Quiet 3 acres on DNR fishing lake with 200' of shoreline with dock just outside Longville. Large open lawn as well as wooded area. Cabin has 1 bedroom, 1 bath, kitchen and appliances, concrete patio. Sleeps up to 4. Good fishing lake with many other fishing and recreational lakes nearby, including Woman Lake about 2 miles away and Leech Lake about 10 miles away. Canoe and paddle boat included along with life jackets and paddles. Northern Lights Casino in Walker is about a 20 minute drive. Summer music festival at Moondance is also about 20 minutes.
We live in and work in Rochester and bought the property back in 1995 and finally built the cabin in 2005. Have really enjoyed the fishing and the quiet there.
Rick Singbusch purchased this cabin in 1995
We bought this property because of its quiet location, the size of the lot and the proximity to town. It's only a mile and a half to the restaurant and gas station in town but you feel like you are a long way from civilization when you are sitting on the deck or out fishing. The lake is a good fishing lake about ¼ mile wide by ½ mile long, about 60 acres, it’s not unusual to be the only one fishing on it.
We have really enjoyed quiet and privacy of this property and the excellent fishing. There aren't many trophies in this lake but if you enjoy catching 2 to 5 lb northerns along with largmouth bass, crappies, and panfish you will love this lake. You can see from the pictures that the lot itself has a large open area with a couple of wildflower gardens. There is also some woods with mowed trails in them.
This is a great place! So peaceful and cozy with all the items you need except food! Large yard to play in and a beautiful baseball field a couple properties away. Trails all around. We spent time on the lake and enjoyed the wildlife! Rick is easy to work with and responds quickly! Definitely worth the stay!!!
Overall we were so happy with the place and its furnishings and amenities. We were able to cook food we brought easily, and the TV antenna worked well, and the property is of a size that we could walk our small dog around and she could keep finding new smells. We even went over to Patrick's (a bar and grill in Longville) for happy hour and that was nice.
Rick made us feel really welcome and we are thinking about coming again another season. It was our first time in Lake Country as tourists and we enjoyed every moment.
This is our second time back to this little gem! It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We LOVE the huge yard as we are a fan of yard games (bean bags, Frisbee, etc). The lake is quiet and the views of the sky at night are SPECTACULAR. The cabin is immaculate (kudos to the cleaning person!) We have been blessed with perfect weather both times we stayed here so we spent most of our days/nights outdoors. The location is perfect and it feels so secluded being surrounded by the trees- love the privacy!
Rick is an amazing host and easy to work with. We can't wait to come back next summer!
Lovely cabin that is well maintained with a large beautiful yard right next to the lake. We haven't slept that good in ages! Plenty of rest and relaxation. Looking forward to our next stay!!
There was everything we needed already there, all we had to bring was food. We caught a lot of fish right off the dock including a pike. Our puppy loved swimming and playing in the water. We found this nice on Mabel lake that had a huge sandbar and wasn't crowded. It was great to bring the dog there and swim. Overall the cabin was exactly what we we're looking for and we will be going back.
My boys and I stayed at Rick's cabin as a home base for a recent fishing trip. Although we did not fish his lake, the cabin is perfectly situated to many nearby lakes. His place was a great alternative to more expensive resorts and cabins. It is well equipped with canoe, paddle boat, life jackets, grill, fire ring, kitchen supplies, lake maps, etc. It is very clean and the photos are an accurate representation. The property is also very natural and secluded - you can't even see another cabin. Rick's communication with us was excellent from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a basic, inexpensive cabin. I'm sure we will be staying there again on a future fishing trip.
Dozens of fishing and recreational lakes nearby including Leech and Woman Lakes. Only 1 1/2 miles from Longville featuring Turtle Races every Wed during summer months. Local attractions include mini golf, ice cream/pizza parlor, locally owned shops including home-made fudge.
