About Rick Singbusch

We live in and work in Rochester and bought the property back in 1995 and finally built the cabin in 2005. Have really enjoyed the fishing and the quiet there.

Rick Singbusch purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Rick Singbusch chose Brainerd Lakes

We bought this property because of its quiet location, the size of the lot and the proximity to town. It's only a mile and a half to the restaurant and gas station in town but you feel like you are a long way from civilization when you are sitting on the deck or out fishing. The lake is a good fishing lake about ¼ mile wide by ½ mile long, about 60 acres, it’s not unusual to be the only one fishing on it.

What makes this cabin unique

We have really enjoyed quiet and privacy of this property and the excellent fishing. There aren't many trophies in this lake but if you enjoy catching 2 to 5 lb northerns along with largmouth bass, crappies, and panfish you will love this lake. You can see from the pictures that the lot itself has a large open area with a couple of wildflower gardens. There is also some woods with mowed trails in them.

Great, secluded, and quiet place to get away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at this cabin. She happened upon the listing when we decided to try staying in lakes country as we had never been in that area before. The host left wonderful, detailed information about everything you would want to know to stay at the property. He thought of basically everything. The price was so reasonable, which was one of the things we liked as well as being on a fairly private, small lake. The weather was not so good for one of our days, but there were lots of games provided to keep us occupied. TV and basic cell service was available, too, if you can't totally unplug. We had a great time and would consider staying again if the situation presents itself.

AMAZING

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing little cabin. Rick has this cabin ready for everything that could come up. It is on a nice little lake that has amazing fishing on it. I would highly recommend this cabin for someone that wants a nice secluded cabin with great fishing. Longville is only couple miles away if you need anything that Rick doesn't have. We will be coming back soon. Thanks again for everything Rick.

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place to stay if you're looking to relax, fish, have bonfires, and unplug. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable and worry free stay. The town of Longville is only a couple of minutes away and everyone we met in town were so friendly and fun to talk to. Caught plenty of fish off the dock and the big yard was perfect for our 2yr old to run around and play in. We will be booking a return trip for sure.

Everything and then some --- can't wait to go back!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful and clean cabin on an fabulous lake front property. My boyfriend and I (along with our dog) rented this cabin for the weekend and had the best time ever. Amazing fishing off the dock, so much room for the dog to run and the cabin is fully stocked with everything you can think of. All you have to bring is food and beverages and you are set for a great weekend. We will definitely be making this a yearly trip of ours now. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

Perfect seclusion

Close to town, but feels like your alone in the woods! Great fishing on boxell lake, close to girl lake for walleyes. The cabin has all the charms, with all the amenities. Perfect get away for city dwellers.
