About Rick Singbusch

We live in and work in Rochester and bought the property back in 1995 and finally built the cabin in 2005. Have really enjoyed the fishing and the quiet there.

Rick Singbusch purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Rick Singbusch chose Brainerd Lakes

We bought this property because of its quiet location, the size of the lot and the proximity to town. It's only a mile and a half to the restaurant and gas station in town but you feel like you are a long way from civilization when you are sitting on the deck or out fishing. The lake is a good fishing lake about ¼ mile wide by ½ mile long, about 60 acres, it’s not unusual to be the only one fishing on it.

What makes this cabin unique

We have really enjoyed quiet and privacy of this property and the excellent fishing. There aren't many trophies in this lake but if you enjoy catching 2 to 5 lb northerns along with largmouth bass, crappies, and panfish you will love this lake. You can see from the pictures that the lot itself has a large open area with a couple of wildflower gardens. There is also some woods with mowed trails in them.

The property was very clean and the grounds very well kept.

  • 5 of 5

Well like I said above, the everything was very clean and well kept up. the lawn was huge and perfectly groomed. The owner does a wonderful job remembering everything you may need. And he is very genres in letting you use them. The bed is very comfortable, and the whole cabin is very welcoming. If you like quite & relaxation this is the place for you. The small town of Longview is a pretty neat little place, I was there after labor day so some of the shops were closed but not all. There are a lot of lakes all around the area witch is very nice. I would recommend this to people who are looking for relaxation, but not only that you can find a lot to do all around the cabin & the area. I would like to thank the owner for a great time. Best visit there so far....

  • 5 of 5

we've learned a thing or two by now so being this was our 3rd time up at this awesome place, we were in for our best time ever and it sure was. Weather was awesome first 2 days, rained some on last day. Thankfully I brought my CPU and had movies to watch while the weather wasn't cooperating, so bring something just in case. Everything you could ask for is there, which is so awesome. Great job Rick, more in love with that part of MN every visit. Keep this place a secret!

Wonderful property.

  • 5 of 5

We have visited the Longville area for over 40 years. Too bad there wasn't a place like this to stay years ago. Everything was as advertised. Loved the little trails through the woods. We will be back!!

Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This place was PERFECT. The property was wonderful and well taken care of, along with the cabin - very clean & also well taken care of. It's close enough to town if you need anything and the canoe and paddle boat were so fun to have as well. We will definitely be back. My husband & I LOVED it - as did our pups! The owner, Rick, also has excellent communication.

Perfect Quiet getaway from the stress of life.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place. I could live here forever. Well stocked cabin, really only needed food and water. Caught enough fish for a couple meals. We will be going back next year for a longer stay.

Thanks Rick, You have a gem of a place!!

Quiet, clean and cozy

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year I've stayed at this lovely cabin on the lake. The owners keep the cabin and the grounds clean and well stocked with all those little things that make the stay effortless and relaxing. It is secluded enough where you feel like you're away from it all, but It is close to many state parks and little towns. My dog and I loved our stay!
