Hause gefühlt. Der außergwöhnlich große Garten ist terrassenartig, mit vielen Olivenbäumen, Obst- und Gemüseanbau und genügend Platz zum Parken angelegt. Unser Highlight war ein eigener kleiner "Garten", den wir ganz allein für uns genießen konnten - sei es beim Frühstück oder bis spät in die Nacht dort sitzen und die Sterne über dem See und den Bergen betrachten. Der für uns perfekte Ort, um erholsame Tage zu verbringen - wir kommen gerne wieder!

Erholung und Entspannung ist garantiert

Schon der herzliche Empfang von Danielle und das absolut saubere und stilvoll hergerichtete Appartment liesen einen angenehmen Aufenthalt vermuten. Der Garten und die Terrasse waren der Hammer. Alles haben wir wie beschrieben angetroffen. Es wurde nur verschwiegen wie freundlich und herzlich die ganze Familie um unseren Urlaub bestrebt war. Ruhe, Seesicht und einen stilvoll gepflegten Garten runden neben den Küchen und Badezimmer Einrichrungen alles komplett ab. Wir sind sicherlich im nächsten Jahr wieder Gäste im Haus von Mario und Danille sowie von Giorgio und Adige sowie den beiden kleinen Haustigern. 100 % Empfehlung und eigentlich sind es sechs Sterne.

Bella Casa, liebevoll restauriert

Geschichtsträchtiges wunderbar renoviertes Haus mit Seeblick, supernette und unkomplizierte Gastgeber, Ruhe innerhalb eines riesigen Gartens mit Olivenbäumen und Beerensträuchern.

Empfang mit liebevollen Details, die sonst eher in gehobenen Hotels als in einer Ferienwohnung zu finden sind.

Ein Sternenabzug für die vielen Treppen, die zu bewältigen sind und für ältere Menschen bzw. für jüngere mit kleinen Kindern weniger geeignet sind.

Wir haben uns sehr, sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wonderful views, great location, excellent hosts

An amazing property, well equipped and very tastefully decorated. We had a fantastic week here. The weather was amazing and we enjoyed sunning ourselves in the beautiful gardens. Our hosts, Mario, Danielle, Alice and Georgie were kind and attentive. The setting enjoys wonderful views of Como and is very well situated for walks along the Greenway do Lago as well as for taking boat trips to Bellagio and Varenna. We very much hope to return to Lago Di Como and to Casa Del Vicolo.

CasaDelVicolo: le confort dans un écrin de verdure

Quel charmant gîte et quel charmant accueil!

Dans un cadre d'exception, Danielle et Mario, ainsi que leurs enfants vous accueillent dans ce gîte historique ( il a une histoire très particulière),tout refait à neuf, très bien aménagé, sur 3 niveaux. A noter qu'un escalier en colimaçon relie les étages, ce qui, comme mentionné, peut constituer une gêne pour les personnes à mobilié réduite, ou les enfants en bas âge.

Le descriptif du gîte de l'annonce correspond tout à fait à la réalité.

J'ajouterai qu'il y a 2 accès: un accès privé par la rue et un accès par le jardin en contrebas duquel on peut se garer facilement.

La maison des priopriétaires est mitoyenne mais ce n'est absolument pas dérangeant, et une partie du jardin (immense) est partagé en commun avec les chambres d'hotes de la Casa Del Portico. La plus belle vue est surtout celle que l'on a du jardin, plûtot que celle du balcon de la grande chambre. Le calme est absolu, et la fraicheur du rez de chaussée une bénédiction lorsqu'il fait très chaud.

La situation sur le lac, que nous avons écumé de long en large, est idéale, un peu en retrait pour ne pas être trop près de la route principale (c'est le défaut de certains gîtes ou hotels qui se targuent d'être les pieds dans l'eau!) mais à 15-20mn à pied des embarcadères de Lenno ou de Tremezzo par la "greenway"pour aller flâner à Bellagio, Varenne ou visiter Côme.

Promenade buccolique garantie!

Les sentiers de rando ne sont pas en reste, au départ de Mennagio (pour le parc du Val Sanagra) ou d'Argegno (pour la vallée d'Intelvi). A quelques minutes en voiture ou par le bus.

La propriétaire sur place est francophone et saura avec sa fille, également bilingue, vous prodiguer les meilleures conseils pour choisir le restaurant le plus adapté, les meilleurs coins de baignade, le meilleur caviste, etc

En bref, une adresse de très, très grande qualité . Nous y retournerons certainement!
